1364: Chapter 1364: Traces of the Battlefield 1364: Chapter 1364: Traces of the Battlefield Under Gu Fan’s suggestion, the two n changed course and headed to another small town.

They stayed there for a day to eat, sleep, and rest before setting off again.

Gu Fan’s plan was simple.

Since they needed to ensure their identities were not exposed, they absolutely could not approach the destination from the direction of Dark City.

Instead, they would take an alternative route, which required a slight detour.

Li initially agreed, but he didn’t expect the detour to be so extensive, and he instantly beca disheartened.

“Better safe than sorry!

You wouldn’t want to go back and get scolded by Catherine, would you?” Gu Fan’s words made sense, and if he and Li were to expose their identities, causing Catherine to be unable to account for them, it would be more than just a scolding.

Upon reaching another small town, Gu Fan saw a very tall building severely damaged, and there were also signs of destruction on the nearby streets, as if the area had suffered an attack.

Initially, Gu Fan thought that the area might have been attacked by vampiric creatures, but when he saw a deep fist imprint on the wall, he realized it was definitely human power.

Who could have smashed such an imprint on the wall?

In Gu Fan’s mind, there were a few possibilities: the big boss, Zhuo Hang, or the hunter.

As for Xue Wang, Lord Xiong, and Mo Yun, it was unlikely they would co here to have a fierce fight.

Zhuo Hang had entered the Dark Primitive Mountain forest with Gu Fan, so he was ruled out first.

The hunter generally used a sword, and there were no sword marks in the area of the fight, so he was also ruled out, leaving only the big boss as a possibility.

Thus, curious, Gu Fan asked nearby people about what had happened here in the battlefield area.

Li also followed Gu Fan to investigate, and then they learned that the fight involved two extraordinary people, one tall and powerful, filled with a deterring presence, and the other wearing a mask.

The battle had no video or photos.

Gu Fan didn’t know who the two fighters were, but he felt that one of them might be the big boss, while the masked individual remained unknown.

Based on the outco, the masked one had triumphed.

If the other who lost was indeed the big boss, then this indicated the masked individual was even more formidable and fearso.

It was hard to determine whether such a person was a friend or foe.

Gu Fan couldn’t help but wonder about the origins of this masked individual who could defeat the big boss.

“Wait a minute, could it be him…” Gu Fan recalled a mysterious masked person he had seen in ancient tis.

If it was indeed the sa person, it wasn’t impossible for him to defeat the big boss with his abilities.

Wearing a mask and stronger than the big boss, to Gu Fan it could only be the mysterious masked person.

Formidable enemies were abundant already; adding one more to the list was really adding insult to injury.

Gu Fan did not want to face a tougher challenge just as he had barely managed to overco Organization X.

As Gu Fan was worrying, Li patted his shoulder, “What’s wrong?

Why the daze?

Let’s get going.”

“Oh, right, we should get going!” Gu Fan imdiately snapped back to reality, pretending everything was fine.

The car was refueled and back on the road.

Gu Fan and Li took so more ti, took a long detour, and eventually joined the usual traffic flow from another direction into the target small town.

Upon arriving at the small town, Gu Fan and Li found an inn to stay in and then closed the doors and windows to discuss the next moves.

Li took out a map of the town, pointed to a location on it, and said, “According to the information, the target person is in this place.

Our task is to get close to the target, take good photos, and then retreat, but we absolutely must not let the target notice us nor let Organization X discover us.”

“Isn’t that troubleso?” Gu Fan looked at the location on the map, which was the inn they had stayed at before departure.

It seed that Su Hui, Lin Xi, Irina, Lu Yi, and Ouyang Jin were still staying there.

Gu Fan stroked his chin and started thinking, while Li, seeing Gu Fan’s thoughtful expression, thought Gu Fan was figuring out a solution.

“It’s strange, why aren’t you leaving?

Why stay at this inn?

Isn’t it just making it easier for others to monitor your every move?” Gu Fan didn’t quite understand.

Lin Xi had prior life experience, Su Hui was an elite policewoman, and Irina was no pushover.

Together, the three were certainly aware of what staying in this town would entail.

Soon, Gu Fan figured it out; they had deliberately let Organization X watch them to make the organization believe they had no plans, allowing Dark City to lower its guard, which greatly reduced Gu Fan’s pressure.

If Lin Xi and Su Hui suddenly disappeared from under Organization X’s watch, then Dark City would beco tense, enhance its guard, and make life very difficult for Gu Fan.

“Thanks, everyone!” Previously, Gu Fan only knew that his companions had returned to the previous small town.

He didn’t know they were risking being monitored to stay and help him.

Seeing that Gu Fan had been lost in thought for a while, Li waved his hand in front of Gu Fan’s eyes and asked again, “How about it?

You seem deep in thought; did you co up with a good solution?”

Gu Fan instantly ca back to his senses, adopting a serious deanor, and pointed at the map, “If I’m not mistaken, Organization X has centralized that inn as the hub and deployed people in several nearby buildings.

No matter which street we approach from, we will be noticed by Organization X’s people.”

Li scratched his head, “You an, no matter what we do, we can’t get close to that inn; doesn’t that an we have no way to proceed, that we’ve co for nothing?”

“Not necessarily, unless the target person cos out of that inn,” said Gu Fan, his expression grave and intense.

Li was happy, feeling hopeful about completing the mission, but then he thought again, “We can’t get close to that inn; how will we know when the target person cos out, and how can we be sure that the one coming out is the target?

Many people check in and check out of that inn every day.”

“As long as it’s an Eastern person, we’ll take a photograph.

Since we’ve been in this town, although we’ve seen a few Eastern people, there aren’t many.

As long as it’s an Eastern person coming from the direction of that inn, we’ll take their picture.” This was Gu Fan’s only solution.

Li nodded and sighed, “It seems that’s all we can do for now.”

At that mont, Gu Fan was thinking about another issue—how to secretly contact Su Hui and Lin Xi without attracting the attention of Li and Organization X, and also find so ti to explain many things and discuss future plans.

Gu Fan glanced at Li, who was yawning beside him, then shook his head, feeling that knocking him out would be too extre a asure.
