Chapter 788: Chapter 787: New God

Gale roared furiously, Thor clenched Lucina’s arm and pulled her into his embrace. Just at that mont, he noticed that the electric current on his body had disappeared.

Lucina pushed Thor away and lay sideways on the ground, turning to look at Chen Ke with her mouth agape in shock.

“He can’t save you, hehe… You excite so much that even the thunder in my blood short-circuited,” Thor laughed as he looked at his hands. He clenched his fists, trying to summon the power of lightning, but he felt nothing.

The thunderclouds remained in the sky, swirling slowly with countless souls circling in the cloud hole; the electricity in the dark clouds appeared and disappeared intermittently.

Chen Ke stood there, his right hand holding Mjolnir with white lightning flickering in his eyes.

Thor looked at Chen Ke, and for a mont he tried to understand what he saw. After another failed attempt to invoke the thunderous power within him, he realized the gravity of the situation.

“No!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” Thor roared and reached out for the hamr, but it no longer responded to his call.

“You are not worthy.” Chen Ke smiled.

He lifted the hamr and threw it at Thor like tossing a rolling ball of lightning. Thunder God’s Hamr spun through the air and slamd into Thor’s chest with a thud.

“Aaaaahhhhhhhhh!” Thor scread as his robust body, like a swaying feather, was blown several hundred ters away, rolling over a dozen tis and leaving a long trail of blood, his intestines spilling out and his left arm fractured.

The hamr stopped in mid-air and the next second, it swiftly moved back to Chen Ke, landing steadily in his hand. Electricity coursed over Chen Ke, providing him with an electrostatic protective shield.

“Customized…” the hamr transmitted information to Chen Ke, deciding to change its form while in his hands.

Like Black Gun, Chen Ke’s requirents were not complex, he just needed a gun.

Understanding Chen Ke’s intent, the hamr began to transform in his hand. The handle slowly turned into a gun handle, the silver hamrhead lted and reshaped, elongating… Eventually, it turned into a silver shotgun.

Unlike Black Gun, Mjolnir did not have a rich history and had never transford into other shapes; it had always been a hamr.

“What’s the cost?” Chen Ke poised the shotgun with both hands.

“One soul per shot,” Mjolnir presented its condition.

“I understand,” Chen Ke muttered to himself.

Thor got up from the ground; the direct hit from the hamr was not a light injury, even for a demon who had faced attacks from Old Dominators, this was not sothing to be easily dealt with.

Deprived of his hamr, Thor was no longer the God of Thunder; he was just a demon consuming human souls.

As a demon, Thor could plunder human souls, which let him wield the power of this hamr. This was the legend of Valhalla—the so-called Hall of Heroic Spirits was nothing more than an ammunition store prepared by a demon for Old Dominators.

Chen Ke pulled out a soul, and with a whoosh, it was sucked into the shotgun. He grabbed the pump and cocked it as thunder rumbled in the sky.

“Chen Ke… show your rcy! Let go, I promise to never appear before you again!” Thor had no will to fight; having been accompanied by Mjolnir for a thousand years, he knew its power well.

“Don’t listen to his bullshit! Kill him!” Lucina lay on the ground, shouting angrily.

“Please! Spare ! Show your rcy! Chen Ke!” Thor yelled, clutching his broken arm, his chest and abdon bashed into a bloody hole by the hamr—how he could still speak so loudly with such injuries was a mystery.

“Go confess to your heroic spirits,” Chen Ke said.

Seeing that Chen Ke would not spare him, Thor imdiately turned and burst into his fastest speed, sprinting away.

Chen Ke pulled the trigger; the gunshot thundered, twelve beams of thunder energy erupted from the gun’s muzzle, trailing light tails as they chased after Thor.

Thor heard the gunshot and, clenched his teeth in pain; while sprinting at high speed, he suddenly turned and leaped to the left, jumping over four streets. The energy beams turned in mid-air to chase after Thor, hitting him in several pieces before he even landed.

First, his right thigh was hit, then his buttocks and back, and finally his head. Thor’s body broke apart mid-air, crashing onto the street with a loud smack, bits of limbs falling on car roofs, causing the alarms to blare.

The shotgun whooshed out of Chen Ke’s hands and turned into a pendant of silver bullets strung together by a coarse brown rope, hanging around his neck.

Chen Ke hurried to Lucina’s side and pulled her into his embrace. Lucina’s injuries had healed on their own, but she was still terrified by Thor’s recent actions.

“It’s okay now, you did great,” Chen Ke held her and gently patted her back.

Lucina didn’t say a word; she was still in shock, curled up in Chen Ke’s arms, her body trembling slightly, covered in blood and dust mixed with sweat.

The dark clouds gradually dispersed, the masses of clouds ca quickly and left just as fast. The battle wasn’t prolonged, but the Administration Bureau had definitely taken notice. Chen Ke didn’t care, right now, he didn’t care about anything anymore.

After that, Chen Ke found Thor’s body with the Holy Diamond on it. The two of them entered the Teleportation Gate and t with others inside the Illusion Dream Center.

Two weeks later.

News of Thor’s death spread quickly among relevant circles, and all organizations secretly connected to Thor ca to recognize Chen Ke.

Whether they felt fear or secret joy, it no longer mattered because, in their eyes, Chen Ke had taken Thor’s place and had beco the new god walking the earth.

The attack on Wuan Heavy Industry was abruptly halted, and online slander against Li Moyang disappeared without trace.

Thor’s body was disposed of, perhaps taken by the research institute, or maybe collected by the Administration Bureau. The Administration Bureau and city hall strove to repair the damage caused by the battle, yet nobody investigated the aftermath of the battle.

So mysterious invitations, via Li Moyang, were handed to Chen Ke. So were pleas for protection, others for cooperation, or simply… a declaration of their presence.

“They say gods cannot be killed, but you did it, Chen Ke,” Li Moyang poured a glass of whisky and handed it to Chen Ke.

At this mont, they were resting in a new mansion; Li Moyang and Chen Ke were talking in the second-floor drawing room of the manor.

“I didn’t kill a god; I just made a friend with one,” Chen Ke took the glass and clinked it against Li Moyang’s.

After downing the drink in one gulp, he looked out the window; Lucina and Diana were frolicking in the pool. Now, they hardly needed any bodyguards; no one dared to disturb them.

Parker was hiding in his room, playing video gas with Sleery, and Wang Ailin was sleeping.

Chen Ke had found five Holy Diamonds; the last one was in Asgard.

The end wasn’t here yet, but it was close.

“I hope you only say this to because now many mysterious organizations are erging, and they’d pay any price just to et you,” Li Moyang said.

“Fuck them, I don’t have ti,” Chen Ke sighed.

“Anyway, you killed Thor. In many people’s eyes, you’ve replaced him. Do you know? Almost all Spiritual Ability Enterprises across the federation are planning to set up branches in Opportunity City,” Li Moyang added.

“So… does Opportunity City have opportunities again?” Chen Ke smiled.

“You are the opportunity. Now whether it’s in business circles, the underworld, or even political circles… no one wants to anger you, especially… in this era of red skies. They secretly gossip that you are about to establish a new order…” Li Moyang said.

“Are they fucking stupid? Look at it, the sky is red like the blood of a virgin, this world is goddamn dood, and we can’t do anything about it. And still, they’re pondering this?” Chen Ke said.

“That’s how the world works; it’s human limitation. Many people want to be in your place, but they don’t have the power,” Li Moyang said.

“Thanks for shielding from all those invites; I’m not very good at handling this,” Chen Ke lifted the empty glass and shook it.

Li Moyang chuckled, turned around, and picked up the bottle to refill their glasses.

“But this ti, I think you should et them,” Li Moyang suddenly changed his tune.

“What’s so special this ti?” Chen Ke stopped the glass he was about to drink from.

“They say they’re from the 2137 Foundation,” Li Moyang said.

“They?” Chen Ke was taken aback.

“They aren’t here to fight. They want to discuss; they think there was a misunderstanding before. And… they’ve brought a big gift,” Li Moyang said.

“What could the Foundation possibly give… sothing from a circular prison?” Chen Ke set down his glass.

“No, they brought Ling Yuheng,” Li Moyang said.
