Gu Longyu did not appear in front of these loose cultivators. Instead, he created inheritance grounds for them to ‘coincidentally’ stumble upon. Originally, Gu Longyu dealt with all loose cultivators himself, but Springsnow volunteered to share a portion of his burden after learning his ways.

In reality, Springsnow saw that Gu Longyu showed more care toward the fairer sex. Perhaps he hadn’t realized it himself, but Gu Longyu was more lenient toward females. All things being the sa, he would leave a bit more resources and thods to won.

Although she took over distribution for the won, Springsnow did not let her feelings interfere with her work. She treated them fairly. How Gu Longyu treated the n, she treated the won the sa. Because of this, it took a while for Gu Longyu to realize the reason behind her actions. He didn’t say anything. All he did was chuckle, almost dotingly.

They weren’t the only ones taking action, and the situation on Planet Madarchy shifted. It was only a slight change that no one except the masterminds noticed. Even when mbers of the Death Goddess Planetary Alliance felt the increased difficulty, they thought lightly of it, not finding the lurking danger.

Hundreds of years passed like this. By the ti the Temple of Death realized sothing was amiss, it could no longer be stopped. At least, if the Temple of Death did not dispatch its powerful emperors and monarchs to quell the situation in lightning-quick fashion, it would only continue to escalate. But how could the Temple of Death take these yokels from newly added planets seriously?

So, they only raised the upper limit and dispatched a few immortals they estimated to be enough—not too weak, but not too strong either. Just the right amount of force, and it could serve as tempering.

Unfortunately, the Temple of Death miscalculated. Instead of using the situation as experience for their immortals, nearly half of them perished.

The Temple of Death imdiately dispatched monarchs to quell the increasingly chaotic sixteenth planet. The presence of the immortal monarchs imdiately led the native forces of Planet Madarchy to send out their own monarchs.

The death monarchs originally thought that even if they were outnumbered, they would still prevail because of their superior equipnt and artifacts. They were wrong—oh, so very wrong. The native monarchs had sohow acquired powerful artifacts. Although the natives weren’t ard as heavily as they were, it was still alarming. Before, it had been hard-pressed to find a monarch-level artifact on even one in ten immortal monarchs, but now, four out of ten possessed one.

More worrying was the sophistication and exquisiteness of the techniques they used. It was as if they had traveled to an alternate tiline where they had joined the Death Goddess Planetary Alliance instead of resisting as they were now. Only, when they traveled back with the techniques and benefits, they continued to rebel.

Of course, this was just a taphor.

Even the dullest of immortals would realize that soone was rebelling against the Temple of Death behind the scenes. The problem was that they could not trace the source of the thods used by the natives. They felt similar in style to the thods used by mbers of the Death Goddess Planetary Alliance, but they did not match any force recorded by the Xiyinet.

The immortal monarchs from the Temple of Death had a great battle with the native immortal monarchs. It would not be an exaggeration to call it world-shaking. The aftermath left the surrounding land forever changed. A mountain disappeared, while a new one rose up. A giant crater beca a lake comparable to an ocean, with fractures leading from it becoming rivers.

Despite the cataclysm brought about by the battle, neither side suffered any casualties. Although many mbers were injured to varying degrees, none died.

The death monarchs returned to the fortress and imdiately reported what had happened to the Temple of Death. The upper echelon took the information seriously. They even asked the Goddess of Death, but she simply told them to do as they liked.

With her permission, they issued a call to arms and dispatched three immortal emperors. The upper echelon of the Temple of Death wasn’t stupid. They did not want to mobilize too much combat potential and weaken their hold over the sixteen planets.

So forces responded to the Temple of Death’s call, while others, though not outright rejecting it, delayed the deploynt of their immortals. The Temple of Death did not say anything, only silently rembering the obedient and disobedient forces.

And so, the three death emperors, gathered immortal monarchs, and countless true immortals descended onto Planet Madarchy.

The immortal emperors wanted to use their greater power to raze all rebellion on the sixteenth planet, but when they took action, three immortal emperors clad in cloaks appeared before them. Unlike the encounters between the immortal monarchs, the aftermath of the battle between the six emperors was even less monuntal. After testing each other, the six immortal emperors stopped by unspoken agreent.

The immortal emperors of the Temple of Death were unsure whether the other side only had three immortal emperors and what sches they had laid out. So, they took a safe but passive approach, using their superior thods and cultivators to grind away at Planet Madarchy. This was no longer using the sixteenth planet as a tempering ground, but a war of extermination.

However, the war did not go well for the Temple of Death and its mbers. The native forces on Planet Madarchy no longer hid their cards, even exposing their war formations. War formations were powerful trump cards, allowing a group of cultivators to display power far above their realm. Although many forces of the Death Goddess Planetary Alliance also possessed war formations, all of them were a few levels lower than those in the Temple of Death’s possession.

The war formations revealed by the natives were extrely complex and a level higher than the average war formations used by the general forces in the Death Goddess Planetary Alliance. Even compared to the strongest war formations belonging to the Temple of Death, they were only two or three levels weaker.

To counteract this, the Temple of Death distributed war formation thods on the sa level as those the natives possessed. They naturally couldn’t give out their most powerful war formations, and they tinkered with the war formation thods they distributed. After a round of modifications, the efficiency was reduced. This ant that to reach the full potential of the war formation, these forces would need to gather larger numbers of cultivators.

The Temple of Death didn’t distribute this knowledge freely. In order to obtain it, these forces needed to earn contribution points. Since it was a war formation that could affect the foundation of an entire force, the points required were astronomical, requiring thousands of cultivators to pool their points together and years of blood, sweat, and tears. How did one earn contribution points? Kill and obstruct the native forces on Planet Madarchy.

This was also part of the Temple of Death’s sche.

They wanted to use cultivators from their subservient forces as cannon fodder to pave the way. That didn’t an mbers of the Temple of Death just sat back and reaped the rewards. More often than not, they contributed far more than the profit-driven forces. Of course, the rewards they could obtain were far superior to those of outsiders.

After a century, the war formations given as rewards by the Temple of Death appeared on the enemy’s side. Although the Temple of Death had expected this, it still enraged them. However, they weren’t without counterasures.

When they rewarded the war formations, they left codes within them as telltale signs. But when they investigated the thods used by the natives, the Temple of Death realized there was a jumble of codes linked to many different forces. Either this ant all those forces had rebelled, or the mastermind had collected the various versions and mixed them together.

The Temple of Death believed the latter, but that didn’t an they lowered their guard. It was also the reason they released war formations at the sa level as those displayed by the natives on Planet Madarchy.

As the war progressed, more and more combatants were funneled to the sixteenth planet at a gradual pace. All things considered, the natives held the upper hand. It wasn’t by much, but it was still there. The natives fought to preserve their culture and possessions, while the Death Goddess Planetary Alliance fought for plunder and gain. The motivations behind their actions were as different as heaven and earth and brought about miracles.

If things had remained as they were, the war would have continued to escalate, but an accident occurred.

Two first-rate forces launched an attack on the top-ranked force on the seventh planet. The top-ranked force was one of the biggest supporters of the Temple of Death, while the two first-rate forces were the ones that had sent the least number of combatants. The sudden change forced the top-ranked force to recall its mbers, causing the Death Goddess Planetary Alliance to suffer a shortage of combatants.

This situation also made the other forces that had sent their combatants to Planet Madarchy wary. The top-ranked force imdiately sent an appeal for aid to the Temple of Death. Although all of them were under the rule of the Temple of Death, the temple did not interfere with the power distribution of each planet so long as they didn’t rebel. Because of this, many forces were in constant conflict over resources.

However, this was an outlier. The only reason the top-ranked force fell into such a situation was because it responded to the Temple of Death’s call to arms. The temple could ignore the appeal for aid, but that would chill all the forces that supported them and make them wary of sending cultivators to the sixteenth planet. To avoid prolonged pain, the Temple of Death decided to endure a greater but swifter one. They dispatched three immortal emperors.

Unfortunately, after the three immortal emperors arrived on the seventh planet, the interplanetary teleportation array stopped functioning. The Temple of Death tried to use an older interplanetary teleportation array, but discovered that the space around the seventh planet was too chaotic. Until the spatial distortion lessened to a stable level, teleportation was impossible—at least with the teleportation arrays currently possessed by the Temple of Death.

The bad news didn’t end there. The two first-rate forces had actually deployed six immortal emperors in total. It was a complete shock, as the forr top-ranked force only had one immortal emperor. Even with the three death emperors, they were outnumbered two to one.

The only light in the darkness was that the denizens of the seventh planet could still access the Xiyinet.

At this ti, even the Temple of Death revealed a hint of panic. Even at the height of the rebellions they had experienced, they had never encountered such a situation.

“Hahaha, they’re like ants on a hot pan,” Gu Longyu mocked. Although he didn’t know the exact thoughts of the upper echelons of the Temple of Death, he could guess sixty to seventy percent of them. “Still, the Goddess of Death has not taken action yet. Is it because the crisis isn’t dire enough, or is sothing holding her back?”

By his side, Springsnow snorted. “Who knows? No one has ever seen this goddess. Maybe her existence is just a tool used by the temple to control disobedient forces.”

“That’s true, but I personally like to believe that the Goddess of Death exists,” Gu Longyu said. “The Divine Realm is the goal of all cultivators, yet no one has crossed that threshold since the end of the primordial era. So even think it is a myth. How many immortal sovereigns have died without seeing the barrier between the immortal and the divine? Thus, the Goddess of Death’s existence represents hope.”

“If there’s soone who can cross that barrier, I believe it’s you,” Springsnow said.

Gu Longyu smiled. There was one thing he didn’t tell her about—divinities of faith. It was also possible that the Goddess of Death was a divinity of faith. Becoming as powerful as a divinity of law with the faith produced by sixteen planets was not impossible. At least, he thought it was a possibility.

He looked up with narrowed eyes, his gaze piercing into the starry sky as if staring at Planet Heavensong. Finally, he shook his head. “Co. It’s ti to advance the plan and kill the immortal emperors of the Temple of Death.”
