Chapter 512: Chapter 512: Lucina’s Stress Relief thods

Chen Ke locked Slavin in a room on the fourth floor of the Illusion Dream Center apartnt and then went through the main door to Lucina’s house.

Slavin’s life was now in Chen Ke’s hands. He had beco the chairman of Si’s consortium and was also an agent of a mysterious organization infiltrated in the consortium, bound to be useful one day.

Hall was sound asleep on the sofa, while Lucina was nowhere to be found. Chen Ke took out his phone to call her, but it indicated that her phone was turned off.

“What the hell… this woman…” Chen Ke put his phone away, feeling sowhat anxious.

Chen Ke knew Lucina’s temper very well. It was likely that she had gone to seek revenge on the Si’s consortium alone. But it was already chaos over there, and Chen Ke had just co from there…

Chen Ke sighed. What he feared most was having a woman around who brought trouble—not that it was exactly trouble… Chen Ke just worried that Lucina might be in danger.

Reckless, irritable, bold, and willful—Lucina was such a woman. Chen Ke couldn’t even clearly say what he liked about her, given he had just joined as a postman and was interested in her.

“Why… why her…” Chen Ke muttered to himself.

“You just lust after her body.” At that mont, Hall suddenly spoke.

Chen Ke jumped in surprise and looked down to see Hall lying on the sofa like a corpse, staring at him with wide eyes.

“When did you wake up?” Chen Ke asked.

“A long ti ago. I never really fell asleep,” Hall replied.

“Do you know where Lucina went?” Chen Ke sat on the other end of the sofa.

“I don’t know. I saw her get up from the sofa, ask if my wound still hurt, I shook my head, and then she left,” Hall said.

“Didn’t you stop her?” Chen Ke spread his hands.

“Hey, Chen Ke, look at . Do I look like I could stop her?” Hall frowned.

“Hah…okay then.” Chen Ke shook his head and turned toward the door.

“Where are you going?” Hall called out to Chen Ke.

“I’m going out to look for her and bring her back,” Chen Ke replied.

“You won’t find her. I bet,” Hall sighed.

“Just stay here and don’t move. Whether or not I find her, I’ll co back. Do you have a phone?” Chen Ke asked.

“The 0 key is burned out, but it can still make calls,” Hall replied.

“Keep the line open,” Chen Ke said.

Hall nodded, and Chen Ke tossed two small bottles of painkillers onto Hall before turning and leaving.

At midnight, the early spring night air was still cold. The weather in the United Federation was not as pleasant as in Asia, with temperatures at night not even reaching 10 degrees.

He used instant teleportation from the Illusion Dream Center to the Golden Arthur Sword Hall, burned through the lock with An Helei’s Gray, exited out the large doors of the mall, and arrived on Raffi Road.

County Police were clearing up the aftermath. After a massive firefight, many body bags were carried out of the headquarters of Si’s consortium. The area below was surrounded by yellow police tape, and P.W.A.T vehicles encircled the vicinity.

Naturally, Chen Ke wouldn’t show up in front of them. He watched from a distance and saw forensics and County Police thodically moving body bags, not appearing as if they were under attack.

Lucina must not have co here.

“Since she’s not here…” Chen Ke raised an eyebrow, starting to think of the worst possibility.

Had she been taken by Yasla’s people? This thought made Chen Ke anxious. He had foreseen that future, although he had already interfered with the tiline, Chen Ke couldn’t be sure whether this matter would be rewritten.

Finding nothing here, Chen Ke turned and left. He lingered a mont on the street, then opened the door of a nearby café, which was a front for a fishery safe house.

Standing at the entrance and looking inside, everything seed unchanged from the last ti Chen Ke had disappeared from a chair, but there were no lights on and no one inside.

Lucina hadn’t returned to the safe house.

Chen Ke closed the café door, unable to think of anywhere else she could be. Reluctantly, he decided to return to Lucina’s house, hoping she might be there.

When Chen Ke got back, Hall was leaning on the sofa watching TV. His injury didn’t seem to be severe, at least Hall didn’t look listless.

“I told you, you wouldn’t find her,” Hall said as Chen Ke returned empty-handed, shaking his head.

The evening TV program was playing an erotic drama. Chen Ke picked up the remote control and changed the channel, lively music started playing—it was a nightti rerun of the SpongeBob SquarePants cartoon.

“Do you know why the chicken crossed the road?” SpongeBob asked.

“I don’t know,” Patrick Star answered.

“Because the chicken wanted to get to the other side,” SpongeBob said.

As SpongeBob and Patrick carried on their usual foolish banter on TV, Chen Ke sat on the sofa, his hands joined beneath his chin, elbows propped on his knees, falling into silence.

“Do you know why Lucina left?” Hall asked.

“I don’t know,” Chen Ke answered.

“Because Lucia didn’t want to stay in this house anymore,” Hall said.

Chen Ke looked at Hall, wanting to say sothing but hesitating.

“Chen Ke, she might be impulsive, but she’s not the coarse type. Lucina is more ticulous and sensitive than any other girl I know,” Hall said.

“It’s like you’re trying to suggest sothing to ,” Chen Ke said.

“Sotis she does things that are quite bold, but those actions don’t represent her true intentions—they’re ant to hint at sothing. How long have you been with her? Haven’t you noticed?” Hall said.

“It’s as if she never hinted at anything to ,” Chen Ke shook his head.

“That’s impossible. Lucina loves to give hints. And sotis, it makes the situation very awkward. You’re not paying enough attention to her,” Hall said.

“Alright, all I know is that she left now just to take revenge for her father. I understand her,” Chen Ke said.

“No, you don’t understand her. Lucina is impulsive, but she’s not stupid. She wouldn’t go and fight an entire consortium alone,” Hall said.

“Then why did she leave?” Chen Ke asked, puzzled.

“I told you, she just didn’t want to stay in this house. This is the old house where she lived with Hainerd and her mother. Think about it, here she lost her mother, and tonight, her father. This house is like a scar for her; she doesn’t want to stay here anymore,” Hall explained.

“Oh…” Chen Ke scratched the back of his head, realizing he hadn’t considered this at all; he had been too careless and inconsiderate of Lucina’s feelings.

“Chen Ke, Lucina has restrained herself a lot for you. I can see that. If it were before, we would have had a hard ti holding her back,” Hall said.

“If not for revenge, where would she be now?” Chen Ke asked.

“Everyone has their own way of relieving stress when they feel underestimated. For , it’s playing gas. And Lucina, you know, her muscles aren’t just for show,” Hall said.

“What do you an?” Chen Ke leaned in closer.

“You probably aren’t aware of the underground bare-knuckle fight network in Opportunity City—the bar on Pai Daxing and Raffi Road is their front. She also said that she wanted to go beat up a few people,” Hall said.

“She also… fights in bare-knuckle bouts? Do they allow won to compete there?” Chen Ke said.

“In that place, it doesn’t matter if you’re a man or a woman. Once you’re in the cage, you’re just a piece of muscle with two hands,” Hall said.

“Do you know which bar she’d go to?” Chen Ke got up, alard. He couldn’t let his woman be treated like a punching bag in a wire cage!

“Don’t rush… Those places don’t hold matches at night, usually it’s during the afternoon. I know which bar she’ll et at, but I don’t know where she is hiding right now, so what I an is, let’s rest tonight and check it out tomorrow,” Hall said.

“Are you okay with her being alone in that kind of place?” Chen Ke asked.

“There’s nothing to worry about; she’s skilled. You’ve been with her… heh heh, right?” Hall asked.

Chen Ke nodded.

“Then you should know what she’s capable of,” Hall said.

“Indeed… quite resilient… um, I got it, we’ll wait tonight…” Chen Ke shook his head and settled back on the sofa. Even with his seemingly endless stamina, he couldn’t wear Lucina down; she really was capable.

“Don’t worry, Chen Ke, our little sister is not just a pretty vase; she’s a beautiful barbell. Most people can’t handle her. If soone tries to force her, Lucina definitely won’t be the one at a disadvantage,” Hall said.

Chen Ke nodded, his anxiety slightly relieved.

Checking the ti, it was nearly 1 AM. Chen Ke longed for the sunrise; he had never missed Lucina more than he did at that mont.
