Looking at the head that had been stained with fresh blood, twisted in a fearso grimace, the Judge was startled.
Upon closer examination, he discovered that it was, in fact, the head of a Qilin, which filled his heart with a sudden shock.
This Qilin, a Divine Beast as famous as the dragon and phoenix, possessed infinite mana from birth; it was always synonymous with strength, yet now only its massive head remained.
This Judge, of re mortal origin, had always revered such mythical creatures from the legends and never imagined he would witness such a scene.
"From now on, all karmic ties between him and are severed!" The voice of City God Zi Chu ca softly, carrying a hint of Sword Qi.
The man in black, satisfied, looked over the terrifying head with approval, showing a hint of contentnt on his face. Even though the other party had died, the formidable power lingering around the head still sent shivers down one’s spine.
Of course, what was even more astonishing was that the smooth cut still radiated astonishing Sword Qi, which still made one’s scalp tingle even now.
"Hehe, I knew that since you inherited his Sword Dao, killing the Water Monarch wouldn’t be difficult for you. We will honor our agreent; from this day forward, you and he are free from karmic entanglents."
The man in black seed to speak these words with mixed emotions. Afterwards, his figure slowly disappeared into the shadows, as if he had never appeared.
Amidst the Judge’s shocked gaze, boundless darkness flowed like water, covering the head of the Water Monarch. In a short ti, the fierce and terrifying Qilin’s head could no longer be found on the ground, not even a drop of blood remained.
"What kind of Divine Skills are these!" The Judge felt that everything he had seen and heard today overturned his understanding of the world. Those mythical creatures, which had only existed in legends, were taking the stage one after the other, as if heralding the beginning of an era of upheaval.
Looking up, he saw only his superior gently tossing the City God Seal towards the temple.
"My lord, what are you doing?" the Judge asked in shock and dismay.
"Haha, now that the karmic ties are severed, the sky’s the limit for freedom!" Zi Chu laughed heartily upon hearing this. Without waiting for the Judge’s pleas, he transford into a rainbow and instantly vanished from the Judge’s sight.
The Judge was left sighing lightly in place. He should have realized that with his lord’s strength, there was nowhere in the Three Realms he couldn’t go; why should he confine himself to the position of a City God.
Ding Xiao looked at the long rainbow spanning the sky and a smile appeared on his lips as he spoke, "The Kunlun Sword Immortal has finally broken free from his shackles!"
"Husband, with such formidable strength, why would this Sword Immortal choose to be an unknown City God in this small city?" Lady Wu asked in bewildernt.
But Ding Xiao laughed, "Not many people in the Three Realms can answer your question, yet I happen to be one of them."
Lady Wu imdiately showed a curious expression, her beautiful eyes fixed on her husband, her face beaming with a radiant smile.
"Kunlun Sword Immortal Zi Chu is extraordinarily powerful; with an Immortal Sword, he has defeated countless masters in the Three Realms, but his lineage has always been shrouded in mystery. People say he received the inheritance of a reclusive Sword Cultivator from Mount Kunlun, and thus mastered peerless Sword Dao."
"However, the identity of this mysterious Sword Cultivator remains unknown to all. But I happen to know that the preeminent figure, before becoming divine, was a Sword Cultivator, and his inheritance is indeed on Mount Kunlun!" Ding Xiao pointed at the sky as he said this.
"Are you saying that the Sword Immortal is actually a disciple of the Jade Emperor?" Lady Wu said, sowhat shocked. She had never considered this possibility.
No wonder Sword Immortal Zi Chu claims that fate has been squared away; this favor of imparting teachings indeed is hard to repay.
"Does that an His Majesty is also a master of the Sword Dao?" Lady Wu suddenly thought, after all, the Jade Emperor has been out of the public eye for so long that there are hardly any records of him acting personally. As a result, few in the Three Realms now know what his actual strength is or what he specializes in.
"Of course, when His Majesty first ca down the mountain, the commotion was trendous. Many a master fell beneath his sword; he was truly unrivaled!" Ding Xiao said with a hint of sigh.
But in his mind, a vision flashed of a dazzling streak of Sword Qi that spanned the skies, so incredibly brilliant and terrifying.
He looked up at the sky and said with a smile, "Perhaps you’ll soon be able to see that brilliant strike."
Following his gaze toward the Nine Heavens above, the battle had escalated to a frenzied pitch. Since the establishnt of the Heavenly Court, there had never been such chaos, with battles erupting everywhere.
Even now, those engaged in battle would occasionally look up, for the outco above affected everyone deeply.
The combatants there were the Jade Emperor and Great Emperor Gouchen, the two most powerful beings in the Heavenly Court. At that mont, an awe-inspiring fight was unfolding between them.
White clouds obscured their figures, but the intermittent sounds of their struggle sent shivers through all onlookers.
"Where is the Treasure Ship? If not now, then when?" soone cried out, calling for the Treasure Ship to take action.
Before their eyes, countless Treasure Ships slowly entered the Heavenly Court, their dark cannon muzzles uniformly trained on the sky.
Seeing this, all immortals of the Heavenly Court showed joyful grins, as these fearso weapons had finally been deployed. Just one hit on Great Emperor Gouchen, and the outco of this battle could be decided.
Dazzling light erged from the cannons, carrying a force that was profoundly intimidating, with aweso power gathering incessantly.
A colossal roar resonated across the sky; thousands of cannons fired at once, and the formidable power made both sides of the conflict halt and gaze in astonishnt above.
However, to everyone’s shock, the cannons were not aid at Gouchen, but instead at the Jade Emperor on the opposite side.
"What is happening!" All were stunned by this sight, as no one had expected the Treasure Ship’s cannons to target the Jade Emperor, especially since these were ships of the Celestial River Navy, and Yin Qi was the Jade Emperor’s confidant.
"Yin Qi, you traitor!" soone shouted loudly. By this point, even a fool could see that Yin Qi, the Jade Emperor’s most trusted Marshal Tianpeng, had switched sides in the midst of battle, aiming the cannons at his own benefactor.
The immortals on Gouchen’s side were beside themselves with joy, as no one could have anticipated Yin Qi’s betrayal, especially since his position as Marshal Tianpeng was secured by the Jade Emperor, who had insisted against all opposition.
Yet, such a trusted and beloved general had turned coat. The turn of events gave everyone a surreal feeling, as if in a dream.
Everyone shifted their gaze upwards, eager to know whether, with the help of this cannon fire, Great Emperor Gouchen could defeat the Jade Emperor and beco the new Lord of the Three Realms.
In that mont, the air itself seed to stand still.
Beneath, countless people were anxiously hoping; never before had Yin Qi felt such tension. He was desperate to see the Jade Emperor fall from the sky because only then could he continue to live. Otherwise, his end would be unspeakably tragic.
