Chapter 29: Chapter 29: Passing By

Silence.

Outside the battlefield, there was a deathly silence.

After all, the battle was too brief and too bizarre. The entire fight lasted no more than thirty seconds.

Soone had rely shouted a na, and then, they ignited into flas.

Many of the new blood who had gathered to watch the spectacle, including First-level Wizard Apprentices and even so Second-level Wizard Apprentices, felt a chill run down their spines, and as they sweated profusely, their gazes towards Lucien were filled with exceptional awe.

That was Apollo Cabu! One of those closest to being a Third-level Wizard Apprentice! With the aid of a Witch Tool, he was even capable of vying with most Third-level Wizard Apprentices!

To easily kill Apollo was akin to crushing an ant.

So Third-level Wizard Apprentices and several powerful Second-level Wizard Apprentices, however, looked at Lucien with a hint of wariness in their eyes.

“Sound waves, or a curse?” Several experienced veteran Third-level Wizard Apprentices had also spotted so clues. However, they had to admit that Lucien’s move was strange and powerful.

The sudden attack, coupled with an explosive power close to 150p, ant that even those who were prepared could easily be at a disadvantage when struck!

He had the strength to protect himself.

Many Third-level Wizard Apprentices had already curbed their covetousness towards Lucien and turned to leave.

Without substantial benefits to motivate them, they would not rashly strike against a peer Wizard Apprentice.

But there was one exception.

Nolian silently watched Lucien in the arena, his eyes filled with a tinge of regret and dread.

He had already turned hostile against Lucien, and the fact that he had knocked on Lucien’s door ant there was no possibility of reconciliation between them.

Lucien’s display of power weighed heavily on his mind at this mont.

Indeed, Lucien’s strength currently posed no threat to him, but that was only because he lacked appropriate Witch Tools and other external aids. Once Lucien made up for this shortcoming, his power would significantly increase, potentially posing a threat to him.

Once Lucien recovered his montum, he would have one more formidable enemy!

At this thought, Nolian’s face darkened, and he cast a cold glance at Yellen, who still seed a bit dazed, then turned and left.

The promises he had made for Yellen, offending a critically injured Third-level Wizard Apprentice, he didn’t care.

But now, he thought that making an enemy out of a Third-level Wizard Apprentice of similar strength—even one who could threaten him—was not worth it.

He had to eliminate this threat, and the cost must not be borne by him alone!

At this mont, however, Yellen’s mind was sowhat muddled.

He stared blankly at the only figure standing in the arena, his eyes filled with profound confusion.

Lucien at that mont, with his hands seemingly still hidden under his Wizard Robe, stood tall and slender, his expression calm yet sharp, his deanor both warm and full of wisdom.

Accompanied by the still smoking charred remains nearby, Lucien appeared even more mysterious, ruthless, and powerful, inspiring not only awe but also admiration.

This was a powerful wizard! But… Yellen’s eyes gradually dimd.

It seed that Lucien had been his chosen ntor from the start.

But why had it turned out this way?

Myself…

If I had not made that choice at the ti, then… Yellen could not help but think. After all, he was a genius who was infinitely close to a fourth-tier talent, but now, all these had belonged to that first-tier guy.

“Co to my lab at two o’clock this afternoon.” Just as Yellen’s mind was wandering endlessly, a voice cold as a serpent rang in his ear.

Yellen shuddered slightly, and his still intact right hand subconsciously protected his abdon.

He understood, this would be the third ti he was “used.”

The first ti, he had lost his left hand; the second ti, sothing strange was implanted inside his body, and even now he could feel the weird squirming of the foreign object in his abdon.

What about this ti?

A chill ran through Yellen’s heart, and he did not even notice Nolian’s departure.

What Yellen didn’t expect at this ti was that Lucien, after leaving the battleground, was actually walking towards him.

Wherever he went, those spectating new blood, First and Second-level Wizard Apprentices, spontaneously cleared a path and slightly bowed their heads, showing the humility due to the powerful.

Lucien’s strides were steady, not fast, but very direct.

At this mont, the still sowhat befuddled Yellen did not clear the path, thereby becoming “isolated.”

He watched as Lucien approached step by step, slowly lifting his head, his mouth slightly open.

Is it too late to bow now?

Just as Yellen was hesitating, Lucien had already passed by him, his speed unchanging, and even subtly sidestepped as he passed to avoid any contact.

The breeze brought up by Lucien’s wizard robe brushed past Yellen, causing his already wavering heart to instantly turn cold.

He suddenly realized that perhaps Lucien did not even know he was the student who had actively left his tutelage, because before eting his ntor, he hadn’t t with Lucien!

Yellen’s gaze beca sowhat vacant; he subconsciously looked in the direction Lucien was heading, only to find Carly there among the crowd, on tiptoes, clapping her hands, her joyful deanor not seeming feigned at all.

Watching Carly, Yellen felt unusually complex inside.

Although he was very reluctant to admit it, seeing Carly perform that special archery witchcraft, he understood that this new blood with only the poorest first-tier talent had now surpassed him and most of the new blood by far.

At this mont, seeing Lucien gently rub Carly’s little head added a touch of envy to Yellen’s heart.

His and Nolian’s most “intimate” contact was probably when he lay on the experint table.

Yellen slowly lowered his head, his steps slightly staggering as he broke away from the crowd, but at this mont, no one paid attention to the departure of an inconspicuous new blood.

Even Lucien did not know that the apprentice who had almost brushed past him was the initially “escaped” “prospective student.”

At this ti, both he and Carly seed to breathe a sigh of relief after moving away from the crowd.

“Very nervous?” Lucien, looking at Carly, who was still breathing heavily, couldn’t help but smile.

“No, not at all!” Carly was sowhat jumping at this point.

But after hesitating for a mont, Carly looked at Lucien, “ntor, your wounds…”

“There was so trouble before, but it unexpectedly attracted others’ coveting, so I simply took a drastic approach.” Lucien chuckled and shrugged his shoulders, his expression also slightly relaxed.

After this battle, he was certain that the eyes lurking in the shadows would definitely disappear, go into hiding. He had reestablished himself within the Greybone Academy!
