521: 521 521: 521 Gu Fan is now facing three problems that need solving.

The first one is the need to figure out the secrets hidden in this old house.

However, if the elders are keeping mum about it, it might be quite difficult to uncover.

Gu Fan doesn’t expect that his parents would tell him, so he plans to ask for help from relatives.

But the question is, where are his relatives, like his uncles, at?

This is really a headache.

Secondly, Gu Fan needs to find the last household among the six, and gain their support.

The third issue is that now, it’s the final sester of his senior year, and many people have already found internship jobs.

But Gu Fan, being occupied with these problems, hasn’t even begun his job hunt yet.

As far as he knows, Lu Yi and Jie have found theirs, and Lin Xi, who has submitted quite a few resus, is going for an interview today.

Gu Fan thought to himself, given Lin Xi’s abilities, she would definitely be hired, wouldn’t she?

An hour later, just as expected, Lin Xi received a job offer and headed to the HR departnt of a large corporate.

Gu Fan congratulated Lin Xi on her successful job hunt and promptly suggested that they celebrate with a great al.

They’ve been so busy dealing with nurous issues that they hadn’t been able to go on a proper date.

Lin Xi readily agreed, especially as a hot pot al would be perfect in winter.

While they dined and chatted, Gu Fan asked Lin Xi about her future job—what it entailed, her salary, and so on.

Lin Xi answered Gu Fan’s questions and urged him to start looking for internships and gain so experience, which would help him land a better job in the future.

“I want to, but it seems like I really need to start looking for jobs soon.” Gu Fan seed sowhat distressed.

He suddenly felt overwheld with so much to do.

Perceiving Gu Fan’s worries, Lin Xi said, “It’s okay, stop bearing everything on your own.

I’ll help you.

Also, things have been peaceful with the Boss and Qian Feng recently.

That’s all the more reason for you to focus on finding an internship now.”

“You’re right.

I’ll listen to you.

But…

I heard that many of my classmates who are pursuing the sa major haven’t found ideal jobs.” Gu Fan seed a bit disconcerted.

He had spent four years studying for his major, wanting more than just a diploma.

He aspired to make good use of what he had learned.

Gu Fan majored in economics and finance, and Lin Xi in public administration.

They only attended the sa class when they were taking up an elective course.

Lin Xi is beautiful, has a good figure and deanour, and is also capable of good communication.

Her solid grasp of her professional knowledge made her quite suitable for administration jobs, thus, finding a job was relatively easy for her.

As for GuFan, the future seed dubious.

Several of his fellow economics and finance majors either ended up at banks selling financial products or at insurance companies selling insurance products.

It felt like they were just in sales.

Lin Xi reassured him, “With so many graduates every year, being able to find a job at all is already good enough.

Finding an ideal job is even more challenging.

Just start with what you get, gain so experience, and look for your ideal job later.”

Gu Fan thought Lin Xi was reasonable but wondered if selling insurance and financial products might pigeonhole him into a sales role with no room for change.

Gu Fan’s dream was to be like the economists on TV who go on and on about how society should make money, offering deep insights into the economic developnt of a place or a city.

But looking at the grey-haired economists on TV made Gu Fan realise that this would require two to three decades of accumulation.

This reminded Gu Fan that he needed to take one step at a ti and keep his feet on the ground.

Lin Xi comforted him, “Okay, don’t overthink.

Just go back and work on so resus today.

Submit as many as you can.

Who knows, even a blind cat could catch a dead rat.”

“Yeah, I hope my luck continues,” Gu Fan decided to follow Lin Xi’s advice.

After dinner, Gu Fan noticed that it was already quite late.

After dropping Lin Xi ho, he hurried to his own house, barely noticing his sister, Xiaoling and her friend Su Hui, chattering away.

On seeing Gu Fan’s return, Xiaoling, still upset at being called a traitor, made an angry face at Gu Fan, hoping he would co and coax her.

But Gu Fan, with his mind preoccupied with resus and job hunting, rely greeted her, “Hey Xiaoling, you’ve moved back?

Good.” and then Gu Fan rushed upstairs.

This infuriated Xiaoling, while Su Hui couldn’t help asking, “Gu Fan, what are you in such a hurry for?”

“I’ve realised I’m already out of ti.

I need to find an internship fast.

Nobody disturb tonight.” Having said this, Gu Fan ran into his room, switched on his computer, and started filling out resus seriously.

He wrote down all the trivia that added to his credentials, like his excellent performance as a student representative, and then started mass submitting his resu in hopes of finding an admirer among the teeming masses.

After a long night’s work, Gu Fan finally finished.

Seeing it was almost dawn, he dropped into bed, hopeful of receiving an interview invitation the next day.

The next day, despite the bone-chilling cold, Gu Fan awoke early and cooked breakfast for Su Hui and Xiaoling.

This surprised Su Hui and Xiaoling.

A person who loved to sleep in like Gu Fan was behaving so uncharacteristically today.

Could it be that Gu Fan had been switched with soone else?

When asked, Gu Fan explained that he wanted to remain alert and not miss any interview calls due to grogginess.

He didn’t want to leave a bad first impression on the recruiters.

Understanding how excited Gu Fan was to start job hunting for the first ti, Su Hui assured him that this newfound fervour wouldn’t last more than three days.

Gu Fan doubted it.

After all, he was full of anticipation about life and the future.

He was itching to storm the job market with high spirits.

Xiaoling shook her head and said, “Bro, I hate to burst your bubble, but when you attended your first day of university, you vowed to excel there, to stand out, to really do sothing big.

And what about now?

All you’ve been doing is dawdling.”

Gu Fan retorted imdiately, “When did I ever dawdle?

I’ve been serious about my studies.

I got my money’s worth for the tuition my parents paid.”

“Yes, but is there a big gap between what you initially vowed to do at university and what you’ve done so far?” Xiaoling’s remarks brought Gu Fan down a peg.

Even though he studied diligently, there was indeed quite a gap between his actual achievents and his initial goals.

He had not received any recognition from his professors and probably couldn’t graduate as a notable student.

Quickly shoving a slice of bread into Xiaoling’s mouth, Gu Fan said, “Eat this quickly, hurry to school, and don’t let your negativity affect my job hunting.”

“My brother is really annoying.” In the end, a sulking Xiaoling was shoved out the door by Gu Fan.
