687: Chapter 687: Running Everywhere 687: Chapter 687: Running Everywhere Currently, Gu Fan, Lu Yi, Jie, Xu Haowen, and two rmaids were huddled together in an indecorous and undignified pose.
Yet the situation was so dire, who had the leisure to care about appearances
As they landed on the huge statue and rolled down it, it seed that gravity was doing them a favor against the rmaids.
Lin Xi wanted to rush over and help but she was swimming too slowly, she could only watch helplessly as Gu Fan and company sank deeper into the sea, anxiety filling her heart.
At that mont, Gu Fan caught sight of Lin Xi, and a burning desire to survive welled up within him.
Silently he muttered to himself: “Sorry guys, it’s every man for himself now.”
Suddenly, Gu Fan struggled an arm free, pulling out his shock stick.
He would never use such a drastic asure if he wasn’t desperate.
As soon as the shock stick touched the rmaids, he pressed the switch.
Instantly the electrical current flowed through their bodies, causing every one of them, human or rmaid, to convulse uncontrollably.
Particularly as they still had their snorkels in their mouths, causing them to make choking noises.
Fortunately, even though their grip on the snorkels loosened, the snorkels were still in their mouths.
But they had lost their hold on the rmaids.
Having encountered the painful shock of electricity, the rmaids beca fearful and swiftly swam away, allowing Gu Fan and his friends to temporarily escape the danger.
Just as Lin Xi was about to swim over to them, she felt sothing approaching from the side.
Before she had a chance to see what it was, another rmaid ramd into her from the side, its speed and montum were incredible.
Caught off guard, Lin Xi was carried away by the rmaid, she was pushed backward until she slamd into the statue.
The impact, even underwater, was staggering.
The force of the blow caused Lin Xi to lose her hold on her snorkel and she inadvertently gulped in seawater.
Her resistance weakened and her situation beca dire.
This ti it was Gu Fan who wanted to rescue her, but he was also moving too slowly, and he despaired in his helplessness.
Just as the rmaid seized Lin Xi’s arm and tried to drag her deeper into the sea, a stream of water hit the rmaid like a bullet, piercing through its body.
It was Qian Feng who finally took action at this mont, saving Lin Xi’s life just in ti.
Gu Fan was imnsely grateful and all past grudges were forgotten, for now.
Lin Xi hastily grabbed the snorkel and stuffed it back into her mouth, taking a few much-needed breaths.
The previous monts were utterly terrifying, she was close to thinking it was the end for her.
Gu Fan, Lu Yi, Jie, and Xu Haowen also swam up to Lin Xi, feeling sowhat relieved at the presence of their companions.
Seeing that Lin Xi was alright, Gu Fan relaxed.
Looking back, he found the scene was pure chaos.
Everyone was running for their lives, but the way to the surface was blocked.
Their only option was to weave in and out among the statues, hoping to avoid the rmaids for a while.
The boss was most heroic.
After the rmaids had learned their lesson with a few of their numbers injured or dead, they changed strategy.
A dozen or so rmaids started to circle him, faster and faster, creating stronger and stronger currents.
Gradually the boss could no longer resist, he was swept up by the current, spinning uncontrollably and helplessly in the sa spot.
His predicant was incredibly difficult.
When boss’ fighting power diminished, dozens of rmaids surged forward, seizing his limbs, tearing at his flesh, removing his snorkel.
Even his oxygen tube was torn to shreds.
Like this, the boss was carried off by the rmaids, leaving a trail of blood behind him.
His powers were of no use to him.
Although Gu Fan knew that the boss was immortal and couldn’t die, he wondered if he would be trapped under the sea forever.
Moreover, the fact that even the boss couldn’t win made the situation seem even grimr.
Qian Xue cast a spell immobilizing two rmaids, but a third one surged up from below, grabbed her ankle, and started to drag her down into the deep sea.
Frightened by this, Qian Xue quickly cast another spell immobilizing the third rmaid, but as she focused on that, a fourth rmaid swam up to her.
Swinging its tail, it gave her a hefty bump on her head.
And Qian Xue fainted.
On land, Qian Xue only had to worry about attacks from the front, back, left and right.
Now, underwater, she had to add up and down to the directions she must beware of.
Additionally, her movents were much slower in the water, making it harder for her to react in ti to dangers.
Thus, Qian Xue found herself defeated.
Luckily, Qian Feng acted swiftly, casting a protective barrier around Qian Xue and herself.
Then, manipulating the water currents, she started to push them towards the surface, intending to escape the area.
Seeing that even Qian Feng couldn’t win and chose to run, everyone else fell into despair.
They started to exert all their energy in a desperate attempt to swim upwards, but no matter how fast they swam, they couldn’t outrun the rmaids.
Before escaping, Qian Feng cast a last, worried look at Lin Xi’s direction.
When more and more rmaids started to flood in from all sides, she had no choice but to abandon the idea of helping Lin Xi.
Noticing that Qian Xue remained unconscious on the side, Qian Feng had no other option but to run first.
“Qian Ye, I will distract their attention for you.
Whether you survive this will depend on your own luck.
Don’t die too easily, we still have scores to settle.” Before running away, Qian Feng created a massive disturbance, stirring up chaotic currents around her that sent the rmaids tumbling head over tail.
This successfully angered the rmaids who all swam in pursuit of Qian Feng, as if they wouldn’t permit anyone to escape.
Upon seeing that Qian Feng had attracted the attention of the rmaid majority, Gu Fan realized that this was a rare opportunity.
They had to find a safe hiding place and wait for the tumult to pass before they could return to the surface.
With no other choice, Gu Fan, Lin Xi, and the rest of the group could only hide behind the statues to escape danger.
However, the bubbles that popped out of their mouths could easily guide the rmaids towards them.
At this mont, Hai led a few people as they fled towards this area and ran into Gu Fan and the rest of the group.
After exchanging glances, they imdiately understood each other it seed everyone was about to share the sa fate.
Gu Fan spotted a partially closed door within a carved structure, it looked as though it could be fully opened to provide an escape route.
Hai also noticed the door and glanced at Gu Fan, conveying the fact that hiding was not a long-term solution and sooner or later, they would be found.
Gu Fan responded by gesturing for everyone to follow.
With their situation so desperate, they decided to take a gamble.
Everyone followed Gu Fan’s lead and began to move towards the partially open door.
However, before they could reach it, they were discovered by two rmaids who, excited by their discovery, flicked their tails and swam towards them swiftly.
“Oh my god, can’t believe we got discovered so quickly.” Everyone was trying to swim faster.
But movent underwater was inherently difficult, they could do nothing but watch as the rmaids closed in on them.
Waves of fear and despair washed over them.
