This Text Adventure Game is definitely poisonous Chapter 1719: Dead Zone: Past Events (Part 1) – A World of O
As expected, a large group of pet rchants were lined up at the entrance of the nursery. Mu You had been here several tis with his parents, so he entered the grounds familiarly, counting heads in search.
After searching for several hours and going through nearly half the people in the factory, he finally found his parents in a corner.
At this mont, the two elders were at the accounting desk, their expressions excited, arguing loudly with the clerk about sothing.
Seeing his dad and mom, Mu You felt a touch of emotion. He moved a chair over nearby and sat down, chatting with the elders for a while, describing the situation at the pet store later on.
Since the sky wouldn’t change, it was also difficult for him to judge the ti. Although the scene was obviously packed with people, it was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. He was the only one speaking, and there was an inexplicable eeriness to it.
Mu You found himself unable to continue talking after a short while, even feeling a vague sense of unease in his heart.
Mu You had entered the Dead Zone before, but it was usually in battle, leaving no room to notice anything else. Normally, spinning the Endless-spinning Top lasted only ten seconds, over in the blink of an eye, leaving no impression.
Only now, having been alone in the Dead Zone for more than ten hours, did he truly understand the term ’Dead Zone.’
The whole world seed to consist only of him, as if it was a world solely belonging to him. This feeling was indeed novel at first, but the suffocating sense of oppression arrived faster than he imagined.
Mu You promptly stopped sharing, moved the two elders back inside, and sat them on the sofa before leaving the nursery base.
Regardless, having seen his parents this trip, it resolved a knot in his heart.
Next, it was ti to find Lin Xue.
He and Lin Xue had co in together, but initially, only he was able to move. He needed to find Lin Xue first and bring her into the Dead Zone for the two of them to start their lives.
Mu You got on his bike, heading straight towards the Lin Family.
"At this point, could Lin Xue have already gone abroad?" Mu You couldn’t help mumbling on the road.
Currently, he was just an ordinary person, and most transportation in this world was unusable. If Lin Xue were really abroad, it ant he’d have to walk there on two legs, which would certainly break his legs from the effort.
Fortunately, his luck was good.
Mu You rode to the Lin Family’s estate and smoothly found Lin Xue in the back garden of Grandma Lin Xue’s house.
Lin Xue was wearing a light yellow dress and a sun hat, holding a watering can while tending to the flowers in the garden.
At this age, Lin Xue was only 19; both in appearance and temperant, she was a bit more naive compared to the Lin Xue in his mory.
Having confird Lin Xue’s location, Mu You felt reassured.
He did not imdiately awaken Lin Xue afterward.
The awakening process was irreversible. After all, the Ti Cage was a ’cage.’ The sooner Lin Xue awoke, the more she would suffer.
Therefore, it was best for him to endure as long as possible himself, and only when he truly couldn’t take it anymore would he wake Lin Xue.
Mu You then returned to the pet store, preparing for a prolonged period of living alone at ho.
First, the most important thing was to keep track of ti. In this world without sunrise or sunset, where ti was permanently still, maintaining a sense of ti was crucial, as having a clear record of ti offered hope for getting through.
In this space, any inanimate object he touched would temporarily resu functioning, but there were many limitations, such as all electronic devices being unusable. His touch seed unable to effectuate energy forms like ’electricity’ which were non-physical.
Mu You went to a clock shop outside and gathered a bunch of chanical watches, selecting the best one to wear on his wrist, never to part with.
He then prepared nurous notebooks and diaries, maintaining the habit of writing logs each day, docunting dates in passing.
The second priority was a regular lifestyle. With the watch, Mu You adhered strictly to normal human habits, rising at sunrise and resting at sunset each day.
The final requirent was a clear and restrained mind. In this world free from oversight and restraint, everything was self-determined, and the human heart could unwittingly birth many wicked thoughts, such as a desire to destroy, kill, or indulge.
However, one absolutely couldn’t allow these wicked thoughts to grow. Once indulgence starts, one’s ntal state would gradually be eroded; once there’s a first ti, there will inevitably be a second, and more, until the day the mind completely rots.
Five thousand years promised to be a long journey, with a regular lifestyle and minimal desires being essential to avoid gradual decline. After all, staying here was not rely about surviving five thousand years; one had to maintain ntal stability throughout. If the sanity value lowered too far, the prison would devour him, leaving no chance to escape.
Mu You thus began a stable life at ho, reading and working during the day, resting at night, never skipping a al despite the tastelessness of the food and his lack of hunger or satiety. Yet, the ritualistic practices had to continue.
Even though Mu You had tried to pretend he was living a normal life, the sense of emptiness descended faster than imagined.
Vivian was right. The most terrifying aspect of the Ti Cage was not the loneliness of being alone, but that nothing done here had any aning.
The books at ho, and even all over the city, contained content only in parts he personally read; the rest were blank. Even if he wanted to read, he could only repeatedly go over what he knew by heart.
As for computers, the internet, or cellphones, those weren’t even worth considering.
Mu You even considered exercising, but his body wouldn’t change at all because the world’s physical attributes were locked from the start. No matter how long he trained, it wouldn’t add an ounce of muscle.
