Over the next 72 hours...
In the manor, Chen Ke’s designated room was quickly completed with basic renovations and arrangents.
Following Chen Ke’s request, Sleery had the construction team seal off the windows, pull in network cables, and install a warm air blower, showerheads, and a comfortable bidet toilet in the bathroom.
The room’s walls were embedded with signal shielding panels, which not only isolated external detection signals but also prevented the detection of thermal signals within the room, while sound-absorbing carpets were laid on the floor.
Li Moyang wouldn’t allow anyone else near this room, and the connected corridor also beca a restricted area; they could spend most of their ti here, without having to hide in Chen Ke’s Illusion Dream Center because, compared to a refuge, the Dream Center more closely resembled a prison.
Chen Ke had just discussed the issue of weapons supply with Li Moyang. He needed guns, lots of guns, and with the aid of a Dinsion Pocket and Divine Blood Bullets, the current Chen Ke beca an anthropomorphic armory, capable truly of the operation of "pulling out a bunch of guns from his pants."
In the United Federation, buying guns was legal, but you needed a permit. Hunting rifles were manageable, but handguns needed strict identification, and the market for military automatic weapons was outright banned.
Li Moyang wasn’t Pihom, his connections were virtually ineffective in the United Federation. Money could solve any problem for him, but if it were troubleso or simply unsolvable with money, then he also needed to think of other thods.
"I need so ti, the guns you want are all military weapons, and even the black market doesn’t have police or military HK416s," Li Moyang said.
"An AR15 that can only fire single shots is useless to . I need a full-size automatic rifle to deal with the majority of situations," Chen Ke said.
He currently had Li Moyang’s grenade launcher on hand, and both his shotgun and handgun were damaged in combat.
Chen Ke planned to equip himself with at least five weapons: a high-powered Magnum pistol, a shotgun, an automatic rifle, a 9mm pistol, and a grenade launcher — perfectly forming the five top weapons from FPS gas.
Chen Ke hadn’t dismissed the idea of sniping, but he didn’t know how to use them, and in an urban environnt, within a range of 500 ters, an automatic rifle switched to single-fire mode with a scope attached could also snipe, so he abandoned the idea of getting a sniper rifle.
"I’ll have to think about the automatic rifle, but there shouldn’t be any problem with the others. However, you’ll have to wait a while because I’m currently busy looking for a new place for us all to move to. I hope to settle this matter within six months," Li Moyang said.
"Six months... that’s too long," Chen Ke shook his head.
"Your concept of ti seems different from others... I don’t an this as criticism, but I’ve always felt like you were in a rush," Li Moyang said.
"I’m used to seizing every second, I’m already much slower than before," Chen Ke said.
Ever since he activated the Illusion Dream Center, he hadn’t been as concerned about the ti display in the upper right corner of his vision. Deities had a shallow understanding of human language, and when communicating with humans, they would use so incorrect vocabulary to express themselves.
When the life countdown reached zero, Chen Ke wouldn’t die; he would rely be sent back to the Illusion Dream Center. What was called a lifespan was, in fact, just a countdown of ti spent in the dream world.
I wonder if this thing can be renad?
Just as Chen Ke entertained this thought, the words "life countdown" disappeared, and a character input cursor began to blink continuously.
So it can be changed... then let’s rena it to "World Residence Ti."
As soon as Chen Ke thought of it, the characters morphed accordingly, and from then on, the life countdown beca the World Residence Ti; imdiately afterward, the notification changed as well.
"World Residence Countdown: 49 hours 12 minutes 23 seconds."
That looks much more pleasant.
"Chen Ke? Chen Ke? Are you daydreaming?" Li Moyang looked at Chen Ke with a curious gaze.
"I just rembered sothing else, got distracted," Chen Ke said with a smile.
"The acquisition of Lescott has been completed, and next is Si’s consortium. Once these two are in my pocket, Opportunity City will be entirely mine. However, people from the municipal governnt keep applying pressure," Li Moyang said.
"Soone keeps causing you trouble. I think you should be aware that these consortia aren’t acting independently. I’ve heard that the United Federation’s spiritual enterprise giants have ford an organization called ’the company,’ and they’re up to sothing strange behind the scenes," Chen Ke said.
"Right, I’ve known that for a while now. They have a deep foundation of power within the Federation, and it’s not easy to shake them. I’ve tried to bribe their fringe mbers before, to infiltrate their ranks bit by bit, and even attempted to use capital to hit their stock market, but all ended in failure," Li Moyang candidly admitted.
"What about now? Have you thought of any new thods?" Chen Ke asked.
"To join them," Li Moyang said.
"If things go as expected, the person who ca to assassinate you was probably sent by the company. They’ll either reject you, or set up a Banquet at Hong Gate for you," Chen Ke said.
"Of course, I’m aware. I’m not an idiot. Joining them isn’t the goal; it’s to et with them face to face," Li Moyang said.
"When you want to deal with soone, at the very least, you need to know what they look like," Chen Ke nodded.
"So you think it’s a good idea too?" Li Moyang asked.
"As long as you have a way to hide that suit of armor you have. Otherwise, they’re sure to set up a dozen Italian cannons outside the door waiting for you," Chen Ke shook his head.
"Since when are there Italian cannons?" Li Moyang was puzzled.
Chen Ke forgot that this world didn’t have the country of Italy, so he scratched his head, thinking about how to explain.
"Just think of it as sothing like Superman," Chen Ke said.
"I won’t be going in wearing that thing. I just need to bring one bodyguard with ," Li Moyang smiled and said.
Chen Ke understood what he ant.
"I think they will set a trap, and once we walk in, a hail of bullets will take us down," Chen Ke said.
"There’s also the possibility of actually eting with them, who knows? I think it’s worth the risk," Li Moyang said.
"When will it be?" Chen Ke didn’t beat around the bush.
"I’m waiting for their ssage. It seems they’re also considering whether I might set a trap," Li Moyang said.
"Got it. I’ll just stay here these days, not going anywhere," Chen Ke said.
Chen Ke had had an indirect experience with the company; however, its hierarchy was so high that with his status in the United Federation, he had practically no way to make contact. This ti, with Li Moyang as a stepping stone, he could finally glimpse the true face of the company.
Of course, there was a high chance of walking straight into soone else’s trap, but he still had enough souls on hand to make a full retreat if necessary.
After a brief farewell from Li Moyang, Chen Ke turned and entered the room, only to see Diana sitting in newly purchased pajamas, playing on the computer, with Lucina and Parker standing behind her, watching the screen with rapt attention.
"You can’t make this turn, the trailer is too long," Lucina comnted as she watched.
"There seems to be so scraping at the back..." Parker added.
"I can make it... just stop talking, let focus..." Diana frowned, carefully pressing the directional keys, her body twisting left and right in front of the screen.
Chen Ke, curious, walked up and also stopped to look; it turned out Diana was playing Euro Truck Simulator...
