397: Chapter 397: Stand Up For Justice 397: Chapter 397: Stand Up For Justice In the evening, inside the college girls’ dormitory, Lin Xi was enthusiastically exchanging text ssages with Gu Fan.

They were going back and forth in their conversation, and she couldn’t help giggling gleefully.

Her roommates were aware that Lin Xi was back with Gu Fan.

They found it puzzling that the two could break up and reconcile so easily; their relationship seed more like a ga than a romance.

Yang Xinran, who had just moved into this dormitory, comnted, “Lin Xi, looking at how you giggle, I feel like you and Gu Fan just fell in love.”

“Really?” Lin Xi didn’t care and continued texting Gu Fan.

“Lin Xi, you’ve been so absorbed in dating Gu Fan that you’ve been neglecting the dance club’s activities.

Although Du Jun isn’t around, everyone suggested that you be the new club president.

But it seems like you’re more interested in your relationship.” Yang Xinran didn’t continue, but her aningful gaze and words sat poorly with Lin Xi.

It dawned on Lin Xi that Yang Xinran was trying to take power.

She wanted to be the new president of the dance club.

“Yes, I have been a little busy lately.

But who isn’t?

Can you, Yang Xinran, honestly say that you’ve always been free enough to attend the dance club’s activities?” Lin Xi fired back, her gaze full of defiance, imdiately putting Yang Xinran in her place.

Yang Xinran was not happy with being sidelined: “Even though I’m busy too, I wouldn’t neglect the club’s activities like you have.

A lot of people, not just , wouldn’t agree to let you be the new president.”

“Really?” Lin Xi put down her phone, appearing deep in thought.

Then a aningful smile crossed her face, “You’re right, I have been neglecting the club’s activities.

But don’t worry, I’ll change that.

I’ll show you how to be a competent president.”

Yang Xinran huffed, “Who’s president?

Everyone hasn’t agreed yet.”

Lin Xi just shook her head, “Don’t forget, being a president is about responsibility and commitnt.”

“Do you have that responsibility and commitnt?

You haven’t been to the dance club or participated in activities for a long ti.” Yang Xinran was determined to overco Lin Xi and clear her biggest obstacle to becoming the new president.

Lin Xi coyly answered, “Don’t forget, after the dance club mbers were missing, Gu Fan, Du Jun, and I risked our lives to bring you guys back.

If it were you, could you do the sa?

If you’re talking about commitnt, isn’t that commitnt?”

“I…” Yang Xinran was fuming.

Lin Xi added, “Don’t forget, Yang Xinran, about that incident when you asked to go to the multidia information center.

How can soone like you be a good president?”

Having no coback, Yang Xinran left the dormitory with her pride wounded.

After witnessing the confrontation, one roommate gently admonished, “Lin Xi, why create such an awkward situation?

We still have to live under the sa roof.”

Another chid in, “Why bla Lin Xi?

It was Yang Xinran who started the provocation.

Lin Xi, I support you.

You must beco the new president of the dance club, and then can my club mbership fee be reduced by half?”

“Haha, thanks for your support, but no.” Despite her feigned indifference, Lin Xi inwardly resented Yang Xinran.

She was an unpleasant roommate.

Lin Xi wondered if Du Jun could make Yang Xinran disappear again.

anwhile, feeling upset, Yang Xinran went out to shop and tried to improve her mood.

However, she encountered a closed mall which led to her becoming even more disgruntled.

Yang Xinran didn’t want to return to the dormitory.

Instead, she decided to stay out and play gas on her phone.

A group of ruffians passed by and noticed Yang Xinran’s attractiveness.

They decided to approach her, “Hey, beauty, why are you alone this late?”

Yang Xinran didn’t pay them any attention and continued playing her ga.

However, the gang started getting uncomfortably close to her, prompting her to say, “Please keep your distance.”

The hooligans acted surprised, “Keep our distance?

How would we protect you then?”

Yang Xinran put down her phone, looked disgusted, and tried to walk away.

However, the n continued to follow her closely, barraging her with rude comnts.

“Don’t go yet, beauty.

How about we exchange contact info?

We might find common interests, let’s be friends.” The shaless hoodlums continued their harassnt.

Scared, Yang Xinran quickened her pace.

She was surrounded on all sides.

Quickly, she tried to reach for her phone.

One of them snatched her phone, “Since you won’t give your number, I’ll just take it.”

“What are you doing?

Give my phone back.” Yang Xinran was both angry and scared.

She regretted being out alone so late and found herself in an empty street.

“Why the rush, beauty?

I’ll sort out your contact and give you back your phone.” The gangsters snickered, and even tried to touch Yang Xinran.

“Hey, beauty, we’re not bad guys.

We just want to be friends.

Why do you push us away?” One of them even tried to touch her shoulder.

It was impossible to know what they would do next.

Feeling like a sheep amongst wolves, Yang Xinran saw no way out.

Just when she was about to break down crying, a stern voice shouted, “What are you doing?

Leave now, or we’ll call the police.”

The gangsters took off, finding the situation unfavorable.

Apart from bullying the few, they had no real courage.

Four n and a woman ca to Yang Xinran’s rescue, which she deeply appreciated.

Seeing that Yang Xinran was ok, the group of samaritans left, reminding her to return to campus and not to linger outside so late.

Yang Xinran thanked them profusely.

She felt ward by the fact that there were still good people in the world.

If not for their intervention, she could have been in serious trouble tonight, the potential consequences too horrifying to contemplate.

However, among the group of four n and one woman who helped her, it appeared that all the n were centered around the short-haired woman.

It was evident that they were interested in her.
