Chapter 719: Chapter 491: Learning from Experience
The nickna Wu Gou is really too common. For people like Gu Yu, who frequently follow Wu Mu’s updates, they’ve mostly gotten used to it, so they didn’t imdiately realize there was any issue.
Besides, they’re speaking up for you right now. Who cares about calling you a dog at this point? Weren’t you already known for being quite dog-like?
Gu Yu was silent, while Mo Mo laughed and covered her face, saying, “Teacher Wu Mu, aside from your fans, who actually calls you by your na anymore? You just have to accept it.”
Compared to others, Zhihu is still relatively kind. Outside, it’s pretty much taken for granted that anyone who doesn’t call you Wu Gou is a Wu Mu fan.
Yep, it’s a recognized slang term in the industry, used to distinguish different types of followers.
Calling him Wu Mu ans you’re a dostic fan, Wu Mu ge ans you’re a Korean fangirl, Mu Mu chan ans you’re a Japanese fan, and Wu Gou ans you’re just a passerby or a spectator looking for fun.
Dog thing ans you’re a hater, and if you add a ‘that’ in front, that dog thing is likely a disgruntled ex-girlfriend fan or wife fan…
Other niche nicknas include Bao Bao, Wu Gou Bao Bao, husband, etc., which can generally tell you which platform they’re from just by the na.
Wu Mu snorted, of course, refusing to accept it. Anyone calling him Wu Gou is a hater, and he won’t be nice when he sees them.
Putting aside the small incident with the nicknas, the responses on Zhihu already show a shift in public opinion.
Gu Yu assessed, “I predict that the next ti there’s so sort of ranking by dia magazines within the industry, they’ll probably list you as a national-level act.”
Gu Yu sighed a bit, “It took Xiao Mo fifteen or sixteen years to be recognized as a national star, and you, if you subtract the early days, haven’t even been here a full year.”
Even Wu Mu could be humble, “Xiao Mo is much more popular than I am, I never actually saw any criticism of her.”
“Hitting is endearnt, scolding is love,” Gu Yu laughed. It’s a clichéd saying, but it seems to fit Wu Mu for so reason.
After all, people online seem to be scolding him constantly, yet he’s about to reach national status. It’s clear that even though they complain, they secretly adore him.
Mo Songlin also chid in with a joke, “Xiao Mo has a formidable opponent now, she might be dethroned soday.”
Mo Mo herself didn’t feel any crisis of being overtaken, only smiling with her eyes bent, “I can’t outshine Teacher Wu Mu, he’s bound to reach greater heights in the future.”
…
Whether or not he reaches greater heights, the atmosphere at dinner was reaching high spirits.
They ate and chatted, discussed career developnt, talked about industry news, and then moved on to music.
Since everyone at the table was into music, they had plenty to talk about. Gu Yu wanted to show off a bit, “Let bring out so equipnt so Wu Mu can hear how we used to sing back in the day.”
Wu Mu chuckled, “Today’s turning out to be an ear feast.”
Mo Mo also laughed, “I’ll get it. Mom, you and Dad should sing a duet later, it’s been so long since I heard you two sing together.”
Mo Mo stood up, and Wu Mu asked, “Is there a lot of stuff?”
“Not much, just the guitar and speaker set my parents usually use.”
“Alright, let’s do it together.”
Wu Mu and Mo Mo went together to fetch the equipnt.
The equipnt was stored in Gu Yu’s workspace in the annex, accessible via a connecting corridor from the dining room.
As they stepped outside with Mo Mo, Wu Mu realized dusk had fully fallen, hanging a round moon in the sky. Silver moonlight bathed them as they approached a courtyard pond and rockery.
With a view like this, the ear feast suddenly seed less urgent.
Glancing around, Wu Mu sighed, “I need to get myself a house like yours soday.”
Mo Mo slowed her pace, observing the moon above and then stealing a glance at Wu Mu walking beside her, her breathing seed to soften.
She chuckled softly, “Go for it.”
With what Wu Mu earns, he could easily buy several houses like hers.
Sadly, the beautiful view didn’t last long. As they admired the night, they soon saw the annex coming into view.
Wu Mu looked over there and asked, “Which room is the equipnt in?”
But Mo Mo stopped answering just then. Instead, Wu Mu heard her footsteps co to a halt.
Then, following that, was a voice filled with determination, “Teacher Wu Mu, I like you.”
Huh?
Huh??
Wu Mu was completely dumbfounded.
What on earth was going on?
He turned around, confused, to find Mo Mo standing still, wearing a sincere expression, eyes full of resolve.
After several seconds of being stunned, Wu Mu scratched his head, “Why say this all of a sudden.”
Mo Mo’s serious face flushed a little, but her gaze remained steady, “You broke up with Director Lin, didn’t you? I just wanted to tell you that I liked you before, and I still do now.”
Her eyes couldn’t help but shift away briefly, quickly returning to et Wu Mu’s gaze. She gave a bashful smile while holding it back, “Did Teacher Wu Mu forget? Last ti at dinner, I said if I had another chance, I’d be more brave and straightforward.”
Now there’s really another chance, and even if it’s embarrassing or awkward, she doesn’t want to miss it.
Wu Mu froze, his mouth opening and closing a couple of tis, then sighed with a smile, “I rember.”
One could say she truly is the legendary young queen who learns from experience.
But perhaps the timing isn’t that great?
Wu Mu apologized, “Sorry, I just…”
Before he could finish, Mo Mo interrupted by shaking her head, “I’m not saying this for Teacher Wu Mu to respond, just letting you know that my feelings haven’t changed.”
“Once Teacher Wu Mu has moved on… if you don’t respond to first and start dating another girl,” Mo Mo’s soft eyes took on a threatening look, chuckling, “Even if I like Teacher Wu Mu, it’ll make angry.”
Wu Mu was speechless.
After finishing her words, Mo Mo didn’t stay still anymore. She continued ahead with a little spring in her step, “Let’s go get the things. Do you need an extra guitar for later, to hear Teacher Wu Mu sing?”
Wu Mu watched her walking away, chuckling softly.
The two of them soon brought the equipnt back from Gu Yu’s workspace.
Gu Yu perford a song, and the veteran still maintained their prowess, then sang a duet with Mo Songlin that brought back mories of their concert days.
After they finished, Mo Mo took the stage and sang “Dark Reef” along with the “I Will” previously sung by Wu Mu.
Then it was Wu Mu’s turn.
Energetic Shu i called out, “Sing ‘Legend,’ we want to hear ‘Legend!'”
Gu Yu shared her interest in that song, too.
Wu Mu sang it as requested.
Then Mo Mo urged on, “Teacher Wu Mu, sing that new song you ntioned this afternoon.”
No need to send out any demo, just perform the live version right here.
Wu Mu smiled, “Alright.”
He pondered for a mont, “A new song, Dream Chaser.”
He had three Luo Dayou songs up his sleeve, but this one fit the occasion and atmosphere best.
He watched Mo Mo’s hair gently stirred by the night breeze, his fingers strumming the guitar strings as he began to sing:
“Let youth blow your long hair.”
“Let it guide your dream.”
“Unknowingly, the history of this city.”
“Has rembered your smile.”
…
The dinner and impromptu concert only wrapped up after ten at night.
“Wu Mu, next ti you’re in Shen City, just co by and visit, even if Xiao Mo’s not ho,” Gu Yu, very fond of Wu Mu, said as they saw him off.
Wu Mu laughed, “Sure, next ti when Teacher Xiao Mo isn’t ho, I’ll sneak a peek at her quiz collection.”
Huh?
Mo Mo gave him a half-joking look, “I’ll lock it up in a safe later.”
Then she joined in the laughter, “Drive safely later on the road.”
Driving away from Mo Mo’s house, today’s family dinner at Mo Mo’s officially ca to an end.
