Chapter 1737: Chapter 1737: Places Visited

The sun was shining brightly that day, and the air was fresh. Gu Fan once again arrived at this deserted town, followed by his daughter, Gu Xiaojin.

Gu Xiaojin looked around and saw many buildings had collapsed, practically a ruin. Even if she used all her imagination to recreate the town’s appearance in her mind, it was just an ordinary town. Could there really be so major secret hidden here?

Gu Fan didn’t say much, silently walking along the street overgrown with weeds. It had to be said that the vitality of plants is really strong; even when covered by cent, as long as there’s a crack, the seeds will sprout and grow towards the sun.

The empty deserted town hosted only Gu Fan and Gu Xiaojin, and the surrounding silence amplified the sound of their footsteps and their breathing.

Finally, Gu Fan found that row of connected houses using his mory, although they were also completely collapsed. He could only recognize it through that strange arrangent.

“Is this the place?” Gu Xiaojin asked Gu Fan, and he nodded.

Instead of walking around, the father and daughter flew over the row of houses, landing in the forest behind them.

Due to the drastic changes in the deserted town, with many buildings collapsed, Gu Fan’s mory of the town’s streets and building arrangents was vague. Seeing from the air made it hard to discern, so Gu Fan chose to walk, using the sa visual angle from back then to find the traces of the past.

Upon entering the forest, Gu Fan and Gu Xiaojin skipped the walking part, directly leaping to the cliff behind the woods.

“It’s right here!” Gu Fan looked at the scene before him, a towering mountain blocking his way.

Gu Xiaojin was puzzled, “Dad, you said you were deceived before, that what you experienced in this town was real, not an illusion. How do you explain what those classmates said to you?”

Gu Fan speculated, “It’s possible so forces manipulated things to cover up the secret of this town, such as giving those classmates special shots to make them truly hallucinate. Thus, they can’t distinguish between what’s real and what’s not, and another reason is that those classmates were called for a talk and willingly cooperated to conceal the truth here.”

Listening to this, Gu Xiaojin still felt sothing was off. No matter how so forces covered up the truth, since they manipulated those classmates, they would likely have done sothing to Gu Fan, too.

If so forces held talks with classmates, asking them to cooperate and not reveal the secret here, it stands to reason they would have spoken with Gu Fan as well. Why was Gu Fan the one left out?”

Gu Fan shook his head, “Things aren’t that simple. If this really happened, then the mysterious masked figure ntioned by the Werewolf really exists, and if I’m not mistaken, that mysterious masked figure is now the Dark Lord, perhaps another version of .”

Gu Xiaojin began to understand. Everything Gu Fan experienced during his high school days at this deserted town might have been orchestrated by the mysterious masked figure, who is the future Gu Fan.

“You arranged for to experience all this and then worked hard to cover it up. What exactly are you trying to do?” Gu Fan was curious, reaching out to feel the rock face.

Gu Fan thought, during high school he didn’t quite understand, but now he knew. With the technology of the ti, it could indeed hide the door on the cliff.

With a simple punch, Gu Fan shattered the rock, revealing a large black door.

At the side, Gu Xiaojin clapped and cheered, “Dad, you’re amazing! You broke the rock with just one punch.”

To this, Gu Fan smiled indifferently, “It’s nothing special. It’s just a result of having great strength. What was really impressive was those people back then. To cover up this cliff door, they cut a rock of the sa size and placed it in front of the door, making it seamless and indistinguishable from the surrounding rocks, like it was all one piece.”

Hearing this, Gu Xiaojin thought it made sense. Anything ticulously calculated and crafted by skilled artisans is indeed impressive.

“Alright, let’s go in and take a look!” Gu Fan said and took out a flashlight, step by step entering the passage.

“Dad, wait for , I’m afraid of the dark.” Gu Xiaojin quickly followed.

Although the two had formidable abilities, and should fear nothing, in the dark and eerie environnt, Gu Xiaojin couldn’t help feeling a bit uneasy.

As she walked, Gu Xiaojin leaned towards Gu Fan, even sticking close to him, uttering, “Dad, you’re amazing, rember to protect .”

“Alright…” Gu Fan was actually quite worried, wondering what awaited him after being led here once more.

Curious, Gu Xiaojin asked Gu Fan, “Dad, why did Aunt Li Shi ask you to co here?”

“How would I know, but since she asked to co, I did.” Gu Fan had a whatever attitude, his pace gradually quickening as if fully overcoming his inner hesitation.

Gu Fan added, “Back then, when I first ca here, so many things happened, and Li Shi and I both thought of ways to leave. We barely explored the place.”

“Isn’t that strange? After all the effort spent luring you to this small town within the mountain, when you left nothing special happened, and you didn’t change at all. It doesn’t add up.” Gu Xiaojin thought about it repeatedly, feeling the mysterious masked figure did sothing unnecessary.

But Gu Fan didn’t think so, “Since Li Shi and I separated at this town, we’ve been apart. She suddenly transferred, and I felt very…”

“You felt very disappointed, right?” Gu Xiaojin snorted, sowhat displeased, “So, your true affection was for Aunt Li Shi. If Mom knew, she’d be sad.”

“Actually…” Gu Fan pondered, unsure how to explain this complicated relationship. Should he tell Gu Xiaojin his greatest love was not Li Shi, or Su Hui, but Gu Xiaojin’s previous life?

Yet Gu Xiaojin was curious, “Actually, could it be you secretly loved soone else, Dad?”

“This…” Gu Fan was taken aback, observing Gu Xiaojin’s curious gaze, her mouth slightly smiling, eerily resembling Lin Xi.

For a mont, Gu Fan had an illusion, wondering if Gu Xiaojin had regained her previous life mories and was testing him with words.

It’s definitely possible, since Lin Xi rembered mories of her past life as Qian Ye, Gu Xiaojin might recall mories of her past life as Lin Xi.

“No, please no,” Gu Fan felt overwheld by the increasingly complex relationships, fearing how to interact with Gu Xiaojin then.
