1472: Chapter 1472 Another Team Sets Off 1472: Chapter 1472 Another Team Sets Off In a corner of the Dark City, Su Hui was the first to jump onto the city wall, followed by everyone else.
Gu Ling, Qian Xue, Lin Yue, Hai, Irina, and the experts from the Hunter’s Guild were all extraordinary people; climbing a city wall was nothing difficult for them.
Only Lu Yi struggled, as he was the only one who needed a rope to slowly make his way up.
“Big brother, big sister, since you’re all experts, could you please help out and give a lift?” Lu Yi felt like crying, as amongst this crowd, he seed to be the weakest and most useless.
There were others, such as Li, Xue Xue, Ning Qi, and the rest who were guarding the weak Jie and the spell-casting Qian Ying, who did not co.
Everyone had gathered here to rescue Gu Fan.
It was all thanks to Helen, who risked delivering the intelligence to a few of her trusted subordinates outside, who in turn passed the information of Gu Fan being captured by Organization X to Lin Xi and Su Hui.
It was also a coincidence that four groups planning to attack the Dark City happened to et up, and thus Su Hui formulated a rescue plan.
The four strongest among them would launch a frontal assault on the Tower of Darkness to draw the enemy’s fire, while the rest would stealthily infiltrate the Dark City and then take a detour into the Tower of Darkness.
Additionally, they had to thank the mutant vampires, who not only helped everyone crush all of Organization X’s defenses but also left the Dark City in ruins.
Most of the surveillance and wiring were destroyed, so Organization X was unaware of the approaching surprise force.
Gu Ling’s perceptive abilities revealed the safest route to take, which was another reason why they hadn’t encountered any mutant vampires.
“Brother, once I’ve saved you, you better not underestimate again or leave without taking along,” Gu Ling thought happily about her imminent achievents.
Su Hui was the first to jump down, followed by Lin Yue, Qian Xue, Hai, Irina, and the rest.
As experts, they all displayed top form, making it look easy.
Lu Yi was the only one who had trouble both climbing up and coming down, complaining, “All of you only think of yourselves, just try and consider for once.”
The people from the Hunter’s Guild were sowhat speechless, wondering what persuaded them to allow soone of such ager strength to partake in such a critical battle.
But Lu Yi persisted; he had to be present to help his good brother.
His courage and loyalty were recognized by the Hunter’s Guild, even though they could hardly rely on his strength.
A marksman found an excellent sniping position and thus he separated from the group.
Soone suggested that Lu Yi should stay behind to support the marksman in surveillance, but Lu Yi refused.
He wanted to join the battle at the Tower of Darkness, dangerous as it may be.
Initially, the Hunter’s Guild was worried that Lu Yi’s lack of strength would hold everyone back, but Su Hui said, “Don’t underestimate Lu Yi.
When it’s the most dangerous, you might end up relying on him.”
“What?
Rely on him?” The people from the Hunter’s Guild were baffled and thought that was absurd.
If they faced dangers they could not handle with their strength, how could an ordinary person overco them?
However, Lu Yi, hearing this, was touched, “Thank you, Sister Su, for your high regard.”
Su Hui paused for a mont, sighed, and showed a resigned expression: “I was just saying it; you don’t need to take it seriously.”
“What?
Sister Su, even you look down on my abilities?” Lu Yi looked dejected, but he knew it wasn’t really about others underestimating him—he simply lacked the strength.
Under Gu Ling’s leadership, everyone wound through the alleys, step by step approaching the Tower of Darkness.
Frustratingly, the enemy was defending all around the tower, leaving no opportunity.
With no other option, they had to wait and hope for a chance to arise.
Hai appeared anxious, wishing he could stay and look after Jie, who had just woken up and was still weak.
When Jie heard that Gu Fan was here and in a dangerous situation, he wanted to help rescue this good friend.
Sadly, Jie hadn’t recovered his strength and felt helpless and frustrated.
After repeated requests from Jie, Hai decided to help.
If it weren’t for Gu Fan, he and his brother might not have escaped the Dark City, so they felt obliged to save him no matter what.
Owing a debt to Gu Fan and at Jie’s earnest request, as well as the big boss taking action, Hai finally chose to venture into the Dark City once more with the group.
Such a lineup might never co together again; how could they miss out on what was destined to be a fierce battle?
Now, with Gu Ling’s abilities restricted, they couldn’t enter the Tower of Darkness from the front.
So their hopes turned to Xue Yin.
This ti, Xue Yin would serve as their guide.
During her ti with Organization X, she had entered and exited the Tower of Darkness more than once.
In theory, the Tower of Darkness had only one entrance and exit, but in reality, there was a secret tunnel.
This was an old story.
Back then, Organization X’s rules were very strict, with death as the common punishnt.
A simple mistake would an gifting a person to the Xue Clan for their consumption.
So individuals who were constructing the Tower of Darkness secretly built an escape tunnel for ergencies.
However, the tunnel was only half-complete when the vampires, desperate for blood, had all the workers executed.
In other words, it was an unfinished secret tunnel.
Later, Organization X conducted experints with so vampires, who also beca fearful, especially when Xue Yin’s companions never returned from them.
Xue Yin and several vampires discovered the unfinished tunnel and continued digging, planning to escape from Organization X’s control.
Unfortunately, the tunnel was still incomplete when Xue Yin was taken for experintation.
Based on Xue Yin’s estimation, the tunnel’s location should be beneath a nearby house.
Led by Xue Yin, everyone arrived at the house, which was empty due to the mutant vampires’ attack.
“I’m not exactly sure, it might be here, or it might not,” said Xue Yin, uncertain about the precise location of the secret tunnel.
But Su Hui was undeterred, ordering everyone to start digging.
As experts, they used tools if available, or else their fists.
With hamrs and shovels in hand, they took turns breaking the floor and digging through the dirt.
According to Xue Yin, the secret passage should be about five ters below the surface.
If they dug to that depth without finding the tunnel, they would have to start again elsewhere.
After an hour and three pits dug, the secret tunnel was still undiscovered.
Tired and slightly disheartened, they felt that this thod of searching wasn’t working.
