564: Chapter 564: A Haze 564: Chapter 564: A Haze At that mont, Gu Fan, Lu Yi, Jie, Xu Haowen, Du Jun, and Ouyang Jin were all taken hostage.

Seeing the weapons and the nacing look of the pirates, everyone was terrified.

They had heard stories of hostages not faring well if the pirates didn’t receive the ransoms they demanded.

Naturally, no one wanted to et such ill fate.

Just then, Qiao Ya stood up with his hands raised high, imdiately drawing the pirates’ alertness as they aid their guns at him.

Qiao Ya calmly uttered sothing, causing the pirate to frown.

He said sothing else which made the pirate hesitate for a mont before walking away with Qiao Ya.

Gu Fan was puzzled.

As the language was foreign, he couldn’t understand what Qiao Ya had said, but noticed that the pirates’ attitude towards Qiao Ya seed less hostile now.

Ouyang Jin leaned over to Gu Fan and whispered, “My timing for boarding your ship couldn’t be worse, Gu Fan.

Given the gravity of this crisis, risk should correspond to reward.

I’m asking for another ten thousand.”

“Your timing for negotiation is a bit off,” Gu Fan said, shaking his head in amusent and disbelief at the audacity of his teammate.

Gu Fan and Ouyang Jin’s whispering drew the attention of a pirate, who swiftly pivoted his gun towards them.

They couldn’t understand his warning but the nacing tone was enough to silence them completely.

When Gu Fan saw a pirate approaching, he knew an opportunity had presented itself.

He was confident he could take this pirate but there were three other pirates stationed elsewhere, complicating matters.

He doubted his ability to incapacitate all four pirates at once.

It would require the others’ cooperation and if any pirate remained untouched, they’d be sitting ducks.

The stakes were too high, so Gu Fan dared not take the risk.

“What to do, what to do, no certainty,” Gu Fan murmured under his breath.

His heart raced as he glanced at the pirate standing beside him, trying to signal his comrades subtly.

Lu Yi and Jie got the hint.

They reciprocated with a glance, indicating their readiness to cooperate.

But Du Jun found the plan too risky, shook his head slightly, signalling Gu Fan not to act recklessly.

Suddenly, a pirate seed to notice sothing unusual outside the window.

He pointed and said sothing, making the other pirates curious as they all crowded around the window.

Seeing all four pirates lining up by the window, Gu Fan knew his chance had co.

He took a deep breath, then charged towards them.

The pirates didn’t expect anyone to dare take such a risk in their brief lapse of attention.

By the ti they realized sothing was amiss, it was too late.

Gu Fan made a run-up, leapt, and slamd the heads of the two pirates in the middle against the window, shattering the glass.

The impact left the pirates montarily dazed.

The pirate on the far right and the one on the far left instantly aid their guns at Gu Fan, but the unconscious bodies of their comrades obstructed their aim.

If a bullet was misfired, they risked shooting each other.

Capitalizing on this advantage, Gu Fan grabbed the barrels of both guns and hoisted them high, ensuring they couldn’t hit him.

“Charge!” With Lu Yi’s resounding cry, everyone rushed forward, tackling the four pirates and winning by numbers.

Everyone had nothing but respect for Gu Fan’s skill and courage once the pirates were taken care of.

Du Jun, however, chided Gu Fan for gambling with everyone’s lives.

Gu Fan apologized profusely for his impulsiveness.

He then noticed a thick fog rolling towards them along the ship’s path.

It seed like the unusual sight that had distracted the pirates earlier.

The three pirates in the control room, who had witnessed Gu Fan’s heroic act on the monitor, grew desperate.

They quickly grabbed the walkie-talkie, intending to warn the others.

There was a loud bang—the door to the control room was kicked open and in stord Lin Xi, sending a shockwave that instantly knocked out the three pirates.

The pirates never expected these won to make it to the control room so swiftly.

Unfamiliar with the layout of the ship, even after noticing the won on the monitors, they failed to realize their destination.

They were caught completely off guard.

Seeing through the monitors that Gu Fan and the rest were safe and had taken down the pirates, Lin Xi was ecstatic.

“That’s Gu Fan for you.

I knew worrying about him was futile.” Su Hui voiced her admiration, just as Qin Jia asked, “Xiaoling, are you okay?

You look pale.”

Lin Xi and Su Hui imdiately turned to Xiaoling, who was trembling, her face deathly pale.

“We can’t go on, there’s danger ahead.

We’re all in danger – you, , everyone on this boat, even the pirates.”

anwhile, the captain and his crew, under the pirates’ watchful eyes, were steering the freighter in the direction demanded by the pirates.

They noticed an abnormal layer of fog looming ahead.

“It’s dangerous to navigate in heavy fog, we can’t proceed this way,” said the captain.

The pirate interjected aggressively saying, “What danger?

We frequent these waters and know them like the back of our hand.

Do as I say, keep moving forward.”

“But…” The captain tried to argue, but was silenced by the pirate who shoved his gun against the captain’s temple, threatening, “Do as you’re told if you value your life.”

“Fine, I’ll do as you say.” The captain had to relent.

He realized they had deviated from the Triangle Sea Area and Sanqian Island’s periter and were now in the central region – alleged pirate territories.

Why the central region of the Triangle Sea Area hadn’t been cleared of pirates was due to the fact no one dared venture into the heart of Sanqian Island.

Those who did, hardly ever ca back.

If the rcenaries had failed in their mission, it was unthinkable for all of them to perish.

There should have been at least one or two survivors.

But the fact that not a single soul ca back was terrifying.

Now the pirates were coercing the captain to steer the freighter into the central region.

It was evident they were nervous too, as if sensing danger ahead.

Another pirate tried to dissuade them from going further, but the rest believed they could risk it since they were almost at their island, where they’d be safe.
