1374: Chapter 1374: Moving the Battlefield 1374: Chapter 1374: Moving the Battlefield In the morning, Gu Fan and Li were sleeping when suddenly a series of knocks on the door ca, disturbing their sweet dreams.
“Who is it, so early in the morning?” Li yawned and stretched as he went to open the door, only to find, to his surprise, that it was Ouyang Jin.
“Hello, countryman, I’ve co to bid you farewell today,” Ouyang Jin said in a friendly manner, and Li was extrely surprised, responding, “You’re leaving?
Where are you off to?”
Ouyang Jin answered, “We’re moving to another hotel, and I can’t tell you the reasons.”
At this mont, Gu Fan pretended to ask, “Li, who is this?”
Li made the introduction, “This is the countryman I told you about yesterday, who I ran into here, Gu Fan.”
“Oh, so you’re Li’s countryman, what a coincidence, I am Tai.” Gu Fan imdiately extended his hand and shook Ouyang Jin’s, both of them pretending like it was their first eting.
However, when Ouyang Jin proposed moving to another place, which had relatively cheaper room rates allowing for a longer stay, Gu Fan inquired if he could move with them.
Ouyang Jin nodded, thinking that since they were fellow countryn, it was only right to look out for each other, and was also happy to welco Gu Fan and Li to move together.
They chatted happily, and then Ouyang Jin said he had to leave to help his companions move their stuff and departed.
As soon as Li closed the door, he appeared very nervous: “What are you doing, Organization X has been watching them all along, and now you’re actually going with them?
Aren’t we going to be spotted by Organization X?”
This was how Gu Fan explained it: “Think about it, when they move hos, a part of Organization X will surely continue to follow them, while another part will definitely keep watching this place, fearing any fish may slip through the net.
What would you do then?”
After giving it so thought, Li felt it made sense, not knowing when Organization X would stop surveilling this hotel.
But Li still felt sothing was amiss: “But following Gu Fan and the others, we’re still under the surveillance of Organization X, it’s the sa situation, with even a greater risk of being exposed.”
Gu Fan shook his head: “Organization X’s main surveillance targets are Gu Fan and his group, not us.
Even if Organization X sees us appear alongside Gu Fan, they’ll just think we are his unimportant companions, and we’re just small fish in Organization X’s eyes, who would recognize us?”
Li listened and thought it made sense, but still found it sowhat far-fetched.
At this ti, Ouyang Jin ca to urge them, asking Li if they were leaving or not.
Li realized he no longer had the ti to think about the best course of action and decided to take each step as it ca.
So he began packing up with Gu Fan.
When Li and Gu Fan showed up at the entrance with their backpacks, they saw several people there, each wearing the sa cap.
The parked vehicle at the entrance provided a good cover, aning the people from Organization X outside couldn’t see who exactly each person was.
“Here, take these!” Ouyang Jin handed out the sa caps to Li and Gu Fan, which imdiately made Li feel more secure.
Just then, Ouyang Jin revealed, “Honestly, we’ve run into a bit of trouble here; we’re being watched by the enemy.
I spoke with Li yesterday, and I worry that my enemies might mistake you for my companions, so I’m not comfortable leaving you here.
I’m going to take you with us, but don’t worry, I’ll make sure you’re safely sent away, ensuring that my enemies don’t see you.”
Hearing this, Li was secretly delighted; such good fortune.
Gu Fan also expressed his gratitude and then, upon seeing Lin Xi and eting Su Hui, appeared totally dazzled by their beauty, even more so than in the photographs.
Su Hui was calm, welcoming Gu Fan and Li, while Lin Xi pursed her lips, appearing as if she were sulking about sothing.
Li was clueless and didn’t know what had offended this madam.
Lin Xi thought to herself that, although it was all an act, Gu Fan’s acting was quite impressive.
Seeing Su Hui, he seed absolutely captivated.
Was it really just acting, or had his true feelings slipped through?
Alright, the operation began, and everyone got on the truck, crowded into one compartnt.
It’s undeniable that the size of the box truck was ample, parked right in front of the hotel to block the view of Organization X; they couldn’t see clearly who had boarded the vehicle.
The usual: part of Organization X followed the truck while the rest continued watching the hotel.
After driving around, the truck remarkably returned to the original hotel, which was covertly operated by the Hunter’s Guild.
Everyone disembarked from the truck and swiftly entered the hotel, causing the mbers of Organization X who followed to beco anxiously frustrated.
They couldn’t get too close, and so couldn’t see how many people had entered the hotel.
The truck had parked in a tricky position, judging where the Organization X trackers might be and using the body of the truck to block their line of sight from the hotel entrance entirely.
So, Organization X was split up once more – so watched the hotel Gu Fan and his group checked into, others followed the truck in case they were still inside.
The big show unfolded: the truck stopped at the entrance of another hotel; because of its large size, it was impossible to see whether anyone had gotten off or entered this new hotel.
With no other option, Organization X had to leave a few people behind to watch that hotel, or send soone to inquire whether anyone had checked in recently.
Every hotel the truck stopped at necessitated that following mbers of Organization X linger, keeping watch over every hotel the truck had visited.
After making its rounds around the town, Organization X found themselves stretched thin.
When Li, wearing a cap and a face mask, stepped off the truck, not a single mber of Organization X had followed; firstly, there weren’t enough hands, and secondly, Organization X had already seen Gu Fan, Su Hui, and Lin Xi, so they deed it unnecessary to keep tailing the truck.
Looking around and seeing that indeed no one had followed, Li took off running towards the predetermined eting point with Gu Fan, simultaneously hoping Gu Fan wouldn’t run into trouble.
Gu Fan didn’t move with Li because Ouyang Jin had said two trucks would be used to send the two of them in separate directions to better disperse Organization X’s people.
Ouyang Jin had also ntioned that he would appear when the ti was nearly right.
With Organization X realizing their key targets had shown up, they wouldn’t continue foolishly chasing the truck anymore.
Li thought this plan was feasible and agreed to make separate moves from Gu Fan, but had no idea he was being led in circles.
