Chapter 680: Chapter 680: Freeze

Two iron can-heads stunned by the recent explosion staggered out of the collapsed convenience store, adding to the seven on the right, and including the captain who had been thrown out, there were a total of ten enemies on the ground.

Chen Ke pushed off with both feet, the Ascension Armor Suite’s ability triggered, and he charged away from his original spot, madly running toward the underground parking garage to the side.

After all, there were still enemies sniping at him from the sky, and with the distance being so vast, he could only feel the killing intent and could not tell how many there were.

“Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud!”

Blue pulse energy rain began to fall from the sky again, hitting Chen Ke’s Ascension Armor on the back. It was as if soone had forcefully shoved him from behind; he stumbled and fell to the ground, feeling as if his back, chest, and abdon were about to lt away from the intense pain.

Gritting his teeth, Chen Ke stood up. The pain lasted for less than two seconds before disappearing. The seven can-heads weren’t just going to watch Chen Ke escape; they took out next-gen rifles from behind and sprayed him with bullets.

“Hey!”

“biu! biu! biu! biu! biu! biu! biu! biu!”

Teal beams of light poured down on Chen Ke like rain, the energy beams stopping mid-air, hovering around Chen Ke, turning the circular space around him into a hedgehog sphere.

“My turn,” he said.

Chen Ke hid inside a ti bomb, extending the Gatling gun’s barrel out.

The six barrels began to slowly spin, like a prelude to a horror symphony.

The seven can-heads exchanged a look and imdiately retreated backward with an explosive burst.

“Ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta!!!!!!”

The Gatling roared furiously, a weapon that was usually mounted on Black Hawk military helicopters. Now, it was mounted on the ground, transford into a Divine Blood Gun Platform.

Red Divine Blood Bullets drew a fiery line, as Chen Ke carved a terrifying trench out of the cent ground, and then struck one of the can-head’s hind legs, severing it along with its armor.

Even with a leg chopped off, the can-head still activated cruise mode, flying up into the sky; the blood leaking from its leg stump was like a faucet that had been forgotten to be turned off.

Suddenly, there was a noise from the right-side staircase, and the captain burst out, arm armor extending a blue energy blade, and with a great leap, he plumted towards Chen Ke.

He jumped into the range of the ti bomb, but his body didn’t slow down, directly aiming a blade at Chen Ke’s head.

Chen Ke’s hands were empty as the Banshee Greatsword t the energy blade with a clang, the two locked fiercely together.

“You’ve got quite a few tricks,” the captain pressed in on Chen Ke, with blue energy pulses emanating from the thrusters on his back and the nozzles on his arms.

Chen Ke couldn’t withstand the force but had a flash of inspiration. He disengaged the greatsword, deflecting the captain’s force downward to the left, then spun and charged out of the ti bomb’s range.

The captain stabbed his blade into the ground, and just as he looked up, the ti bomb was deactivated. The previously suspended energy beams all shot at him at once.

“Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah!!!!!!” The captain let out a scream, his armor was focused-fired, the right arm armor sizzled out sparks, burned into black, the captain suffered severe injuries on his right side, lying sideways on the ground, blood spraying out from cracks in the damaged armor.

“Life signs declining, injecting cardiac stimulant.”

“Painkiller injected, clotting agent injected, starting to apply wound adhesive.”

AI voices continuously ca from within the captain’s armor, but he was well aware that such injuries couldn’t be handled by the armor.

The helt clanged down, and the captain glared at Chen Ke.

“You’re really ugly,” Chen Ke said.

“Chen Ke-2, I’ll rember you,” the captain snarled.

At that mont, his armor started emitting an intense red glow.

“Initiate self-destruct sequence.”

“Countdown 5, 4”

The captain was screaming as he burned inside his armor. Although Chen Ke didn’t understand why the captain was torturing himself, from his years of watching Hollywood blockbusters, he feared this might be a self-destruct situation.

Chen Ke imdiately ran far away, but the anticipated explosion didn’t occur. The armor simply ignited and then turned into a pile of scrap tal. The flesh of the captain inside the armor was reduced to a thick, foul-slling slurry, which after a while, turned into black ash.

Chen Ke saw the letters H.C.P on their armor’s right arm, but even without this detail, by the look of the armor alone, he recognized it as equipnt from the Foundation. What Xu Jing ntioned was happening; the Foundation was making a move against him.

They were all beings beyond ti and unbound by ti stops; hence, ti bombs could only be used to block bullets. Chen Ke knew that the scar-faced, one-eyed captain wasn’t dead; he had simply returned to where he originally existed.

The danger hadn’t passed. Those team mbers hadn’t let him off the hook. Knowing that Chen Ke possessed the ability to stop ti, they had abandoned their firearms for a high-speed lee battle, and even those in the sky dived down at three tis the speed.

“Damn,” Chen Ke glanced around, suddenly realizing he had to face more than a dozen people at once and had a bad feeling.

The next second, a dozen light blades extended toward him. Chen Ke raised his Banshee Greatsword and unleashed the Banshee’s wail, its sound wave like a deathly howl that instantly made half of the “tin cans” cease moving. He positioned the greatsword in front of him, knocking down two and taking on the rest with his Ascension Armor.

The light blades weren’t as potent as their bullets; the armor could withstand them.

Through the gap in his dragon head helt, Chen Ke’s gaze t that of the group, his pupils flashing red light.

Suddenly, the ‘tin cans’ all retreated explosively, their armor turning a dark green color.

In an instant, they were hundreds of ters away from Chen Ke, forming a circle around him as if anticipating sothing.

“What’s going on?” Chen Ke stood still.

“The captain has been recalled, 412 and 321 have also been recalled; H2 is taking over command, setting armor to thermal insulation mode,” H2’s communication channel lit up.

“Roger.”

“Roger.”

“Roger.”

“Roger.”

“Roger.”

“The target has not released high heat.”

“Wait…”

Both sides remained in a standoff, each suspecting the other’s intentions.

“Don’t get close, don’t get close… The target’s high heat is instantaneous, Xu Jing’s records have reported it,” H2 said.

“Does it exceed the lting point of the armor?” a team mber asked.

“It has destroyed the first generation armor in the Great Void,” H2 replied.

“First generation…” a team mber hesitated.

“The first generation is better than the second… The second generation armor is mass-produced…” another team mber reminded.

“…”

Chen Ke didn’t know what the other side was up to, but he knew this was a good opportunity to attack, having originally thought his firearms would be ineffective against the armor.
