Chapter 645: Chapter 645: Three to Go

“No matter what you say, this is impossible,” Lucina complained.

“That’s not for you to decide,” the female doctor said, holding a can of spray and misting Lucina’s waist and abdon.

Chen Ke pushed the door and entered, standing soaking wet at the doorway, looking at them expressionlessly.

“Chen, tell her, I’m perfectly fine, there’s no need to rest in bed for a long ti!” Lucina saw Chen Ke co in and huffed angrily.

The female doctor glanced at Chen Ke’s upper body, her cheeks reddened slightly, and she forced herself to look down at the floor.

“Doctor, what’s wrong with her?” Chen Ke asked.

“Miss Lucina’s physical condition is not as good as it seems. She needs to rest in bed, for at least half a year,” the female doctor said.

Chen Ke said nothing, walked over to Lucina, squatted beside her, and placed his right hand on her waist.

In the past few months, a lot had happened. When he first t her as a delivery man, in Chen Ke’s eyes Lucina was just a female bandit who was difficult to talk to. But over this extensive period of interaction, she had beco an irritable yet dumb and big sisterly figure to Chen Ke. Accompanying these changes in perception were the wounds that had gradually increased on Lucina’s body.

“She really needs to rest. I don’t know what she’s been through in the past few weeks, but I know her injuries are ridiculously severe. She has two broken ribs that are still not healed, and a very deep wound on her waist that was only treated with adhesive in a rather unprofessional way. If Miss Lucina didn’t have a stronger constitution than most people, she would have been lying on the ground unable to move by now,” the female doctor said.

“It’s his fault. He never pampered or treated like his little sunshine,” Lucina glanced at Chen Ke.

“Can you arrange a comprehensive treatnt for her?” Chen Ke looked at the female doctor.

“Of course, but after that, she must rest for half a year, convalesce, avoid strenuous activities, keep her emotions from fluctuating too much, eat well, drink well. I know Mr. Chen has special circumstances, often engaging in high-intensity battles, but you might consider not taking her with you; her physical condition cannot handle that kind of intense activity,” the female doctor said.

“I haven’t even known him for half a year, and now you want to stay here alone and wait for another half year?” Lucina was sowhat furious.

“Lucina, calm down… listen to the doctor,” Chen Ke patted Lucina’s back.

“I need to treat your internal injuries first. Your external wounds are a ss. Many scars and bruises look new,” the female doctor shook her head.

Chen Ke knew why that was because they had spent a long ti at the Illusion Dream Center, and her physical condition had been frozen in stasis.

“Listen to the doctor, you are the only ordinary person among us; you need ti to rest,” Chen Ke advised her.

He definitely didn’t want his woman to die from overexertion.

“How about tonight? I can bring my team over,” the female doctor said.

“Let’s do that, then. You go back and make the arrangents; this place should be very safe,” Chen Ke nodded.

The female doctor nodded at Chen Ke and took one more glance at him before leaving.

Lucina punched Chen Ke’s shoulder with her little fists, looking displeased. She had already stayed in the courier’s underground safe house for a long ti, and now she had to stay in this small villa for a long ti; her face was full of sorrow.

“People have limits. I can get my arm chopped off and grow it back in two seconds; can you?” Chen Ke persuaded.

“I don’t like this, not one bit. It feels like imprisonnt! Are you trying to keep confined for your pleasure?! I don’t want to be left alone in the house for so placed play; I crave battle!” Lucina argued angrily.

Chen Ke extended a finger and jabbed the area on Lucina’s abdon that was cleared of contusions. She squinted her eyes, covered her abdon with her hands, bending down, her sharp attitude suddenly deflated.

“Ouch…” Lucina cried out in pain.

Chen Ke’s arms went through her knees and back, muscles in his arms tensing up, veins about to pop.

“Hey!” Chen Ke exclaid softly, picking Lucina up from the stool, walking a few shaky steps, and tossing her onto the bed.

“Look at you. If sothing did happen, you’d just end up being abused.” Chen Ke exhaled heavily, “Man, you’re heavy…”

Lucina got up from the bed, knelt, wrapped her arms around Chen Ke’s waist, and said, “The next Witch power, you must give it to , you must!”

“Uh… do you think those things are like pancakes that you can just get anyti?” Chen Ke sighed.

Witch Olivia, the Furious Witch, was not an easy adversary to deal with. An Helei, who had already gone mad and turned into a dry corpse, was already tough enough, let alone Olivia, who was lucid and in her pri.

With Witch Olivia backed by an entire organization, Chen Ke did not believe he stood a chance against her in a one-on-one fight. Perhaps she would show up with dozens of professionals and hundreds of gunn; after all, that’s how modern folks rolled when it ca to a brawl.

“Are you regretting it now? Turning down Fla’s power,” Chen Ke asked.

“No, I don’t regret it,” Lucina said.

“Why?” Chen Ke was sowhat puzzled.

“If I had beco the Fla Witch right then, that little fairy wouldn’t have survived till today,” Lucina said.

Chen Ke sat on the edge of the bed, suddenly feeling sowhat moved.

“But! You should never have saved that bitch Sleery! If I’d known it would turn out like that, I should have stopped you,” Lucina added.

“There are no ifs in this world…” Chen Ke replied helplessly.

“Aren’t you able to travel through ti? Couldn’t you go back to that mont and make a different choice?” Lucina suddenly asked.

“It’s not that easy. If I could freely choose where to go, that would simplify matters… I don’t know why, but my ti travel isn’t that free,” Chen Ke shook his head.

“Then stop thinking about what can’t be changed. There’ll be another chance in the future, right?” Lucina asked.

Chen Ke didn’t respond. Speaking of chances, there definitely would be one. The Furious Witch Olivia would surely co after him, and regardless, Chen Ke still needed at least five witches to empower the stone.

He counted on his fingers: Diana had secured one, he had another in hand, so he needed to find four more. Even if he included Sleery and the eventually dood Olivia, he could only possibly have three witches around him, still three short.

Witches don’t just fall from the sky; Olivia was an exception. Where was he going to find three more witches…

“Are you ntally prepared? Becoming non-human cos with a price,” Chen Ke said.

“To hell with the price. I see the rest of you living it up, while I’m the only one suffering,” Lucina punched Chen Ke in the chest.

The two laughed together for a while, their faces slowly drew closer, primitive urges surging, Chen Ke was shirtless, and Lucina found herself losing control.

“Are you seducing ? Hm?” Lucina wrapped her arms around Chen Ke’s neck.

“Can you handle it now?” Chen Ke asked with a smile.

“Why don’t you try?” Lucina lay down, and Chen Ke propped himself up on the bed with his hands.

Their lips were about to et when Diana suddenly called out from downstairs.

“Chen Ke!!!! Chen Ke!!! Chen Ke!!!”

Chen Ke looked towards the window and imdiately got up and walked to the windowsill.

“What?” He looked down at Diana in the swimming pool.

“Your phone is vibrating! It has been for a while now; it must be an important call,” Diana said.

Chen Ke turned to look at Lucina, flashing an awkward smile. A call at this ti; if it wasn’t Li Moyang, then it was Laura. Speaking of Laura, he had a peculiar book to hand over to her for research, wondering whether she had figured anything out about those bizarre symbols yet.

Chen Ke went downstairs and ran to the backyard to pick up his phone. It was Li Moyang calling.

“Hello,” Li Moyang said.

“We’re just a wall apart… you could’ve just shouted…” Chen Ke looked towards the other side of the wall.

“I’ve managed to get the guns you wanted, and there’s sothing even more important. You better co over here,” Li Moyang said.

“What is it?” Chen Ke asked.

“I think I’ve found Sleery,” Li Moyang answered.
