1389: Chapter 1389: I’ll Cover the Rear 1389: Chapter 1389: I’ll Cover the Rear “It’s fine, just don’t make that mistake again,” Gu Fan didn’t want to get involved in the fight, but he wanted to help the hunters.

Li was like a frightened bird at the mont; hearing any noise around him made him clutch Gu Fan’s arm tightly and ask, “What will happen if we lose?”

Gu Fan casually replied, “What else is there to say?

If we lose, we’ll scatter and flee, being hunted down.

That would be the best-case scenario—the worst is if Xue Long gets killed by the enemy, and we get blad for not protecting him properly.”

Hearing this, Li beca even more worried, “Then tell , can Xue Long definitely win?

That hunter seems strong, but I feel like he can’t beat Xue Long.”

“It’s hard to say!” No sooner had Gu Fan finished speaking when he saw a flash of cold light in the darkness followed by a painful scream that seed to be Xue Long’s.

Familiar with that sound, Xue Long’s close followers imdiately rushed to rescue, just as Gu Fan had said—if anything happened to Xue Long, nobody would end up well.

“We need to go!” Gu Fan and Li quickly fled the scene, believing that Xue Long’s close followers would be able to save him in ti, so they didn’t take the risk.

Gu Fan and Li followed the direction of the light, where a wall damaged by the fight had a breach, allowing a quick escape.

However, Xue Long appeared, clutching his arm and running towards that direction.

“You guys!” Xue Long frowned when he saw Gu Fan and Li, but he didn’t linger and quickly escaped from the warehouse through the breach.

Seeing Xue Long’s pathetic state, Gu Fan knew he had been thoroughly defeated; he had no idea what special technique the hunter had used that forced Xue Long to flee so desperately.

The fighting inside the warehouse continued, only now Organization X, which originally set the trap, ended up being the ones slaughtered.

Xue Long hadn’t run far before he fell to the ground, his face filled with terror, having none of his earlier arrogance.

Wanting to show so initiative, Li imdiately went to help Xue Long up but was t with a questioning glare from Xue Long that scared Li.

“This situation is a bit tricky,” Gu Fan frowned.

Xue Long was retreating, so was he going to bla others for deserting in the face of battle?

Xue Long snorted coldly, then crawled out through the breach, leaving the warehouse, his wounds healing a bit in the process.

Gu Fan and Li quickly followed, but Gu Fan kept an eye on Xue Long’s wounds.

The healing was far too slow, much slower than a typical vampire, not at all like soone from the Xue Clan.

Just then, Xue Long looked around and found a car, planning to drive away.

Gu Fan and Li couldn’t understand—Xue Clan mbers move effortlessly, almost like flying across rooftops, so why would he need a car to escape?

It didn’t make sense given his abilities.

Xue Long struggled to get into the car, his expression one of pain, showing his injuries were severe.

Just then, a fireball fell from the sky, hitting the car Xue Long was in and causing it to explode.

At the last second, Xue Long escaped the car but was still thrown by the explosion, landing in an ugly heap.

Sothing was wrong; Gu Fan and Li caught Xue Long from the left and right, then another fireball landed near them, sending another car flying.

Bang, bang, bang, more fireballs kept falling from the sky, hitting nearby cars, sending them flying one after another.

Gu Fan, Li, and Xue Long were walking this way when the vehicles nearby exploded, blocking their escape route.

As they headed in the other direction, the vehicles over there burst into flas, the roaring fire hindering their getaway.

“Xue Long, it looks like you’re trying to run,” Lie Huo jumped out and stood on the burning vehicles, arms crossed, with a smug expression on his face.

Gu Fan frowned, sensing another righteous person daring to confront Organization X.

If possible, Gu Fan really didn’t want to clash with these people, so he pleaded, “Today is your victory, why push us to the brink?

Can’t you let us pass?”

“Let you go, what a joke?” Lie Huo revealed a mocking smile, “How could we miss such a great opportunity to take down a real mber of the Xue Clan?”

Xue Long’s face was stoic, and he didn’t respond, his wounds only half-healed, leaving him too weak to fight.

“No choice then, Li, you take Lord Xue Long and go first; I’ll cover our retreat,” declared Gu Fan, positioning himself in front to shield Xue Long from the incoming attacks.

Li looked worried, “Can you handle it alone?”

Gu Fan shook his head, “I’m not sure at all, but if I can hold out until others break out from the warehouse, there might be hope.”

“This…” Li knew Gu Fan was taking a gamble, albeit with slim chances of winning.

With the bigger picture in mind, Li quickly helped Xue Long escape in a direction but couldn’t help looking back, silently praying for Gu Fan.

“Thinking of leaving without asking ?” Lie Huo attempted to pursue but was blocked by Gu Fan, “Sorry, you can’t kill them.

Besides, your opponent is .”

“Get out of the way, what trash,” bellowed Lie Huo, his eyes filled with contempt, completely disregarding Gu Fan.

Gu Fan lunged forward in a flash, landing a heavy punch on the unsuspecting Lie Huo, the force of the punch visibly distressing him.

Lie Huo clutched his stomach, collapsing to the ground, too pained to speak, having underestimated his opponent thinking anyone other than a vampire from Organization X was easy to deal with.

“You bastard!” Lie Huo finally recovered, but he struggled to stand, his body trembling slightly.

A small fla flickered nacingly in Lie Huo’s hand as his ferocious gaze seed to signal an imminent ashening.

“Sorry to disappoint,” Gu Fan walked over and grabbed Lie Huo’s hand, extinguishing the fla in his palm with an indifferent look that seed to say, “Don’t bother.”

Lie Huo’s eyes were filled with unwillingness, almost spitting fire, which then enveloped his entire body, burning like a human torch.

Lie Huo spread his arms, attempting to engulf Gu Fan in flas.

Gu Fan acted faster, landing a simple direct punch on Lie Huo, knocking him, along with the flas, into the nearest car.

The impact flipped the vehicle, and the flas instantly engulfed the car.

“Hope you’re okay!” Gu Fan shook off his hand, then turned to quickly flee the scene, not wanting to encounter any hunters later.
