Chapter 530: Chapter 530 Diana Checks In

Diana’s fla-like long hair slowly faded to a common deep brown, her body once crackling with fiery energy now reverted to that of an ordinary Caucasian woman.

The Witch Inheritance reconstructed Diana’s body, erasing all past wounds and diseases, leaving her skin as clean as a newborn’s. She covered her chest and lower body with her hands, her face flushed red, gaze uneasily resting on Chen Ke.

Chen Ke recalled the An Helei armor and took off his jacket, draping it over Diana. He was taller than Diana, so the jacket just covered the essentials.

Diana pulled up the jacket’s zipper, tugging the jacket down a bit.

“Lucina? Are you there?” Chen Ke connected a call.

“Of course I’m here. Whatever happened, your fire just burned down three streets of houses, and now a whole company of firefighting trucks is heading this way. You’d better get to quickly!” Lucina urged.

Chen Ke ended the call, lifted Diana, and said, “It’s ti for us to leave, Princess Diana.”

Chen Ke and Lucina had devised a foolproof rescue plan that naturally included an evacuation phase. Once Chen Ke succeeded, they would et at a certain convenience store, enter through the main gate into Chen Ke’s Illusion Dream Center, and leave instantly.

However, the situation they now faced was not anticipated. Yasla was probably not completely dead, but little of it remained, yet it was the civilians nearby who had suffered the consequences.

After successfully leaving Opportunity City, they folded space through the Illusion Dream Center and arrived at Lucina’s house.

Lucina, rather unwillingly, rummaged through her closet to find so clothes for Diana. In no ti, Diana changed into them—a red tank top, a pair of black jeans, and white sneakers.

“Your style is pretty similar to mine, Lucina. You have a good figure… do you also enjoy fitness?” Diana asked.

“I prefer strength training,” Lucina replied.

“I enjoy that too, but I like to mix it with full-body exercises, like swimming or sothing… Hm, is your waist a bit wide…? I can fit a thumb into this waistband,” Diana comnted, slipping her thumb into the jeans’ waistband.

“You’re just too skinny, little sister,” Lucina said, arms crossed and eyebrows raised.

“I think you’re just too bulky… If you could join for so HEMA, or swimming…” Diana suggested.

“Not interested,” Lucina declined.

“We interrupt for a breaking evening news segnt: a fire broke out in the Lower District of Opportunity City at 11 pm tonight, spreading across three blocks. Over sixty people have been injured and more than a hundred have died…” The television in the living room played the evening news from Opportunity City, showing images sent back by reporters on scene, with flas still burning throughout the affected blocks, showing no signs of being extinguished.

“Damn… how many people did I kill?” Diana watched the TV, her expression gradually turning stern.

“It’s not your fault…” Chen Ke said.

“No, I don’t feel guilty, I just think… wow, that’s powerful.” Diana glanced at her hands and, with a thought, a ball of fire erged from her palm.

“Put it out! Put it out! This is my only piece of real estate!” Lucina jumped up with a cushion in hand.

“Calm down, I can control it,” Diana said, rotating her hands so the fire wrapped around her wrists.

“Is this what you were trying to give earlier?” Lucina suddenly looked towards Chen Ke.

“Yes, you turned it down,” Chen Ke stated.

“Eh… never mind, I think it’s better for to remain human,” Lucina tossed the cushion to Chen Ke.

Chen Ke placed the cushion on the sofa and sat across from Diana, asking, “Diana, may I ask you so questions?”

Diana spread her hands and replied, “Of course, what do you want to know? I’ll tell you everything.”

“After Yasla abducted you, what happened?” Chen Ke asked.

“Oh… at first, they wanted to know where the green Holy Diamond was, so I had to tell them… Chen Ke, their target is Lucina, not . After all, Lucina is your… hmm?” Diana looked at Lucina, unsure if the two were married.

“Girlfriend,” Chen Ke clarified.

“Oh, I see. They wanted to catch Lucina, so the first thing they asked that night was about my identity, and why I was in Lucina’s car. Damn, I went through a lot because of that question,” Diana shook her head.

“Did they know you’re an agent of the Administration Bureau?” Chen Ke asked again.

“I told them from the beginning because there wasn’t much point in hiding this identity. Announcing it even seed to have a certain deterrent effect, yet I found that they were not the least bit intimidated, instead they began to dig into the relationship between you and …” Diana said.

“By the way, how did you get to know Chen Ke?” Lucina asked at this mont.

“You’re asking the sa questions they did!” Diana couldn’t help but clap her hands.

“I said it in 2006, didn’t I?” Chen Ke smiled.

“I rember as well. Of course, I wouldn’t joke about this with Yasla. Regarding your matters, I only said that I was investigating you and that my interactions with you were just routine procedure, nothing more,” Diana said.

“What was their reaction?” Chen Ke asked.

“Of course, they didn’t believe it. After all, if I were just investigating you, you wouldn’t have lent your car. Yasla fixated on this question for several days, and they really had quite a bit of fun at my expense…” Diana said with a snort.

“I know it was hard, but you made it through. You shouldn’t have been treated that way,” Chen Ke said.

“I don’t need your apologies. You helped kill that bitch. In her last few days, she kept cutting with a knife in various ways, as if she wanted to find out my limits, or perhaps she knew as well that I wasn’t lying, that I was no help to them,” Diana said.

“Did they say anything to you?” Chen Ke asked.

“If you’re hoping that they would have shared so information with , then I’m sorry to disappoint you, Chen Ke. They were the ones interrogating . This isn’t a TV show; villains don’t spill their plans,” Diana spread her hands.

“Tsk… well, okay then,” Chen Ke looked down and sighed.

“Chen Ke, I’m not normal anymore. Can you… tell so things now? Where did you get the power you gave from? What exactly do I count as now?” Diana asked.

“I turned you into the one who was interrogating you, she was a witch too, but with different abilities,” Chen Ke said.

Diana didn’t speak, her eyes fixed on the coffee table as if digesting the recently received information.

“This power is from another witch. I killed her to save my own life,” Chen Ke said.

“Is that it?” Diana asked.

“Yes, that’s it. What else?” Chen Ke replied.

“I thought you might explain it at length like Wang Ailin,” Diana said.

“That’s not my style,” Chen Ke said.

“So what now? What are we supposed to do next?” Lucina interjected at this point.

“I want that green Holy Diamond. The leader of Yasla said it’s called a fragnt of the Divine Heart, and now the Administration Bureau has it,” Chen Ke said.

“Chen Ke, why do you want that thing too?” Diana asked.

“It’s my destiny. I’ve seen my future, and I must possess them…” Chen Ke said.

“That future… what’s it like?” Diana asked.

“Definitely not what you’d want. I don’t know what the use of that green diamond is but I definitely had it at that ti,” Chen Ke said.

“I really want to help you. If the Administration Bureau has that thing, I know where they’d keep it, but right now, as soon as I step into the CPA building, the Spiritual Energy scanners would start screaming,” Diana spread her hands.

“We can think of other ways. What about you, what are your plans now?” Chen Ke asked.

“I don’t know. Considering what happened to that bitch from Yasla, I think there’s no place for a witch in this world,” Diana said, spreading her hands again.

“I have a place where you can stay for the ti being,” Chen Ke said.

“Oh… it’s not that place we entered during our escape, is it?” Diana asked.

“That entire apartnt building is mine, the safest place in the whole universe,” Chen Ke assured.

“That sounds nice… and I indeed need a quiet place to get acquainted with this new body…” Diana smiled.
