"We won?" Xing Wu asked with a smile.
"We won, that bastard Black Robe has vanished into thin air," Little Feng affird confidently.
With the young man’s confident response, a smile finally appeared on Xing Wu’s lips. He tilted his head upwards, gazing at the sky—the mottled sunlight casting an exceptionally serene look upon his face.
"Father, I have avenged you!" This burly man, now tear-streaked like a child, had finally avenged the deep-seated hatred for his father.
If his father had not been injured, he might very well have been a figure who commanded respect and fear, according to his teacher’s evaluation.
It was only then that he realized that his father, who he had always thought weak, had such a glorious past, and could have been one of those ruling over the Demon Clan.
But in order to protect the treasures of the Demon Court, for ideals and beliefs close to his heart, he chose to live incognito, gritting his teeth and persevering.
Black Robe had ruined his father’s life, and ever since Xing Wu learned of all this, the flas of revenge had never extinguished.
Now that his great revenge had been exacted, Xing Wu felt as if a weight had been lifted off his shoulders, as if he had shed a heavy shackle.
Under the blue sky dotted with white clouds, in the golden sunlight, Xing Wu seed to see his father’s kind face, almost as if nodding to him with a face full of joy.
"Father!"
Xing Wu, a burly man, began to sob uncontrollably, crying his heart out as if to release all his sorrow, frustration, longing, and reluctance.
Little Feng sat quietly beside him, waiting for him to finish venting.
He suddenly felt sowhat envious of Xing Wu—at least his father had been by his side as he grew up, while his own father had died long ago.
In his childhood mories, his father always managed to comfort him with the brightest smiles, which were the happiest monts of his life.
In a luxurious mansion near the Northern Sea in Luzhou in the North, the Green Flood Dragon was comfortably sitting in his own small courtyard, watching his great-grandchildren play and tussle.
At this mont, his face bore a kind smile, hard to associate with the Clan Leader of the affluent Green Flood Dragon clan.
Since the day he witnessed the Demon Emperor’s downfall, although partly in disbelief, he felt a sense of relief.
Everything in Luzhou in the North would settle down with the fall of the Demon Emperor, and he would no longer have to live in fear and trepidation.
After enduring those tornts, he cherished the present tis imnsely, taking joy in seeing his children and grandchildren enjoying family happiness—this was his greatest fulfillnt now.
The family business, he had gradually handed over to his two sons. As for the youngest son who had gone far to Dongsheng Shenzhou, he had no plans to call him back.
Having lived for many years in the Three Realms, he keenly sensed the undercurrents stirring. He did not know from where and when the fierce storm would start, but being naturally cautious, he was still unwilling to give up this escape route, as after all, one should not put all their eggs in one basket.
Just then, a crisp sound reached his ears, and the Green Flood Dragon’s expression abruptly turned grave; he slowly pulled out a Jade Pendant from his bosom.
It was full of cracks.
He couldn’t help but sigh lightly, for he knew Black Robe was dead.
This Jade Pendant he and Black Robe each had held one; in case of an accident, the other’s Jade Pendant would shatter as a warning.
Now that the Jade Pendant was shattered, it ant bad luck for Black Robe.
Though Green Flood Dragon had never liked Black Robe much, disliking his cruelty and thirst for killing.
Yet because they were both betrayers of the Demon Court, under the pressure to survive, the two had no choice but to band together, which eventually led to a profound friendship.
But now his old friend was probably no longer in this world. Who could have possibly targeted him? With the Demon Emperor gone and under the oppression of Heavenly Court, who would dare to cause trouble?
However, he quickly realized sothing and promptly called in his subordinate, raising his voice.
"Go and find out for how long it has been since the Celestial River Navy last ca to Luzhou in the North," said Green Flood Dragon in a deep voice.
In his mory, the patrols by the Celestial River Naval Forces were scheduled regularly, and every so often, the terrifying Treasure Ship would flash across the skies of Luzhou in the North, just to remind the mbers of the Demon Clan that the majesty of the Heavenly Court was not to be violated.
However, recently, he had not seen any sign of the Treasure Ship.
Shortly thereafter, a subordinate hurried over and reported the findings, imdiately causing Green Flood Dragon’s expression to change because the news from the Heavenly Court was that an entire fleet of Treasure Ships had vanished without a trace.
None of the Heavenly Soldiers and Generals on board had survived.
This news stunned Green Flood Dragon; he had personally witnessed the power of the Treasure Ships, and even the Demon Emperor, facing countless such ships, had to temporarily avoid their edge. He couldn’t imagine who in Luzhou in the North could accomplish such a feat.
No wonder there had been no sightings of the Celestial River Naval Forces for such a long ti. With such a master hidden in the dark, they dared not send more fleets over without absolute certainty.
Thinking of this, Green Flood Dragon’s face turned extrely grim.
He always felt that the disappearance of the Treasure Ship might be sohow linked to the death of Black Robe.
It seed as if an invisible giant hand was reaching towards him, casting a thick shadow over his heart.
Watching the playful and rowdy children, he couldn’t help but deeply sigh, hoping only that these children could grow up healthy.
"I need you to investigate sothing for ," Green Flood Dragon called a subordinate over and whispered a few instructions.
"Rember, alive I need to see the person, dead I need to see the body."
"Master, rest assured, it won’t take more than three days, and I will bring the news back," the subordinate assured, beating his chest, and soon his figure disappeared from Green Flood Dragon’s sight.
anwhile, in a small town of the Demon Clan, two uninvited guests arrived. One was a burly man carrying a Giant Axe on his back, clearly not soone to provoke.
The other was a young man, handso and dignified with an authoritative aura, especially the purple-glowing crescent on his forehead adding a mystical air.
The newcors were none other than Xing Wu and Little Feng who had killed Black Robe.
After so ti to recuperate, they set out on their journey, hurrying along the way, not daring to delay, and finally arrived at the town today.
"Is the person in this place?" Xing Wu asked curiously.
He looked around; the small town seed very ordinary, surrounded by dense woods, and the buildings were unremarkable. He couldn’t understand why those two masters would choose to stay here.
"It should be right, when we departed, White Dragon said it was this place. Let’s go in and have a look," Little Feng also seed sowhat uncertain.
The two slowly stepped into the town, where a group of naughty children ca running over, curiously sizing up the two uninvited guests.
Little Feng quickly noticed that these children were different from those in other parts of Luzhou in the North.
These children had a glint of wisdom in their eyes; their looks were only curious, devoid of fear and unease.
"Who are you?" one child asked with a smile.
"We are just two travelers, here to find two elders," Little Feng answered with a smile. His handso features and extraordinary deanor made it easy to get others’ goodwill, so he often took the lead in such interactions when they were abroad.
"Elders, you want to find soone? I know everyone," the child said with sudden confidence, patting his chest.
Seeing this confident child, Little Feng’s face showed a hint of a smile. Indeed, no matter the race, children can always evoke people’s kindness.
"I’m looking for a man and a woman, both very good-looking. The man is nad Lin Fang, and the woman is nad Feng Jiu. Do you know them?" Little Feng asked with a friendly smile.
"So you are looking for Mr. Lin. Of course, we know them," the child replied cheerfully.
