891: Chapter 891: Fate Is Just That Coincidental 891: Chapter 891: Fate Is Just That Coincidental At noon, Lan Ning still went to have lunch with her other female colleagues, while Lu Yi could only hide and secretly watch, feeling incredibly anxious but too embarrassed to approach.

“What should I do?

What should I do?” Lu Yi scratched his head, suddenly rembering that his good friend Gu Fan had once talked about two colleagues, Lin Xi and Leng Le, who had so experience in this area and could teach him a thing or two.

Just as Lu Yi was about to pick up his phone, he hesitated, because if he told Gu Fan, then Gu Fan would surely tell Su Hui and inform Gu Ling.

This would an many people would learn about his secret crush on a female coworker.

“Forget it!” Lu Yi put away his phone, deciding to try figuring things out on his own.

As ti ticked away into the afternoon, Lu Yi was busy with work, occasionally exchanging a few inconsequential words with Lan Ning but making no other progress, seeing no hope of taking their relationship any further.

After work, closing the door, Lu Yi walked out of the office with a dejected look on his face.

However, he smiled when he saw his good friend Jie had been waiting for him at the entrance for quite a while.

Lu Yi had dinner with Jie, who kept inquiring about what exactly had happened with Gu Fan, wanting to know why Gu Fan didn’t confide in him and if he was no longer trusted.

Lu Yi didn’t know what Gu Fan was thinking; he speculated that Gu Fan might be worried that if there were a conflict with the big boss later on, it was very likely that there would be a violent clash with Hai, leaving Jie unsure how to face it.

Jie frowned, having considered this issue before; indeed, it was a difficult situation, no longer as simple as taking sides with whoever was right.

Lu Yi reassured Jie not to overthink it because they both understood Gu Fan well; Gu Fan would absolutely not distrust a brother who had been through life and death situations with him.

As the two chatted for a long ti, unaware of the ti passing, the sky dimd.

Noticing it was getting late, they paid the bill and left the restaurant.

Lu Yi reached for his wallet only to find he had forgotten his keys at the office, so he decided to go back since it wasn’t far.

Jie accompanied Lu Yi, and they quickly arrived at the bank.

They planned to enter the office area through the side door, but then they heard a voice from behind, “Hey, Lu Yi, how co you haven’t left yet?”

“That voice, couldn’t be mistaken?” Lu Yi turned around in surprise, and indeed it was Lan Ning.

Then Lu Yi replied, “I forgot my keys in the office, so I ca back to get them.

What about you?”

Lan Ning flashed a smile, “What a coincidence.

I forgot my keys in the office too.

I didn’t realize until I got ho, so I rushed back.”

“Yeah, such a coincidence, you both forget your keys in the office on the sa day and bumped into each other while coming back for them.

That’s fate,” Jie said, feigning a wistful tone, which made Lu Yi and Lan Ning sowhat embarrassed.

Changing the subject, Lan Ning said, “Lu Yi, this is your friend, right?

He seems to have been here today.”

“Yes, my friend…” Lu Yi hadn’t finished speaking when Jie eagerly introduced himself, “Hello, my na is Jie, and I am a good person.”

Hearing this, Lan Ning couldn’t help but laugh; it’s not common to introduce oneself as a good person right off the bat.

The three of them chatted briefly and then walked toward the office together, but Lan Ning was a bit ahead, leading the way.

From behind, Jie gazed at Lan Ning’s graceful figure, entranced, and then whispered to Lu Yi, “This girl is no worse than Yang Xinran.

You really shouldn’t miss out.”

Lu Yi imdiately clarified, “What are you saying, we’re just colleagues.”

Jie shook his head, “Do you know why Gu Fan was happily dating in college while we remained single?

Because he bravely pursued what and who he liked, while we were too timid in front of the girls we fancied, missing out one after the other.

So, I don’t want to miss out this ti—if you don’t make a move, I might.”

Upon hearing this, Lu Yi fell into thought.

He didn’t want to miss out on Lan Ning either, but she was so beautiful, and Lu Yi always felt as though he wasn’t worthy of her.

At that mont, Lan Ning had reached the office door, successfully entered the correct code into the keypad, and the door opened.

The three entered the office area, which was pitch black and impossible to see anything until Lu Yi, knowing his way around, switched on the lights, illuminating everything clearly.

Lan Ning went to her desk, retrieved her keys, and Lu Yi found his as well.

“All right, let’s go,” Lan Ning led the way out, with Lu Yi and Jie following.

However, as Lu Yi passed by a leader’s office, he glanced through the glass and noticed that the placent of the files was off, not matching how they were when he left work.

“Did the leader co back?” Lu Yi wondered, and then he gently pushed the office door, which, to his shock, opened; he had checked when he left work that the door was closed.

Seeing Lu Yi’s astonished face, Jie ca over to ask, “What’s wrong, what happened?”

“It should be nothing,” Lu Yi considered the possibility that the leader might have forgotten sothing and ca back for it.

Lan Ning comnted, “Are you two coming or not?

Let treat you to sothing to eat or drink.”

Jie got excited, “How could we let a beautiful lady pick up the tab?

I’ll treat you; consider it a first-day acquaintance gift.”

“Alright, then thank you,” Lan Ning said cheerfully, and then she and Jie hastened Lu Yi to hurry up.

The thought of an opportunity to eat and drink with Lan Ning, getting closer to her, imdiately cheered Lu Yi up, and he pushed all his doubts to the back of his mind.

Just as Lu Yi, Jie, and Lan Ning were about to leave the office, Jie noticed that the surveillance cara at the doorway was covered by a piece of paper.

“How can this be?” Lu Yi was utterly surprised; he had checked everything before leaving work, and it had been normal.

“Is there a problem, a problem?” Lu Yi turned back, looked over the office area with a deep frown.

Seeing Lu Yi’s tense expression, Lan Ning grew puzzled, “What’s wrong, Lu Yi?

You look troubled, what’s the matter?”

Lu Yi gestured for silence, signaling for everyone to be quiet, then tiptoed back into the office area cautiously.

“Could there be a thief?” Jie also beca nervous, clenching his fists and looking around for potential weapons.

At that mont, a person wearing a mask suddenly jumped out from behind a desk, their movents fast and startling, giving all three a fright.
