Amid the chaos, Lachlan Wyatt’s appearance seed to bring a mont of silence to the crowd. He naturally attracted everyone’s gaze, and even the loud music seed to pause. However, in reality, no one stopped partying. It was just in Iris Crawford’s world that ti stood still for him.

Iris opened her eyes slightly and said incredulously, "How do you look so much like Lachlan Wyatt? Did you have surgery to look like him?"

...Drank too much.

Lachlan found it both frustrating and amusing, raising an eyebrow. His appearance was shockingly alluring at that mont.

Beside him, Jas Chesterton shivered and said, "Have you considered that this person might actually be Lachlan Wyatt?"

Iris carelessly stroked the waist of the lady accompanying her and sat up, nonchalantly proclaiming, "How is that possible? Lachlan Wyatt wouldn’t be bored and co looking for in the middle of the night—"

Before she could finish speaking, her chin was pinched, and then her entire face was pulled by a force. Before she could react, sothing warm seed to cover her lips.

The next second, what seed like a soft tongue forcefully pried her lips open.

At that mont, Seraphina Colbert watched from the side and gasped sharply.

Iris’s eyes widened in disbelief as Lachlan had already kissed her. No, you couldn’t call it a kiss. This action was more like a "bite," as if he was declaring his sovereignty, without a hint of tenderness—no matter how drunk Iris was, she should snap out of it now.

Only Lachlan could act this way towards her in the entire world.

Anyone who understood Iris’s inner world would keep their distance from her with a sense of respect. So would even comnt behind her back, saying things like, "A woman like her is too strong, nobody in our village would marry her." But Lachlan didn’t care at all.

He didn’t care whether his partner was strong or weak, male or female, god or demon—or even an animal.

If he wanted to kiss, he could do it without hesitation the next second.

Iris trembled, sobering up from the alcohol. Her eyes widened as Lachlan seed to be venting so anger, and even his kiss carried a strong desire to plunder. Although he was rely kissing her, it made Iris feel like they’d done everything.

This feeling was all Lachlan.

Dopamine surged madly, reaching heights never seen before under the influence and amplification of alcohol.

Her pupils quivered with excitent as Iris struggled, and sensing her regained consciousness, Lachlan finally let go. He then pressed his thumb against her lips, roughly rubbing them, and breathed, "Are you happy? Living it up without like this?"

"Yes." Iris laughed.

She felt she hadn’t really sobered up, perhaps even more intoxicated now. Seeing Lachlan so arrogant, she felt the urge to provoke him further. She grabbed his collar and pulled his neck down, catching Lachlan off guard and sending his knee forward, causing him to bend down again.

"Want to kiss ? One knee on the ground isn’t enough."

Beside his ear, Iris leaned in with a sly smile, "Both knees, kneel down, you wretched man."

Hearing her provocative words in his ear, Lachlan felt the blood in his entire body rushing backward. Every blood vessel seed ignited, with a fiery sensation slowly crawling to his dullest nerve endings, pushing him to the brink of madness.

"Try provoking one more ti?" Kneeling before Iris’s sofa, the man exuded a bloodthirsty gleam like a wild animal spotting its prey. He was at the peak of excitent, licking his teeth, his sharp teeth pressing against his tongue, and the slight prick of pain brought him joy, "Drank too much and looking for trouble?"

Iris hooked her finger through Lachlan’s tie, "Oh? Trouble? You told to get lost, and now you rush over to stop from drinking. How amusing. You don’t want , but won’t let go. Lachlan, aren’t you wretched?"

"Absolutely wretched."

Lachlan replied, chuckling darkly, as if everyone else vanished from their world in that mont. No one could enter their world anymore.

He tilted his head back, like a knight kneeling before the Queen’s throne, waiting piously for the Queen’s favor. But his eyes were filled with wildness and conquest. Sotis, Iris couldn’t distinguish whether he was showing vulnerability or if she was his prey.

Beside them, Orion Crawford was stunned. He never imagined that the dynamic between Lachlan and his sister Iris could be so exhilarating, causing onlookers to blush. Though nothing inappropriate for children had been done—compared to what they had never done—

Their gazes intertwined, having rged countless tis already, rendering undressing unnecessary.

Taking a deep breath, Iris slapped Lachlan’s face, but the force stopped when it reached the wound on his forehead.

Lachlan laughed, pressing his face closer, "Can’t bear to?"

Iris withdrew her hand, leaned back, and then lifted her leg, her stiletto teasing his belt, speaking with the authority of an empress, "To slap you is to reward you, beg ."

Even Seraphina Colbert covered her face, overwheld. Damn, they’re too intense!

What kind of couple is this! What outrageous words!

"I beg you." But unexpectedly, Lachlan really said that.

The man’s mouth spoke words of begging, but his eyes were cunning and unrestrained, "I beg you, let suffer a bit."

The next second, the high heel pressed down on Lachlan’s white shirt on his chest.

On the sofa, Iris said, "I haven’t settled the account of kissing yet, what are you doing here in a hurry to see at night?"

"I heard we broke up?"

"We’ve never been together."

Iris Crawford shook her head, raised her slender finger to her lips as if making a "shush" gesture, her bright red nails as glaring as blood, "You love my sister, Skye Lockwood, don’t you?"

Lachlan Wyatt opened his mouth, wanting to explain sothing, but Iris continued to smile. Though the surrounding noise was so loud, for so reason, her cool voice penetrated Lachlan’s ears so clearly, every word crisp and resolute, "I don’t have ti to be your substitute, much less to be a resentful woman. It’s just a substitute, you’re not wrong, and neither am I. But don’t expect to see suffer a bit just because I’m leaving you, Lachlan, don’t you dare."

While others would cry and scream, asking why they were made a substitute, Iris chose to accept the fact.

Why ask why?

Is there a need to explain such things?

"You have no obligation or standing to explain to , and I naturally don’t want to hear it either."

Iris blinked playfully, feeling a surge of emotion rise from her chest, but she quickly suppressed it. It turns out being clear-headed is so pathetic; if possible, she’d rather hysterically grab Lachlan’s shirt and argue fiercely with him, but would it help? Asking why about what’s already happened would just make her look more foolish.

"You have every right to treat as a substitute, after all, I never demanded you to truly love . As long as I have the ability, I can treat you as a substitute too. Unfortunately, Jordan Jacobs is so lousy, I don’t need a substitute to decisively and cleanly forget about him." Leaning forward, the lights of the bar reflected in Iris’s eyes, shifting and bright, seemingly able to reveal the devilish nature of Lachlan’s exquisite face, "You’re not that lucky, you’re the pitiful one. Unable to forget, only resorting to such ans. But treating as a substitute is your folly and loss."

Those words hit Lachlan’s chest like a hamr.

Iris scratched Lachlan’s chin, unsure of how she managed to say those calm yet painful words she spoke earlier.

Fortunately, the drunkenness numbed the pain.

Lachlan, I want to see if I lose control first or if you surrender first.

A classic song’s lyric flashed through her mind, horrifying—

"Let emotions be betrayed, if you like Judas."

"But since you’re here, as a guest, I won’t kick you out today. Why not sit with Hector Sutton and drink with ?"

Coming back to her senses, Iris pointed to the seat beside her with slender fingers, Hector glanced at Lachlan blankly.

Lachlan laughed, almost gritting his teeth, "You’re putting and Hector Sutton on the sa level now?"

Iris propped her chin, "So, what are you thinking?"

Jas Chesterton imdiately pulled Lachlan aside, "You, you really can’t start a fight with Birdie! You’ve co all this way, calm down, otherwise every ti you et, it’ll be this tense. Orion Crawford is still around! Who do we side with if you fight!"

Peach imdiately added, "Fight, fight! Best if both of you end up with losses, that way I’ll have work to do!"

"..." Martin Hawthorne was speechless.

Only Seraphina Colbert was internally comnting, when Lachlan and Iris et, it isn’t just tense, it’s sexually charged!

Iris spread her hands, unrestrained. As a daughter of the Crawford Family, with her brother Orion Crawford, though she lost out in love with Lachlan, so what, Miss Crawford would never fall again for a man.

She sarcastically added, "Sit down; we’re all friends."

Friends?

Lachlan laughed, laziness to the extre, yet the light in his eyes was as sharp as a blade, making him strikingly handso in an instant, "Who wants to be friends with you?"

"Then continuing as ambiguous partners isn’t impossible," Iris looked at her nails, feeling the shift in power dynamics at that mont, now she was in control, teasing like a queen, "but let make it clear, I’m not exclusive."

Lachlan laughed in anger, listen to Iris provoking him!

"Quite the player, aren’t you."

"I told you, if you want to play, I’ll entertain you," Iris patted the seat beside her, calling Lachlan, "Sit, darling."

Lachlan sneered, little tease, please don’t flirt!

Jas leaned over to Seraphina’s ear, "Do you think they’re arguing?"

Seraphina slyly said, "Why do I see doting in Lachlan’s eyes, what seems like confrontation is really just flirting... I think Lachlan enjoys Iris’s playful retaliation."

Beside them, Hector Sutton stared dumbfounded at Iris’s smiling profile, while Jude Hawthorne glanced around; nearly everyone nearby was in the sa state.

Lachlan, smiling wryly, "I’ll buy this bar now and kick out all those n staring at her!"

"Buy, buy, buy, there’s nothing you can’t buy, buy it!"

Jas patted Lachlan’s chest, "Don’t be mad, don’t be mad, just be friends first! If you die of anger, who’s wish would that fulfill, plus it’s ntally and physically demanding!"

"..." More unwelco rhys; Lachlan clicked his tongue impatiently, then abruptly pulled away the lady beside Iris, sitting down next to her himself.
