Chapter 64: Chapter 60 Setting Off

“Appraise,” Lucien instantly paid 10 points of reverence value, and quickly the appraisal report about the alchemical bow and arrow popped up.

[Item]: Alchemical Hunting Bow (Unnad)

[Classification]: Zero-order Witch Tool·Attack type·Bow

[Raw Materials]: Damaged space crystal stone scraps, starry iron ore, Wind Whispering Wood…

[Description]: A zero-order alchemical hunting bow crafted by an alchemy apprentice. Due to special crafting techniques, this simply enchanted hunting bow’s power has been enhanced…

[Details]: …

Lucien quickly scanned through the detailed information, and soon found several key points, a smile appearing on his face. “It was not a waste disassembling the storage pendant and using those scraps; it indeed endowed this hunting bow with a faint space property.”

This was also one aspect of alchemy results that Lucien valued.

He still had a complete space crystal stone in his possession. If used properly, he could craft a powerful combat witch tool for himself that could even continue to be used after he was promoted to a Formal Wizard.

This utilization of storage pendant scraps to achieve a slight space property effect represented Lucien’s first attempt at processing space-related materials, and this attempt was very successful.

After all, he had only one space crystal stone; a failure in crafting would render the system’s appraisal feature largely useless in identifying the cause of failure since finding another space crystal stone in a short ti would not be an easy task.

“However… my processing of space materials is still sowhat rough. If so details had been handled more ticulously, perhaps the space effect of this hunting bow would have been even stronger,” Lucien noted as he looked at the system appraisal report.

There were two types of space effects on this freshly crafted alchemical bow and arrow, and both were the simplest of space manipulations.

One was that under the influence of its space effect, this hunting bow could enlarge or shrink proportionally in a short ti, with a maximum limit of about 25%.

In the enlarged condition, drawing the bow would slow down, but accordingly, the bow and arrow’s range and power would see a slight increase; while in the shrunk state, the power would decrease, but the drawing speed would increase, becoming more concealed, and could even have effects similar to a hidden weapon.

The second space thod was inherited from the alchemical pendant’s storage space. This is essentially the remnant space fragnts from the disintegrated storage pendant, totaling seven small and large fragnts, though the overall space was not large and could even be described as cramped, and the shapes were very irregular.

According to the appraisal provided by the system, the total space of the seven fragnts could store about three liters of water, but the overall shape of the space was a narrow rift with many small crevices—practical space that could be used for storage was probably the size of a jewelry box, and it was also scattered across seven independent small spaces, with limited capacity to even hold many arrows.

However, in Lucien’s view, these seemingly defective small spaces might be useless to other witch tools or Wizard Apprentices, but for Carly, they were very practical.

With these small spaces, Carly could easily store so auxiliary casting materials needed for launching special arrows, such as high-purity sulfur powder for fire arrows, electric stone powder for lightning arrows, etc.

These auxiliary materials were not very demanding in terms of space, so using these small compartnts to hold mostly powdered or liquid substances was more than sufficient.

When Carly needed to use these witchcraft arrows, she could directly mobilize these auxiliary materials from the small spaces inside the bow, combining them with the witchcraft model to accelerate the formation of the witchcraft. With more practice and familiarity with the operation process, Carly could significantly increase her speed in casting such archery witchcraft.

Or perhaps this could be called reducing the “pre-casting” ti.

“Alright, Carly, try handling the bow yourself,” Lucien said after studying it for a while, then paused, “By the way, Carly. This is the first hunting bow you’ve designed and helped repair. Have you considered naming it, or will you just continue to call it ‘hunting bow’?”

“A na?” Carly took the hunting bow, hesitated for a mont, seemingly in thought.

However, soon, when her fingers brushed against a piece of wood embedded in the bow, Carly seed to have an epiphany. She then looked towards Lucien with a serious expression, “ntor Lucien, I’ve thought it through. This hunting bow shall be nad ‘Origin.'”

“Origin? The Origin Bow?” Lucien stroked his chin, surprised that Carly would choose such an unusual na.

But since it was Carly’s witch tool, the most important thing was that she liked it.

“It’s a pity there’s not enough ti, or I would really like to forge a handy witch tool for myself before heading to Kosai Island,” Lucien thought, looking down at the shrinking academy from an airship, his gaze filled with complexity.

“But with this ‘Silent Blessing,’ I should be able to handle so situations,” he thought, touching the bone amulet on his chest, feeling slightly more at ease.

This was a precious witch tool he had obtained in exchange for a cherished item from Nolian, suitable for use by a Third-level Wizard Apprentice, serving as his transitional equipnt for now.

“Lucien!” Just as Lucien gently caressed the cool bone surface of the Silent Blessing amulet, a sowhat hearty voice called out from behind him.

Without needing to turn, Lucien knew it was Bennett.

When Lucien turned around, however, he found that Bennett was followed by several Second-level Wizard Apprentices. Clearly, these apprentices were either his students or subordinates.

What Lucien did not expect was that, at Bennett’s side, Lilia was also present. To Lucien’s surprise, Lilia seed to have softened significantly in temperant, nodding and smiling toward him as if in greeting.

Lucien knew that last ti they t, Lilia had appeared rather cold.

Though confused, Lucien acknowledged that the three were at least “partners” on the surface, despite possibly harboring so secrets. Therefore, he did not put on airs but simply greeted them with a smile.

However, unlike Bennett and Lilia, who were both flanked by a group of Second-level Wizard Apprentices, Carly stood sowhat isolated behind Lucien.
