Chapter 612: Chapter 612: Saw at Cleaver Badge

Diana ca to the old woman’s corpse and poked it with the tip of her sword, regardless of what this old lady truly was, now she had turned into a pile of charred trash,

Unfortunately, if she could have caught her alive, she could have interrogated her, but recalling her own pathetic state earlier, it was a miracle she hadn’t been killed—Diana couldn’t ask for more.

She called back her Moonlight Sword and circled the room, finding no invitation-like objects.

“Hope the fire didn’t burn the invitation to ashes…” Diana muttered hopefully. Looking up, she saw a narrow passage on the right wall.

She hurried over, eager to investigate. Standing at the entrance and peering inside, she saw a small wooden door with a window at the end of the passage.

Diana didn’t hesitate to step into the corridor, which was narrow and cramd, barely wide enough for an adult to squeeze through, and turning around was quite difficult. With her height, she could just barely stand up straight—if she wore a helt, she’d probably have to bend over to move forward.

Diana ca near the door and, looking through the small window, saw a chair with a bloodied, naked man sitting in it.

She thought for a mont, then pushed the door open and stood at the entrance, waiting a few seconds to ensure there was nothing extra inside, then stepped in.

The small room was very tiny, with the man sitting on a wooden chair in the middle, the chair’s legs chained to the floor—an outright torture chamber.

The man was a Caucasian with blond dium-length hair and a beard on his chin, his skin bruised and lacerated, his six-pack abs mutilated by so form of torture tool, and his pectoral muscles marred by knife slashes. The blood on his body had dried, and the peeling flesh was beginning to darken. A small wooden trolley nearby displayed a whole set of torture tools that had been used on him.

The man’s clothes were placed on a table to the side—a modest trench coat outfit with a leather tri-cornered hat. Beside the table, leaned a folded serrated knife that looked quite vicious.

This scene brought back mories of the ti Diana was held captive in Yasla’s custody. She bent down to check the man’s breath and found it faint but present.

“Can you hear speaking? Big boy?” Diana asked.

The man with his head hung low slightly moved, and after a long, pained sigh, he finally looked up, attempting to see Diana’s face clearly.

“Danger… danger… The witch can beco invisible…” Even in such pain, he warned Diana first thing.

“Is she a witch? Don’t worry about her anymore, she’s already dead,” Diana reassured, trying to untie the ropes binding the man’s hands. She had no dagger, and the Moonlight Sword was too large, so she tried to untie them by hand.

“Dead…? Then you’re quite formidable… I ran out of blood vials… couldn’t hurt her,” the man said painfully.

“What’s your na? Why are you here?” Diana managed to untie one of the ropes.

“I’m… El, a Secret Keeper… Aren’t you one? What’s with the armor you’re wearing?” El countered with a question.

“For a severely injured man, you sure have a lot of questions,” Diana said as she finished untying the ropes, then stepped back and handed El his clothes.

“How could you possibly deal with that—oh… it hurts so much…” El took the clothes but didn’t want to move due to the pain.

Diana knew how painful El’s wounds were; she could only wait patiently for him to adjust.

“I’m not a Secret Keeper, but I saved you. Shouldn’t you tell what happened to you?” Diana asked.

“Isn’t it obvious… I tracked them here, then I ran out of blood vials and got captured by that old hag… I thought I was done for…” El said.

“Where did you co from…? Is there a way back to Langdon from here?” Diana asked.

“What else?… Oh… Did you fly here or sothing?” El replied irritably.

“I voluntarily let them capture ,” Diana fabricated a lie. “The Descent Sect’s followers captured my sister, and I am here to find her.”

“Forgive my bluntness… miss… your sister might be among those corpses outside… it’s unlikely she survived,” El said.

“I know, I have no hope, so I am here for revenge,” Diana said.

“Then you must be quite sothing… Who exactly are you? Ordinary citizens can’t overco those things, you better explain yourself,” El said.

“I am the one who saved you, El, why do you sound like you’re interrogating ?” Diana was sowhat annoyed.

“Please forgive my nervousness, working as a night watchman, one has to be careful and cautious… Your armor makes have to ask… I’ve never seen anyone like you… like this… hiss…” El bent over in pain.

“Do you have any dicine here? You’re badly injured, it’s a pity for your nice abs… I an… we should hurry back,” Diana said.

“No… I can’t move… my injuries are too severe… take my badge, go find the Secret Keeper, tell them El is in Henwick’s birthing room, they will send soone,” El said, grating a small necklace from his overcoat. The necklace was shaped like a folded, serrated knife, identical to the weapon leaning against the table.

“How do I find the Secret Keeper?” Diana asked.

“There’s a small church in Langdon called Yadan… show the serrated knife badge to the priest… then tell him the ancient bloodline has not been broken… he will understand,” El said in agony.

Diana picked up the badge and hung it around her neck.

“Alright… May I ask your na? Madam?” El asked.

“My na is Diana, I might be able to carry you back, trust , I’m very strong, carrying a man is no problem,” Diana said.

“No… the way back is not safe, I can only hold you back, the problems with the Descent Sect are more serious than expected, you must bring other Secret Keepers here, this ssage is far more important than my life,” El said.

“Okay, El, I will get them to co, but I have one last question…” Diana said.

“Ask quickly…” El sighed.

“Have you seen an invitation letter…?” Diana asked.

El fell silent for a mont, looking at Diana with a sowhat grave expression.

“What’s wrong?” Diana noticed the change in El’s attitude.

“Nothing… I’ve never heard of any invitation letter, never heard of it, you should leave now, Ms. Diana, go to the Yadan church, get the Secret Keeper to co…” El said.

“Uh… how do I get back?” Diana asked again.

El told Diana the way back, ntioning that many weird people road that path, but since Diana had killed the witch, the fat man shouldn’t appear.

“Don’t forget… the ssage… the ancient bloodline is still unbroken… Yadan church…” El said.

“I know, El, I know,” Diana assured repeatedly.

She left the cabin and after exiting the passage, she turned her head for one last glance, El’s head was drooping, as if he was resting.

The serrated knife badge on Diana’s chest reflected a dull silver-gray, Diana needed to talk to Chen Ke.
