Chapter 209: Chapter 193: Bizarre Power

Rangers and their beast companions share a magical bond, one that transcends conventional magic and is part of their unique vocational abilities.

For instance, a ranger can summon their beast companion from a long distance using a special ritual without needing expertise in spatial magic, but this ritual can only be used to transport their own beast companions and nothing else.

Amberser didn’t know how far apart he was from Naomi, he just knew that they could sense each other’s presence.

Unfortunately, with the Dreamweave Barrier in place, Amberser couldn’t directly summon Naomi. He could only use this thod to let her know he had returned from the sea.

Amberser believed Katherine would find a way to contact him, as the Elf Queen was far more at liberty in this forest than he was.

What Amberser didn’t expect was for Naomi to arrive so quickly—it was only three hours since they sensed each other. As the sky began to darken, a small black cat slipped into Amberser’s room and jumped into his arms.

Amberser stroked the little black cat’s head and asked curiously, “Why turn into a small cat? Don’t you prefer the form of a black panther? Are you able to freely shapeshift in the forest?”

The Dreamweave Barrier had a very strong effect on outsiders; maintaining one form after shapeshifting was not a problem, but attempting to shift again would surely break the effect of the enchanted bracelet.

Naomi owed and then said, “I ran over here as a panther, but it’s more convenient to sneak in as a small cat. As for the barrier, they gave

this.”

Naomi flicked her tail, and Amberser then noticed an oak ring fitted on it.

“With this ring on, spells can be cast without being affected by the barrier.”

Indeed, not all guests were treated equally, and soone like Katherine, a true VIP, definitely wouldn’t receive the sa treatnt as Amberser.

“That’s great. It seems Katherine indeed got preferential treatnt. How are things now? How do you blend in with the druids? Have you learned how to transform into a giant dragon yet?”

What Amberser cared most about was this matter—if Naomi couldn’t transform into a Ti Dragon, then all bets were off. Harvey would be left with no other option but to await his fate.

Naomi shook her head and said, “Although I have learned a lot from these Druids, and my shapeshifting abilities have greatly improved from before, I suspect there will still be difficulties in transforming into a giant dragon.”

“Is it a matter of insufficient practice ti or lacking the necessary techniques?” Amberser asked.

Naomi explained, “Druidic shapeshifting is a kind of mimicry, so to shapeshift into a particular animal, one must have so level of understanding about that animal. I can beco a black panther because I have spent ti with a real one, and the sa goes for cats, as I’ve raised them before. Therefore, to transform into a dragon, I need to co into contact with a real giant dragon.”

Amberser replied, “I know that, but doesn’t the Erald Dream Forest have Grand Druids who can transform into giant dragons? My bringing you to the Erald Dream Forest was to find out how they manage to shapeshift into dragons. Perhaps they’re hiding dragon bones or scales, or maybe there’s sothing that allows them to co into contact with that and then use the power of nature to mimic a dragon’s form.”

Naomi said, “We did find out about that. The Grand Druids of the Erald Dream Forest who wish to transform into certain rare creatures undergo a special Dream Entering Ceremony, which simulates their encounters with these wild beasts in dreams. If done enough tis, they can master the respective transformation.”

“Dream Entering Ceremony? That’s a new secret to . Did Katherine uncover it?”

Naomi nodded and said, “Sister Katherine casually inquired about the Wilderness Form when chatting with those druids, and a young druid accidentally let it slip. The situation was quite awkward, and that young one was promptly given excuses and sent away.”

Amberser imagined the scene, picturing yet another unfortunate soul who was probably dazzled by Katherine’s charm.

“Katherine is sowhat useful after all, having learned to utilize her advantages,” Amberser said.

Naomi added, “But that also brought other troubles. Many druids beca infatuated with Sister Katherine after eting her. One even proposed marriage, saying he’d be willing to join the Silvermoon Tribunal and give up everything.”

Amberser said helplessly, “There’s no help for it; a double-edged sword is bound to cut the wielder. However, that proposal must be considered blasphemous—how could the Elf Queen possibly be proposed to so casually? Don’t those druids realize how disrespectful they are?”

“The one who proposed is a leader of one of the Druid Tribes, with a high status. He’s said to be the youngest Grand Druid in the past five hundred years and is also a mber of the council. Other Grand Druids are not his superiors, so it’s difficult for them to stop him.”

The title of Grand Druid elsewhere might be interpreted as a tribal leader, but in the Erald Dream Forest, it signifies a Legendary Rank, which is a basic requirent for joining the Druid Council.

It is quite normal for such a young and Legendary Druid to be sowhat arrogant. Youngsters like him tend to believe the world revolves around them, that they are the absolute protagonists. Such an impolite proposal might even seem romantic to them, worthy of going down in history as a great love story.

Amberser too once harbored such thoughts, as a transmigrant, but after many years of hardship in this other world, he had co to understand that without cheats, transmigrants were nothing. Having struggled for centuries to beco a lackluster Legendary, he belonged to that category in stories most likely to be taken down by soone underleveled.

“The Dream Entering Ceremony seems troubleso—there’s really no shortcut with the druids. Do we have to send you to the Dragon Tomb after all?”

Amberser frowned in thought, for this was the last resort he wished to use.

Although Miss Bone Dragon was a mber of the Elegy Poetry Society, the Dragon Tomb was not a place easily accessible.

After the Laine Empire expelled all the giant dragons, the Dragon Race beca extrely xenophobic, especially displaying a very poor attitude towards humans, amounting to an absolute vendetta. It would be difficult for Naomi, a human, to enter the dragons’ domain, let alone find a dragon to serve as a model; this was not sothing that could simply be resolved by calling in a favor, and he was unsure what the cost would be.

“Huh, wait, I think I have a dragon.”

Amberser recalled the dragon-transfigured brat he had captured earlier, that fellow was indeed a dragon. Although a counterfeit, he was truly a Chosen of the Dragon Race, blessed by the Evil Dragon Goddess.

However, without removing Geronimo’s seal, he was just a human, and allowing him to transform into a Giant Dragon after the seal was removed would turn him into an uncontrollable monster, who might even swallow Naomi whole.

Amberser certainly didn’t have the capability to securely confine this Magic Resistance maxed out Giant Dragon.

After thinking it through, it seed he still had to figure sothing out from these Druids. Could he pay to experience that Dream Entering Ceremony?

“You go back first, discuss it with Katherine, and keep inquiring about information from the Druids. If possible, have her try to facilitate a trilateral eting.”

If Katherine were on his side at the negotiation table, it would be much simpler to coax the Druids.

After receiving Amberser’s instructions, Naomi once again jumped out of the window, perfectly blending into the night.

Amberser wasn’t worried about her being detected at all, because the lass shared his strength. Perhaps lacking in skill, but her rank was also Legendary, and for a Legendary Druid, hiding oneself in the forest was all too easy.

While contemplating how to deal with the problem of the Dream Entering Ceremony, Amberser suddenly sensed a familiar feeling coming from below.

It was that dark presence again, which should have been overshadowed by the powerful forces of nature, but at night, it seed to beco more active, and a particular fluctuation just now gave Amberser a sense of awareness.

Amberser once again confird that this entity was not an Undead, but rather another kind of evil being.

Amberser, stroking his own chin, started to ponder exactly what this thing might be.

But he guessed it was due to reading too few books; he couldn’t find any match for all sorts of evil from his mory.

However, in just a mont, Amberser felt this dark power becoming more and more active, and it seed to be heading straight for him.

“You’ve got to be kidding , why is it targeting ?! Crap, this force has discovered my Lich identity!”

Amberser quickly ca to a conclusion; no matter how good his disguise was, he couldn’t change the nature of the magic within him. This strange power was attracted to Amberser’s Dark Magic Power and seed to be charging towards him.

He couldn’t cast spells, or it would break the protective effect, and then he would fall asleep.

But without casting spells, if he were caught by this force, then the outco was unimaginable.

Having his identity exposed was the least of his concerns; Amberser was more worried about the possible impact this power could have on him.

In this ergency, Amberser imdiately left his room and headed towards the largest house in this basin, where the clan elder lived. No matter what this dark power was, since it had always been concealed, it either feared exposure or was suppressed by the Druids.

Regardless of the reason, it was definitely right to stick with the Druids.

Amberser arrived at the stone house and without hesitation, started knocking on the door forcefully.

The thumping sound traveled far in the night, even startling a few birds deep in slumber.

Shortly after, Saress opened the door with a furious expression, and asked in a deep voice, “You better have sothing important knocking at my door this late at night!”

Seeing his reddened face, disheveled clothes, and profuse sweating, Amberser was sowhat surprised. Such vitality at his age, the Druids’ natural magic sure was powerful.

No wonder he had that expression; anyone’s mood would be soured by this.

After carefully sensing, Amberser confird that after Saress appeared, that restless dark power vanished, as if it had gone back into hiding underground again.

The crisis was averted, but Amberser couldn’t just go back; what if that dark power ca seeking him again?

Tonight, he had to impose upon this elder.

Amberser thought for a mont and said to Saress, “I want to inquire about the na of a Druid, her na is Alina Sunda, have you heard of her?”

With a curious tone, Saress replied, “Alina Sunda? That na sounds very familiar, wait a minute, that’s the na of one of my ancestors, how do you know it?”

Amberser: …

Could it really be such a coincidence?
