Chapter 480: Chapter 480: Ti Immigration

“Did you hear gunfire? Should we go check it out?”

Two agents stationed outside the illusion factory heard gunshots, and one of them beca alert.

“Maybe he’s just trying to speed up the process,” the other agent responded calmly.

“I think we should still go take a look,” insisted the first agent.

“Alright, alright, let’s see what new tricks he’s playing now.”

The two agents got out of their black SUV and walked towards the factory. Suddenly, the scenery around them changed. The image of the factory gradually faded, revealing its true setting: a forest at the intersection of Raffi Road and Holy Oak in Opportunity City, beside the highway.

“Is it over?” The agents witnessed the disappearance of the illusion without any suspicion.

“Bang!”

A gunshot rang out, and one agent’s head burst open. He scread as he fell to the ground, struggled for a mont, and then went still. The other agent quickly pulled out his Glock pistol, realizing the severity of the situation.

Lucina jumped out from behind a tree next to him. When the agent looked towards Lucina, all he saw was a fist getting closer and closer, and then he lost consciousness.

“So… tell , why are you looking for Chen Ke?”

Lucina toyed with a coin in her hand, observing the two agents chained to a stone pillar.

They were bound back to back like human punching bags, their faces swollen and deford from being beaten, mouths unable to close, and the ground was covered with their vomit. Brass knuckles, stained with the agents’ blood, adorned Lucina’s hands.

The coin was the physical manifestation of the “Imaginary Cage.” As long as one possessed it, they could easily imagine limited spaces and props, creating effects so realistic it was hard for anyone caught within to doubt their authenticity.

Lucina hadn’t spent much ti learning how to use it, but this gadget wasn’t a magical pocket like Doraemon’s; it created real experiences, though the environnts and props it conjured didn’t actually exist.

Moreover, the Imaginary Cage could only conjure items and environnts related to interrogation. Perhaps that’s why it was nad so.

“You stole our stuff… Did you really think the syndicate would just let it go?” the agent said.

“What’s so special about that green Holy Diamond?” Lucina asked.

“That’s none of our concern, we just need to know that the syndicate wants it back,” the agent replied.

“Are you sure you got the right person?” Lucina asked.

Chen Ke used the na Lin Mo when he was an assassin for the syndicate, and he shouldn’t have ntioned the na Chen Ke in front of any of the syndicate people.

“Hahaha… do you think the world stands still? Do you think side characters won’t act when the main character isn’t around? What kind of novels have you been reading?” the agent laughed.

Lucina frowned and delivered a hook to the agent’s abdon, producing a dull thud.

“Ugh… damn… you’ve burst my liver…” the agent moaned in pain, cursing.

Lucina moved around to interrogate the other agent, who was shivering.

“Hey… Miss Lucina… look, we’re just doing our jobs with no personal grudges against you, and the one who tortured you before is already dead… we haven’t laid a finger on you… you’re not really going to kill us, are you?” the agent was clearly the more timid.

“You blew up my house, killed a bunch of people working at the fishery, tried to harm my boyfriend, and tortured for over 16 hours. Guys, you hurt , and now you’re asking for rcy—don’t you think it’s a bit late?” Lucina asked, hands on her hips.

“We… we were just following orders, that’s all.”

“Damn, you’re too pathetic; to think you’re in this line of work!” the other agent could no longer hold back his anger.

“I’m not interested in your quarrel; tell , what do you all know, what are your next plans? Um… tell more about Chen Ke… and if you lie, I’ll pull out all your teeth!” Lucina turned a wrench into a pair of pliers in her right hand and slapped it lightly against the agent’s face.

12 hours earlier.

Diana stepped on the assassin’s chest, pulled out the Longsword which then morphed back into a small Holy Diamond. This was the fourth batch of assassins that had co to kill her today.

Every ti, there were more people than the last.

She walked out of the alley and looked at the street; it was the ti people got off work, and the streets were becoming crowded. However, no one knew about the fight that had taken place in the alley.

She followed the crowd for a while, and then her phone vibrated again.

“Diana, are you alright? When do you plan to return to Opportunity City? I can co to pick you up,” Steve’s voice ca from the other side.

“I’m heading to the airport now, Steve. Did you persuade the chairman?” Diana asked.

“Not yet, but I will do my best. If once isn’t enough, then I’ll try twice, okay? I am always there for you,” Steve said.

“Thank you, Steve. I’ll be back tonight,” Diana said.

“Good, call when you get to the airport. Let’s hang up now,” Steve said.

Diana also hung up the phone, removed the back cover, took out the sim card and battery, and smashed the phone on the ground.

“Why does a bunch of assassins appear every ti I hang up with you? Steve, you son of a bitch!” Diana cursed. She pocketed the sim card and turned toward the long-distance bus station.

She still rembered where Chen Ke lived, the building near that hospital. Maybe she could find a way to contact Sam for help; having a ranger lend a hand wasn’t a bad idea, assuming he hadn’t turned to ashes…

6 hours earlier.

“So, you understand now, Ms. Wang Ailin?” Lin Yaying said.

“I certainly do, hearing Chinese in the United Federation is quite heartening… You co from the year 2137, a special agent from the Human Connection Foundation?” Wang Ailin said as she put on a coat, holding a coffee cup, while Lin Yaying sat on a nearby chair, the two appearing amicable.

“Yes, I thought it would take a long ti to convince you that I am from the future, but it seems we can skip that and get straight to the point,” Lin Yaying said.

Wang Ailin sipped her coffee and nodded.

“In 2137, sothing strange happened in Antarctica. Starting from the South Pole, Earth began to disappear, and the area of disappearance kept expanding. No one knows why this is happening,” Lin Yaying said.

“Haven’t your research institutions reached any conclusions?” Wang Ailin asked curiously.

“No, we are your future, and whatever you can do, we can also do, and possibly do better, but even so, the situation in Antarctica is beyond anyone’s imagination,” Lin Yaying said.

“So, the foundation wants to travel through ti, gathering the most brilliant scientists from various eras of humanity to study the Antarctic issue, right? And also to look back at the past to see what caused the disappearance,” Wang Ailin said.

“To so extent, yes, but our plans are more radical,” Lin Yaying said.

“More radical?” Wang Ailin was puzzled.

“The efforts we have made in the future, the thods we have tried, are beyond your imagination, but the Antarctic event is an unsolvable disaster. Rather than wasting ti on it, it’s better to find another way out for humanity,” Lin Yaying said.

“You an…” Wang Ailin said.

“We want to move all of humanity from 2137 to your tiline,” Lin Yaying said.

“Wow… like… like migrants!” Wang Ailin exclaid, her eyes gleaming with admiration.

“Yes, ti migrants. Only in this way can we save all of humanity,” Lin Yaying said.

“Then why haven’t you acted imdiately? Shouldn’t you be sending more diplomatic teams to negotiate with our tiline’s United Nations?” Wang Ailin asked.

“Ms. Wang Ailin, traveling through ti isn’t as simple as you think, and if we can’t solve the Antarctic incident, then 2137 will be inevitably dood as the day of human extinction. Even if we all co to 2009, humanity will soday face the doomsday of 2137 again,” Lin Yaying said.

“So… what do you want to help you with?” Wang Ailin asked.

“We need to ensure the future of this tiline, steer clear of our 2137, and move towards a new future. Redirecting the course of ti requires many actions, and your intelligence is essential,” Lin Yaying said.

“Changing… the future…” Wang Ailin murmured to herself.

“I am not forcing you, but humanity doesn’t have much ti left, and there’s only one path left for us. Will you help us?” Lin Yaying asked.

Wang Ailin thought for a while, then raised her head and said, “Of course I am willing.”
