Chapter 73: Chapter 69 Bloodline

“Madam… The opening of the entrance to the ruins requires the bloodline of a high-level fairy as a guide, yet I have tried the blood of every single race within our clan, all rejected by the ruins due to the curse contained within our blood…”

Silence, stillness.

At this mont in the underground hall, all the half-fairies’ faces flashed with a hint of despair.

The bloodline curse, a special asure laid out by the Fairy Clan in ancient tis to punish unfaithful retainers. And those cursed by the bloodline were regarded by the Fairy Clan as equivalent to the descendants of criminals or the guilty.

That their blood and identity credentials could not open the ruins was within reason.

Yet such a result produced a strong sense of disappointnt in their hearts.

They had everything ready and had even found the fairy ruins they longed for on Kosai Island. But it was precisely this step where they were stuck, unable to fulfill the dreams pursued by several generations of their race.

Now where could they find the blood of a high-level fairy that doesn’t contain this bloodline curse?

Following the silence, all the fairies turned their gaze to the leader seated high upon the throne.

“Is there really no other way?” After a brief silence, the leader looked at Qi. His voice then grew deeper, “Let’s prepare for both possibilities. Please look on your end to see if there are any alternative solutions. If not, in the end, we will attempt to enter by force.”

“As for the others, take the bloodline needles and search!” the leader said coldly, “We only need a bit of blood as a prir, so it isn’t necessary to extract it only from half-fairies. So human bloodlines actually contain thin fairy ancestry, it’s just that their bloodlines are latent and have not been triggered.”

“We just need to find suitable humans, extract their blood as the key, and we can open the ruins just the sa…”

After the leader spelled out the plan, his gaze swept over the half-fairy kinfolk around him. “This is the closest we have co to success, and perhaps our last chance for redemption. We have no way out. So we must succeed! And we will succeed!”

After two or three days of arduous journeying, Lucien and his team finally left the mountainous region shrouded by North Mist and arrived at a small human town near the port for a short rest.

“Fairy blood truly is magical.” Inside a room in the inn, Lucien was holding an experintal device similar to a microscope, observing the blood collected from the half-fairy, Peach.

At that mont, he was not separating or purifying the blood but directly observing it under the microscope.

Lucien’s observation uncovered that this special blood indeed contained many natural runes. Of course, so of these runes were scattered, not forming a system, while others combined to form natural magic models.

Clearly, this was the Bloodline Power of the Fairy Clan.

Those complete witchcraft models, as long as fairies could discover and harness them, they would be able to instantly activate and form witchcraft when necessary.

“Interesting, very interesting,” Lucien took out a piece of rough paper and began to record these fragnted or complete magic runes and models.

Only then did he start to follow the steps given on the appraisal plan to begin separating these blood samples.

“There’s a special bloodline curse in the blood, so I can only purify one of the bloodlines at most…” Lucienne pondered for a mont before deciding to extract the most precious of them, the Moon Fairy Bloodline.

Moon Fairies belonged to a very rare and powerful class of high-level fairies, similar to great fairies. As they matured, Moon Fairies could naturally step into the realm of Formal Wizards, but in terms of bloodline rank, they were actually a notch above great fairies.

The witchcraft inherent in such a high-order bloodline would definitely be richer and more advanced than those of lower bloodlines, making it the most precious bloodline carrier.

“Let’s begin then,” Lucien first ditated for a while, and then began to carefully use his spiritual power as the most precise scalpel, referring to the thods in the appraisal results to carefully separate the fairy blood.

Unlike human blood, after preliminary purification, fairy blood showed a pale purple color. It also slled not of the fishy stench typical of normal blood, but rather had a kind of plant-like fragrance.

This was normal, after all, fairy blood itself was a precious ingredient for potions, used to concoct various different potions, even high-grade ones.

“Regrettably, the curse that entrenched itself within the Fairy Bloodline has not been separated out. If it were to be used or rged, the extracted Fairy Bloodline would also be influenced by the curse,” Lucien looked at the pale purple blood in the test tube, shook his head slightly, and proceeded with further ticulous separation.

“It’s a pity that the half-fairy’s Bloodline was too mixed; from so much blood, the ultimately extracted Moon Fairy Bloodline is only this tiny bit.” As dawn was about to break, Lucien lazily stretched, placing the extracted Moon Fairy bloodline crystal into a small test tube.

This bloodline crystal was only the size of an almond, yet it was all of the Moon Fairy Bloodline that Lucien was able to extract.

Such a small piece of bloodline crystal, if used for bloodline transplantation, would certainly be far from enough. However, as a simple research vessel, it was a very fine specin.

Because Lucien had just taken a preliminary look and discovered so very profound and complex high-order witchcraft models inside, which were clearly models that only a Formal Wizard tier could master. He would gradually start researching them once he beca a Formal Wizard, and perhaps there would be so very nice unexpected findings.

“If possible, it might be worthwhile to trade with Lilia again. I wonder if I can purchase so more Fairy Bloodline from her hands…” Lucien thought, but it wasn’t very urgent. After all, for him, it was just an ordinary research material.

And just as Lucien was sowhat delighted by acquiring a fine collection, in the next room, Carly sat up sowhat dejectedly, looking rather listless.

“Ooh…” Carly held her little head, feeling a bit confused as she opened her eyes.

These past few nights, whenever she entered into a state of ditation, she always felt as though soone was whispering sothing in her ear. It was muffled and not very clear, yet it was a real presence, interfering with her ditation.
