Before they could leave the house, a series of eerie screams echoed, like wailing ghosts and howling wolves.
The terrifying sound filled the house, adding more tension to the already disturbing atmosphere.
The screams gradually grew shriller, giving the feeling as if soone was shouting directly into their ears, making Gu Fan and Qian Ye incredibly anxious.
“You think these petty tricks can intimidate ?” Qian Ye’s eyes sparkled with sternness.
She moved her hands to form a seal, whispered a few incantations to herself, and then scattered so white powder from her pocket around the room.
Gu Fan had hardly understood what was happening when he saw the white powder suspended in the air, illuminating silhouettes of people.
“You bunch, show yourselves or scram!” With mighty words from Qian Ye, the phantom-like figures vanished in terror, running for their lives.

She and Gu Fan stepped out seeing empty streets, and the lack of human presence.

But we should be prepared that the return path might no longer exist.
Su Hui said, no matter which way we’ll take, we’ll end up back here.
So I’m wondering, should we set this place on fire?” He purposely spoke the final part loudly, intending for the town’s people to hear.
Unable to hold back his laughter, Qian Ye said, “Kid, you’re trying to stir up greater trouble aren’t you?
