It surprised Gu Longyu. No, not the fact that the Temple of Death was chasing soone, but that soone actually dared to offend the Temple of Death on Planet Heavensong, causing a chase. It either ant the pursued was incredibly stupid, or he was against the Temple of Death.

Gu Longyu had long wanted to make contact with such a force.

Still, he didn’t take action imdiately. Because of the presence of the Xiyinet, killing secretly beca much harder. He had to gauge his chance of exposure if he took action.

One of the death priests laughed. It was a sinister laugh that sent shivers up the spine. “Just give it up. I don’t know how you learned our temple’s secret techniques, but since you know them and aren’t a mber, your only outco is death!”

“Stop wasting words. Just kill him and be done with it,” a second immortal said. He was much more normal, with no insidiousness.

“What’s the rush? It’s so rare for soone to actually go against the Temple of Death. Let’s toy with him a bit,” the sinister immortal said.

The second immortal sighed. He wasn’t the only one, but the group obliged. In their eyes, the pursued was just a dead man walking. Dying sooner or later didn’t matter.

Gu Longyu wanted to continue to observe, but to his surprise, the pursued immortal actually glanced in his direction. For a mont, he thought he had forgotten to use his concealnt technique, but he wouldn’t make such a rookie mistake.

“Friend from afar, please aid ! I’ll definitely reward you handsoly!”

At his words, the sinister immortal sneered. “Trying to distract us—no use!”

Unlike the sinister immortal, the other immortals from the Temple of Death released their immortal sense in Gu Longyu’s direction, but ultimately discovered nothing.

Gu Longyu frowned and moved to another location, but he discovered that the pursued immortal could accurately follow his movent. After so consideration, Gu Longyu decided to take action. If the pursued immortal couldn’t satisfy him, he didn’t mind sending him to join the death priests.

Since he decided to take action, Gu Longyu did not hesitate. He unsheathed the Dragonbone Saber and unleashed tens of saber-intent slashes. Carried by saber light, they struck down upon the death priests like falling rain.

Just as mortals could not remain untouched in rain, the immortals from the Temple of Death could not dodge his attack. They were instantly silenced. Even their souls weren’t spared.

However, one survived, to Gu Longyu’s surprise. It was the death priest who told the sinister immortal to quickly finish the pursued immortal. The immortal originally radiated the aura of a true immortal, but now he radiated the aura of an immortal monarch.

But so what? He was only a first-step monarch. It wasn’t as if Gu Longyu had been idle in the past hundred years after arriving in the Death Goddess Planetary Alliance. He had successfully mastered fifty percent of an elental law and rged his understanding with his immortal qi of destruction, becoming a third-step monarch.

And so, the immortal-monarch-level death priest fell under his blade.

The pursued immortal’s eyes widened in shock. He had originally called out to Gu Longyu because he sensed a presence there. He did not have much hope and only wanted soone to divert attention. If Gu Longyu had not appeared, he would have forced him to appear.

Never in his wildest imagination did he imagine Gu Longyu to be so powerful. More than that, the presence of an immortal monarch shocked him, but the most shocking part was that the immortal monarch only lasted a few seconds longer than the true immortals.

A drip of sweat appeared on the pursued immortal’s forehead. He wanted to speak, but Gu Longyu disappeared from his vision before he could open his mouth. Gu Longyu appeared behind the pursued immortal. He placed his hand on his shoulder, and the two disappeared.

Gu Longyu did not deliberately comprehend the Law of Space. If one had to categorize his understanding of the Law of Space, it would be the Concept of Spatial Shattering. Using that concept, Gu Longyu could emulate teleportation.

With it, only those who had fully mastered the Law of Space would be able to investigate. To further secure secrecy, Gu Longyu had launched several spatial destructions in other directions to confuse the trail. Not only that, he also used a variety of other thods after teleporting without touching on the Law of Space.

After finally reaching what he considered a safe spot, Gu Longyu let go of the immortal.

The forrly pursued immortal imdiately fell to his knees and vomited. Gu Longyu’s thods were incredibly rough and did not consider his well-being at all. Luckily, it was only nausea and no real harm.

A few minutes later, the immortal complained, “Can’t you be gentler, you brute?!”

Gu Longyu blinked. The immortal had the appearance of a young man, but his voice sounded like chis. That aggrieved tone was also not sothing a man would say.

He scanned the immortal with his saber intent. “You’re a woman?!”

The disguised immortal stood back up and wiped the vomit trailing down his chin. After composing himself, a mist covered his body. When the mist vanished, the man disappeared. In his place was a woman a quarter head shorter. She had luminescent skin, ink-black hair, and a vivaciousness uncommon in immortals.

She glared at Gu Longyu. “So what if I’m a woman?”

Gu Longyu smirked and walked toward her. He was a head taller than her, and coupled with his previous demonstration, the woman beca nervous and stepped back.

“Stop! What do you want to do?!” the woman demanded.

“What do I want to do? Didn’t you offer a reward? Let tell you—the reward better satisfy , or…” He scanned the woman up and down. “Or I’ll have to take matters into my own hands.”

The woman retreated, covering her torso with her arms. “W-what do you want?”

“I told you, it depends on whether your reward can satisfy ,” Gu Longyu said with a playful smirk, like he was teasing a cat.

The woman gritted her teeth. “Get over yourself. If you do anything, my mom will kill you!”

Gu Longyu raised an eyebrow. “Kill ? Unless she’s an immortal sovereign, I doubt she’d be able to kill .”

The woman said nothing. If it were anyone else who said this, she might not believe it, but she had seen Gu Longyu’s prowess. Finally, she gritted her teeth and threw a jade slip to him.

Gu Longyu caught it and sent his immortal sense into the jade slip after discovering no traps. The jade slip contained countless soul thods, and each one was more exquisite than any Gu Longyu had encountered as the Dragon Emperor. Granted, he didn’t seek out such techniques.

There was one more aspect: it was related to the Temple of Death. If his guess wasn’t wrong, this female immortal had sohow stolen the core thods of the temple. No wonder even an immortal monarch had been dispatched.

“Well?” the woman asked after seeing Gu Longyu’s satisfied smile.

“Where’s the rest?” Gu Longyu said, storing the jade slip.

“W-what are you talking about?”

Gu Longyu looked at her with half-lidded eyes. “I don’t believe you only obtained these thods. Hand them all over, or I will search for them myself.”

The woman gritted her teeth, looking like she wanted to stomp the ground. She wanted to quibble, but Gu Longyu was having none of it. After much back and forth, the woman finally relinquished two more jade slips.

Gu Longyu gave a satisfied nod after reading the information contained within the jade slips. He waved his hand as if dismissing a servant. “Alright, you can go now.”

The woman glared at him, looking like she wanted to scold him, but she held back. She knew she was not Gu Longyu’s opponent, and if she antagonized him again, she might not be able to leave so easily. However, this encounter cented Gu Longyu’s image in her mind. Even after returning to her ho planet, she would not be able to forget him.

Gu Longyu also left. He didn’t know if he would et that woman again, but he hoped so. He had tried to find out what force was behind her, but she was adamant. Even with the threat of death, she refused to open her lips, so Gu Longyu let her go.

Of course, Gu Longyu also knew that the woman had given him the jade slips with ulterior motives. She had likely already morized them or had copies. In the future, she could use them to threaten him. If this were ever exposed, the Temple of Death would definitely hunt him down.

He didn’t worry about how the woman would escape or leave the planet; he simply continued his journey of investigating Planet Heavensong as if that eting had never happened. After getting enough of a feel for the Temple of Death’s influence, Gu Longyu left the planet. He did not fly away but used an interplanetary teleportation array.

His target was not the planet with the least control by the Temple of Death, Planet Vivia. Because the Temple of Death had the least influence on Planet Vivia, they were bound to pay much closer attention to it. That didn’t an Gu Longyu wouldn’t visit. In his eyes, that planet was the perfect location for a spark of rebellion.

His chosen destination was split between the third least influenced planet and the fourth least influenced. After so deliberation, he chose the third least influenced planet, Whiteleaf. The most powerful force on Planet Whiteleaf was the Pure Life Sect. Compared to other forces, the Pure Life Sect had a majority of immortals comprehending the Law of Life.

Just from the law they focused on, it was easy to tell why they would not like the Temple of Death.

Gu Longyu discovered that although there weren’t as many believers of the Goddess of Death as on the average planet, the Temple of Death held firm sway over the planet. Even if the Pure Life Sect wanted to rebel, it was unlikely in this generation or the next several tens of generations.

Disappointed, Gu Longyu left. Of course, before leaving, he had to replenish his wealth. Once again, he chose to enter outer space, where he hunted many true immortals. Unlike the first ti, he had a criterion. If he discovered an immortal who was against the Temple of Death, he would spare them. If he didn’t know, then he would kill them.

It was not as if anyone would notice his actions, considering his concealnt thod. After learning the soul thods from the four jade slips taken from the female immortal, his concealnt only beca more perfect.

Next, he traveled to the second destination on his list. This one was a much better breeding ground for rebellion, but only moderately so. Once again, Gu Longyu entered outer space, but this ti, he had a surprise. He encountered the inheritance of an immortal emperor!

Inheritance wasn’t quite the right word. “Last will” would be more appropriate.

Through the narration of the late immortal emperor’s simulacrum, Gu Longyu gained a better understanding of the Temple of Death’s power. Although the Goddess of Death did not appear herself, two immortal sovereigns were dispatched to kill him.

Knowing that he was not a match for two immortal sovereigns, the immortal emperor fled into outer space, hoping to hide and cultivate to that level. Unfortunately, the immortal sovereigns possessed powerful artifacts, and he could not escape them.

In a last-ditch attempt, he hid his remaining wealth and treasures, except for his personal artifacts, and confronted the two immortal sovereigns. He both succeeded and failed. Judging by the year the simulacrum was made, the immortal emperor had died, but the two immortal sovereigns did not find this place.

It was actually a bit less wealth than Gu Longyu expected. Not only did it contain the immortal emperor’s personal wealth, it also contained the force he controlled. Unfortunately, neither he nor the force he controlled expected the Temple of Death to be so powerful, and this wealth was all the immortal emperor could scrounge up. That didn’t matter to Gu Longyu because he had found a complete true dragon corpse. Even if that were the only thing left, he would still be overjoyed. With the true dragon corpse, he could strengthen his body again.

Gu Longyu made no promises as he took everything. What was there to promise? His clash with the Temple of Death was destined.

With the abundant wealth, Gu Longyu no longer had to worry about transportation fees, but on each planet he visited, he still entered outer space and hunted immortals. Unlike before, he only targeted those he could ascertain belonged to the Temple of Death.

After visiting four planets, Gu Longyu visited the planet with the smallest influence from the Temple of Death. Unlike the sixteen other solar systems, this planet was in a constant state of war. According to Gu Longyu’s investigation, this was a newly discovered planet inducted into the Death Goddess Planetary Alliance. To his surprise, the Temple of Death did not wipe out the top forces and control them, but used them as a tempering ground for its mbers and allies.

It was an utter disappointnt for Gu Longyu.

Although it seed like a state of rebellion, in all honesty, the sixteenth planet was rely a hunting ground raised by the Temple of Death. And so, he left the newest addition to the Death Goddess Planetary Alliance.

Gu Longyu continued his travels. He also encountered a few of his clones. Most were still mortal cultivators, and a few had reached the Immortal Realm. That didn’t change their fate, as they beca his nutrients. Eventually, he reached the sixth planet of the Death Goddess Planetary Alliance, Whitesky.

To Gu Longyu’s amusent, he discovered that the Whitesky branch of the Temple of Death was actually not loyal to the goddess. They were loyal to the most powerful force on the planet, the Ancient Sky Sect.

Just as Gu Longyu was investigating the feasibility of joining forces, he encountered that woman again. Upon seeing him, she imdiately summoned her mother. Although the two looked remarkably similar, the immortal empress was like a statue carved out of a glacier.

To Gu Longyu’s surprise, the woman’s mother actually possessed a sovereign artifact. Still, in terms of pure power, Gu Longyu even held an edge. Thanks to his dragonic body, it was comparable to the average demon emperor. Although his mastery of the law was slightly inferior, his powerful willpower and saber intent made up for that defect. Not to ntion that he had raised his cultivation base to the fifth step of the Seamless Immortal Realm, becoming a peak immortal monarch.

The immortal empress stopped upon realizing that she could do nothing to Gu Longyu and invited him to the Ancient Sky Sect.

Gu Longyu obliged and learned that the woman he t on Planet Heavensong was called Springsnow. Her mother’s na was Empress Wintersnow.
