Chapter 72: Chapter 72: Shadow Fla Demon Wolf!_1

Tuck enjoyed operating on his own.

But that did not an he liked being outnumbered in combat.

If circumstances allowed, Tuck much preferred a brawl.

Summoning was undoubtedly an excellent thod to accomplish such operations.

Moreover,

the creatures summoned had many uses.

Next to the bone wall,

Tuck sat cross-legged at the foot of a skeleton mountain, having absorbed the day’s strengthening from the Barrier Ritual.

Before that, Tuck had also completed learning the “Shadow Contract Ritual.”

The Barrier Ritual connected with the great “Barrier.”

Whereas the Shadow Ritual was about reaching out to creatures from the Shadow Dinsion.

The two were slightly different.

Tuck may not have had much talent in summoning classes.

But, finding creatures from the Shadow Dinsion through rituals, that was sothing Tuck excelled at.

Even after learning the “Shadow Contract Ritual,”

with the basic summoning spells of witchcraft,

Tuck could already locate so weak creatures of the Shadow Dinsion by following his compatibility with it.

Relying on his powerful Precision, and the shadow power of the Rune, Shadow Ring Staff,

it was easy for Tuck to pull them through.

Yes, forcibly pull through.

It would be more accurate to call it abduction than summoning.

And that was exactly what Tuck did.

Summoning power infiltrated the Shadow Dinsion, picking two lucky audience mbers at random to pull across.

Once Tuck completed the Barrier Ritual, he would bind the faith in the Barrier World to those two lucky Shadow Creatures.

Upon Tuck releasing the summoning, the two Shadow Creatures fled in a panicky sprint.

“Finally, I don’t have to hassle Mr. Aubrey’s Undead Crows anymore.”

“Mr. Aubrey probably noticed too, just didn’t feel like ntioning it.”

“Just a little mischief is fine. If I went too far, Mr. Aubrey might give

a good scolding.”

Feeling that he had resolved the minor issue of self-sustaining the faith for Barrier,

Tuck had also addressed a small problem for his long-term stable developnt.

Tuck, seated atop the skeleton, slightly gathered his thoughts.

He focused on today’s Shadow Contract Ritual.

“The Shadow Contract Ritual has two types of contracts.”

“One is a simple summoning, just like I did just now, but the beings summoned are low-level Shadow Creatures.”

“In this regard, I really don’t have much Talent.”

“That Shadow sphere-like creature, I had never seen it before; it was so weak.”

“Counting on it to fight, I reckon it’d just be a single crunch away from defeat.”

“Rituals are the right way for

to find aides.”

“Construct the ritual, delve into the depths of the Shadow Dinsion, locate a powerful Shadow Creature, anchor it with a ritual, and complete the contract.”

“In theory, it’s simple, but in practice, it’s quite difficult.”

“A target too weak is certainly no good.”

“If too strong, once summoned, it’s an outright loss.”

“To find a creature that is neither too strong nor too weak would definitely not work with one or two contracts.”

“Repeated attempts, and the investnt in Shadow materials, are also not a small expenditure.”

Tuck had a certain amount of Shadow materials in his possession.

But he certainly couldn’t waste them recklessly.

“First, initiate a ritual to try it out, and contract it if I co across a suitable one.”

“After that, if there are extra Shadow materials, continue trying again and again.”

“I’ll proceed on the principle of seeking a better mount while riding a donkey, switching one by one.”

As the ideas gradually opened up, a plan also took shape.

During this period, Tuck had hoarded a considerable amount of materials.

Whether acquired on his own or scavenged from those Dark Sun Church assassins.

The materials for the Shadow Contract Ritual were also all collected.

But looking at the three Transcendent Storage Bracelets in his possession, all stuffed to the brim,

Tuck felt sowhat helpless.

“Encountering such a frequent occurrence of plundering, it’s indeed necessary to get a larger Transcendent Storage Bracelet.”

Soon, Tuck had completed the arrangent of the Shadow Ritual.

Black candles, a black wooden table, and a black dagger.

These were the basics of the ritual.

For the offerings, there were Shadow materials, a small cup of blood infiltrated and tainted by Shadow, and a portion of living life.

Living life?

A sacrifice of a living person?

Tuck was not at the point of such madness just yet.

A Black Mouse could take the place just fine.

Nowadays, there were Black Mice everywhere underground, seeing those seven or eight-pound rodents made Tuck’s skin crawl; how could they grow so large?

The black candle fla was lit, but the light was not very sufficient.

Tuck activated the Shadow, Rune Ring Staff, entering the Shadow State.

The ritual spells echoed around Tuck, sounding low and profound.

“Wandering between light and darkness, Shadow…”

“You are the courier of the Shadow Dinsion.”

“You are the fearless warrior in battle.”

“You are the guardian of the Shadow Contract.”

Through the filling of non-standard phrases in the ritual, the range of contract creatures could be generally pinpointed.

As Tuck chanted, a fierce Shadow wind swirled around him.

The presence of so Shadow Creatures erged, and through the surging Shadow wind, their outlines could even be seen.

They were all Ordinary Shadow Creatures of Level 17, Level 18.

Normally, this would be the range of the ritual’s effect.

If not satisfied, one would end the ritual, and try again at another ti and place.

Usually!

Before engaging in such rituals, it is best to seek Transcendents like Divination Masters, Prophets, etc., for predictions.

Good results, then go for it.

Bad results, clearly there’s no need to invest.

But Tuck obviously didn’t have such an opportunity.

However, Tuck didn’t really need it.

If luck wasn’t enough, talent would compensate.

Gradually focusing his mind, Tuck was no longer confined to the few Shadow Creatures encountered through the initial contracts. Instead, following the ritual’s frawork, he began to tap into the World Veins of the Shadow Dinsion.

He infiltrated deeper into the vast expanse of the Shadow Dinsion.

This was Tuck’s true “Grand Summoning Spell”.

The power of the ritual was originally a projection of a Different Domain. Under Tuck’s control, the radiated range was naturally vast.

Soon, Tuck felt the presence of an exceptionally ferocious Shadow Creature with a robust aura.

“You, co here!”

The power of the ritual instantly enveloped that Shadow Creature.

Whether you like it or not, I’ll drag you here by force.

As the Shadow vortex dissipated,

a giant wolf creature appeared before Tuck, roughly the size of a calf, with a robust figure and engulfed in black Shadow Flas.

[Shadow Fla Demon Wolf].

Tuck recognized it imdiately.

“Possessing significant Shadow bloodline power, and it’s an Elite Level creature,” he said.

“Moreover, this guy is a full 28 levels.”

“Its combat capabilities are quite formidable.”

“I estimate it could take on a dozen or more of those ordinary 17 or 18 level Shadow Creatures from my previous contracts without a problem.”

Tuck had a clear understanding of this “Shadow Fla Demon Wolf’s” level and bloodline power.

But the Shadow Fla Demon Wolf saw Tuck as its prey.

In one leap, the Shadow Fla Demon Wolf opened its gaping fanged mouth and bit down fiercely.

Tuck retaliated with a Sculpting Light Spear, thrusting it straight through its skull.

As cool as its leap was, the fall was equally tragic.

The Sculpting Light Spear, flowing into the brain cavity of the Shadow Fla Demon Wolf from its head, exited through its throat, pinning it to the ground.

The scorch of the Light made its struggling Shadow Flas splash all around and also cry out in a low, pitiful wail.

As a life form of the Shadow series, in Virtual Reality, it doesn’t have the drawbacks of a physical body’s weaknesses.

But when facing an opposing force, practically every part of it is a weak spot.

“Either… forge a pact and obey ,” Tuck said.

“Or… wait for death!”

After transmitting the ssage using the ritual, Tuck no longer paid attention to the Shadow Fla Demon Wolf.

The ritual wasn’t over yet, and under Tuck’s precise control,

he could still fish out a few more Shadow Fla Demon Wolves.

After all, creatures like Demon Wolves are social animals.

If there’s one Demon Wolf, then there must be a pack following.

It didn’t take long.

Under Tuck’s “Grand Summoning Spell”,

the second and the third Shadow Fla Demon Wolves were also pulled in by Tuck.

By the ti the fourth Shadow Fla Demon Wolf was secured,

Tuck felt a powerful presence from the Shadow Dinsion taking notice of him.

It was a power at the Leader Level.

“Retreat!”

Without any hesitation, Tuck imdiately withdrew.

At the mont, Tuck was only level 18.

That Leader Level power was at least starting from level 30, and even levels 38 or 39 were possible.

If Tuck had completed the Steam Upgrade, there might have been a chance to defeat it.

But now, the likelihood of defeat was overwhelmingly high.

Tuck glanced over the four Shadow Fla Demon Wolves he had captured and nodded with satisfaction.

Under the scorch of the Sculpting Light Spear, three of the wolves quickly submitted.

Tuck easily completed the pacts.

There was one that was particularly stubborn, literally getting burned to a thick black mist by the holy burn of the Sculpting Light Spear.

As that pool of black mist ford,

all three submissive Shadow Fla Demon Wolves simultaneously displayed a covetous, drooling deanor.

“Go ahead,” Tuck commanded, and the three Shadow Fla Demon Wolves pounced eagerly, tearing and devouring the thick black mist.

After the three Shadow Fla Demon Wolves finished devouring,

all three heads simultaneously showed Tuck a posture of obedience.

Wolf creatures naturally submit to stronger beings.

They were much easier to handle than Demonic creatures that were all spite with hardly any substance to them.

Tuck waved his hand,

and the three Shadow Fla Demon Wolves moved around Tuck into the shadows and disappeared.

“Two at level 28, one at level 26.”

“All have bloodline, all are Elite Level, none are weak in combat.”

“All three together would give

quite a challenge,” he admitted.

Tuck was quite satisfied with this ritual’s Shadow pact.

Compared to other types of summoned creatures, Shadow Creatures live in the shadows of the summoner.

They are more convenient to use.

After completing all this, Tuck began to pack up the altar items and spoke slowly,

“If you’re here, co out. Why all this sneaking around?”

As Tuck’s words ended, from the darkness, “Carlos”, wearing silver light armor, stepped out, his face a mix of curiosity and caution.

“It’s been a while since I saw you last. I did not expect you to have a talent for summoning, and your summons to be so formidable,” he said.

It was more than formidable!

It was astonishingly fierce.

Carlos had watched the Shadow Fla Demon Wolf clearly; it was a genuine Shadow Creature with bloodline power.

In a one-on-one fight, the odds were probably about three to seven.

And of course, the seven would be in favor of the Shadow Demon Wolf.

If there were two, Carlos might not be able to escape.

If three ganged up, Carlos figured that this day next year would likely be the anniversary of his death.

Carlos vaguely rembered the first ti he had adventured together with Tuck.

Back then, Tuck had been weaker than him.

But now,

Tuck’s summons were probably stronger than him by quite a bit.

“Just a few months, and he’s beco such an unthinkable freak!” Carlos said, shaking his head, then revealing his purpose.

“Tuck, my sister wants to see you.”
