1440: Chapter 1440: Fallen into a Trap 1440: Chapter 1440: Fallen into a Trap “That was close, too close,” Li patted his heart, truly frightened out of his wits just now.

Gu Fan quickly surveyed the area.

It was obvious the walls were different from those in Experintal Zone No.1, feeling both tallic and stonelike—a sensation only materials crafted by a Super Civilization possessed.

“It seems I’ve co to the right place,” Gu Fan moved forward to explore.

Xue Lang and Li followed, their minds brimming with questions.

Why had the great door suddenly opened and then abruptly shut, as if specifically for them?

Gu Fan agreed with this theory and added, “Because soone wants us to co in.”

“Who?” Everyone was tense.

Could there still be soone from Organization X here?

According to Xue Lang’s mory, the people from both Experintal Zone No.1 and Experintal Zone No.2 had either evacuated or fallen prey to the mutant vampires—no survivors should be left here.

Gu Fan dismissed these thoughts; if Experintal Zone No.2 was truly an ancient Super Civilization spaceship, there was much to explore.

“Hold on, I think I’m hungry.

Let’s eat sothing,” Li’s stomach growled, and coincidentally, Gu Fan also felt his hunger.

So, Gu Fan and Li quickly pulled out their food and water from their backpacks and feasted heartily.

Xue Lang and the other vampires watched them, desire flickering in their eyes.

They were hungry too, but what they coveted was not the food in Gu Fan and Li’s hands but their necks.

Gu Fan noticed this and said with a solemn expression, “That look on your faces, you wouldn’t be thinking of drinking our blood, would you?”

Xue Lang quickly explained, “Don’t get the wrong idea, Gu Fan.

We understand the bigger picture; we won’t do anything to harm you.”

Gu Fan put on a serious and earnest face, “No harm done.

You can hurt if you like, drink my blood if you really want to, but just a kind reminder: my blood won’t taste good.

You’ll regret it.”

“No no no, we’re not thinking that,” Xue Lang was sowhat afraid of Gu Fan.

Having suffered losses during their past encounters when Xue Lang could beat Gu Fan, now that he couldn’t, he braced for even worse losses.

After eating their fill, Gu Fan, Li, and Xue Lang continued on their way.

Unfamiliar with the environnt, they had no choice but to pick paths randomly at every crossroads they encountered.

Soone voiced their concern, “This place might be safe, but how will we ever leave?

We can’t stay here forever.”

Hearing this, Gu Fan’s brow furrowed, indeed thinking that leaving was paramount.

They ca to another crossroad and prepared to choose a path at random as before.

Suddenly, two of the passages sealed off, startling Gu Fan, Li, and Xue Lang.

“What’s going on?” Li panicked, finding it too creepy.

Gu Fan looked at the remaining open path, a smirk forming on his lips, “It seems there really is soone here, controlling the equipnt, the sa person who opened the gate of Experintal Zone No.2, letting us in.”

Xue Lang concurred, “Now he’s guiding us to a certain location, and it seems we have no choice.”

“Since we’re here, we might as well proceed,” Gu Fan stepped forward, bravely facing the unknown.

The others hesitated, but one vampire shouted, “Scared of what?

An ordinary man isn’t scared; we’re vampires for crying out loud!

Is it fitting for us to be such cowards?”

Xue Lang punched that vampire in the face, scolding, “Get it straight—he’s Gu Fan!

Is he an ordinary man?

He took down more than a dozen vampires on his own.”

Hearing this, all the vampires hung their heads, sporting looks of embarrassnt.

“Gu Fan is not ordinary, but I am,” Li was the first to follow, now having imnse trust in Gu Fan.

Led by Xue Lang, more vampires gathered their courage and rapidly followed suit.

They encountered no dangers or obstructions along the way.

Every ti they reached a crossroads requiring a decision, paths would seal, leaving only one for Gu Fan and his group.

Gu Fan grew excited, looking forward to seeing who was maneuvering behind the scenes, wherever this person wanted to take them.

Eventually, they were led to a large room with many seats, each with a control panel in front, and a spot that seed intended for a commander, similar to a cockpit.

Li looked around, puzzled, “Why bring us here?

There’s nothing.”

Gu Fan eyed the large screen in the cockpit, dark and void of anything, that feeling of anxious excitent causing his heart to race.

One person, frightened, suggested, “Let’s just leave since there’s nothing here.”

“Good idea!” A vampire spoke and tried to back away, wanting to be the first to exit.

At that mont, the cockpit door slamd shut, trapping everyone inside.

“Damn it, I knew it wouldn’t be so simple,” no sooner had Li spoken than they heard strange sounds like air leaking.

Gu Fan quickly realized sothing was amiss and covered his mouth and nose, “Careful, watch out for the gas.”

“I knew it…” A vampire began to curse loudly but passed out before he could finish.

Li soon couldn’t hold on either.

Before collapsing, he kept his eyes on Gu Fan, wanting to approach, but fell to the ground after only a few steps.

“How could this be?” Xue Lang fought to stay on his feet, clinging to the edge of a platform, trying to stand several tis, but ultimately succumbed to unconsciousness.

Gu Fan’s consciousness began to blur; despite holding his breath multiple tis, it only bought him ti.

Gradually, Gu Fan too reached his limit; he knelt on the ground, propped up by his hands, still resisting in his last monts.

Suddenly the cockpit door opened, and Gu Fan looked up but could barely see, his actions weak, devoid of any ability to act.

Gu Fan saw a figure appear at the doorway, disregarding the unconscious vampires around, ignoring Li, ignoring Xue Lang, stepping over everyone, heading straight towards him.

“Who are you!” Gu Fan’s vision was blurry, unable to discern the newcor’s features.

“Just sleep quietly,” the figure said indifferently, then kicked Gu Fan, toppling him to the ground.

The impact of the fall felt like the last straw breaking the cal’s back; Gu Fan’s will crumbled as he fell into unconsciousness.
