Chapter 1666: Chapter 1666: The Bird People Have Arrived

Gu Fan had already flown into the sky, overlooking the pitch-black night sky and the earth below, keeping his ears perked to listen for any sounds.

The wind howled fiercely, and the sounds of battle below were crystal clear. Besides that, Gu Fan heard nothing else.

Gu Fan folded his arms, faced in the direction of Demon Hunting Island, and continued to sharpen his senses.

Ti passed bit by bit, but Gu Fan was patient. He believed he would eventually hear what he was waiting for.

When the roaring of helicopters finally reached him, Gu Fan’s eyes snapped open. A smirk tugged at his lips as he imdiately darted toward the noise.

Dozens of helicopters from the X Legion were rushing toward the Resistance Army Headquarters, fully ard. The soldiers were gearing up eagerly, excited by the commander’s words that this would be a quick and easy fight. All they needed to do was take over the resistance base and then return to claim their accolades.

To the X Legion, the resistance forces were nothing more than a chaotic mob. With the enormous disparity in weaponry and power, this fight was as good as won.

As the X Legion soldiers brimd with confidence and enthusiasm, ready for a major victory, a sudden explosion ripped through one of their helicopters, sending it plumting to the ground in flas.

“What happened?” The mbers of the X Legion were bewildered, sensing that this was far from an ordinary accident.

Then, out of nowhere, another helicopter lost balance, as though struck by sothing. It spiraled out of control and crashed violently.

“What is that?” Soone spotted sothing darting through the air besides the helicopters. Whatever it was appeared to be targeting them directly.

The X Legion soldiers stared intently at the flying object, watching as it adjusted its position midair and then suddenly dove, slamming directly into another helicopter.

“Oh my god, what on earth is that?” Panic spread through the ranks of the X Legion. Their nerves were frayed, unable to comprehend the nature of the mysterious attacker. By now, a total of three helicopters had already been destroyed.

Terror gripped their hearts, quickened their breathing, and made their bodies tremble.

The assailant was too fast, appearing here and there unpredictably. With no way to defend themselves, they could only watch helplessly as a fourth helicopter was obliterated.

As despair set in, one person stepped forward. This individual was different. While everyone else was heavily ard, he wore a cloak that hid his body underneath.

The X Legion soldiers recognized him imdiately—a remould person. They knew remould persons had terrible tempers and treated him with cautious respect from afar.

“Look at you, trembling like scared children!” scoffed the black-winged humanoid with a cold smirk. He removed his cloak, revealing his body and face. His gaze was icy and sharp, and behind him unfurled a set of black wings.

The black-winged humanoid leapt from the helicopter, plumting rapidly. Just as it looked like he would crash to the ground, his wings spread wide, halting his descent instantly.

With a powerful flap of his black wings, the humanoid ascended into the sky, heading straight for the unidentified flying attacker.

At that mont, Gu Fan was darting through the air, looking for his next target—he had his sights set on the fifth helicopter. Suddenly, he saw an object speeding toward him. Judging by its shape and size, it didn’t seem like a helicopter; it was more like a person who could fly, just like himself.

“Oh my god, it really is!” Gu Fan noticed up close that the figure had wings. His instincts kicked in as he prepared for combat, but before he could react properly, the black-winged humanoid slamd into him at full speed.

Gu Fan spun chaotically through the air, unable to tell up from down, struggling to regain his balance after the dizzying impact.

The black-winged humanoid didn’t continue his pursuit but flapped his wings, maintaining his altitude at a distance while staring Gu Fan down. He had heard of a masked individual who had recently raided the Demon Hunting Island Base with remarkable skill. Now, this masked figure had just taken out four helicopters. They had to be one and the sa.

“How interesting. You’re a remould person too, aren’t you? Has Ning Qi never warned you about so important things?” Gu Fan began waving his arms, clearly signaling readiness for battle.

The black-winged humanoid replied flatly, “My mission is to protect the advancing troops. As long as I’m here, you won’t succeed.”

Gu Fan remained calm and remarked, “I’ve never thought that I could single-handedly stop your entire legion here. But I wonder, did you bring only helicopters this ti?”

Upon hearing this, the black-winged humanoid subconsciously glanced toward the ground, inadvertently leaking critical information.

“So that’s the location, huh? Thanks for the tip!” Gu Fan turned midair and sped off in the direction indicated by the black-winged humanoid’s gaze.

“Damn it!” The black-winged humanoid quickly realized he’d been tricked and imdiately flapped his wings in pursuit.

Both flew at breakneck speed, their movents rapid like shooting stars. While their speeds were nearly equal, Gu Fan’s head start kept him firmly in the lead.

The black-winged humanoid strained to close the gap little by little, but no matter how hard he pushed himself, he couldn’t shorten the distance drastically in one go. This situation was becoming increasingly dire.

Gu Fan, anwhile, maintained his intense pace, his eyes scanning the ground carefully. The relentless chase from the black-winged humanoid only confird that he was on the right track.

When Gu Fan noticed a series of vehicle lights illuminating the earth below, his heart swelled with excitent. Forgetting himself in his joy, he dove toward the ground headfirst, greeting his targets in an explosively direct manner.

Over fifty armored vehicles were maneuvering across the wide terrain, their wheels grinding against the earth and kicking up plus of dust. The sight of their formidable march carried an air of confidence—they, too, were fully prepared to eliminate the Resistance Army Headquarters.

Gu Fan descended like a missile, slamming into the ground with trendous force. The impact was so powerful that several armored vehicles were flipped over by the shockwave.

“What happened?” The entire convoy screeched to a halt as soldiers poured out of the vehicles and raced toward the site of the event.

Hovering midair, the black-winged humanoid chose to observe coldly from above rather than alerting the troops below to be cautious. After all, their opponent wasn’t an ordinary man. He wanted the soldiers of the X Legion to test the masked attacker’s abilities first.

By now, the site where the incident occurred had been thoroughly surrounded by X Legion soldiers, with dozens of weapons trained on the massive crater.

Gu Fan drifted out of the pit calmly, extending his hand in a friendly gesture. “I’m terribly sorry about that. I don’t usually descend in such a manner, so I ca in a bit too fast and couldn’t stop in ti. I hope you can forgive for the inconvenience.”

“Who the hell is this?” The X Legion soldiers were baffled, their nerves on edge. Who was this masked figure that had just single-handedly toppled several armored vehicles?

“Wow, you’ve lined up perfectly in a straight row. This is fantastic.” Gu Fan sprang into a ready stance, his eager expression suggesting that unstoppable power was coursing through him.

The black-winged humanoid caught on quickly and tried to issue a warning, but it was too late. Gu Fan had already set off, sprinting forward.

The armored vehicles were lined up neatly in a straight formation. All Gu Fan needed was a single charge, and he could overturn every last vehicle in one efficient blow.
