"So they actually dare to strut in the Demon Capital?" soone asked, laughing and shaking their head.
Nowadays, due to the news of the Demon Emperor’s revival, a large number of the once die-hard loyalists from the Demon Court had gathered. Speaking such words in the Demon Capital was akin to asking for trouble.
However, when they thought about the influences of the Dragon Palace and the Heavenly Court behind him, everyone was greatly alard. This unwise act seed like an attempt to provoke those fiercely loyal subordinates of the Demon Emperor.
Yet looking at the performance of that young lord, it seed he was truly an idiot, completely unaware of the sches behind him.
"A scapegoat!" This thought flashed across many minds as they cast pitying glances at the wealthy lord.
If their speculations were correct, this man’s life and death were not even considered in the calculations of those behind him.
And the mysterious young man who could utter such words was very likely one of the Demon Emperor’s subordinates’ descendants.
Many were curiously watching him, waiting for further developnts for if it indeed was a trap, the fate of the mysterious young man was predictable.
As expected, just as people were harboring doubts, an old man slowly erged from the crowd, looking at the young man and smiling, "Young fellow, the Old Flood Dragon is not soone a child like you should address; you better call your elder."
The old man looked very old, dressed in a simple blue robe with no accessories, wearing a pair of sowhat worn-out cloth shoes. His silver hair was secured with an ebony hairpin, and a pair of majestic and spirited dragon horns adorned his head.
"Ancestor!" The beaten lord who had collapsed on the ground cried out in joy at the sight of the elder.
"This is the Clan Leader of the Green Flood Dragon Clan." Everyone shot peculiar glances his way.
This was a notorious traitor to the Demon Clan. When the Demon Court was destroyed, he had contributed significantly to that, and it was said that he had been assassinated many tis due to this; even his aging face was the aftermath of one such assassination attempt.
Otherwise, with the lifespan of a Flood Dragon, he would not appear so aged.
"I never thought this disturbance would arouse him," soone murmured.
"It makes sense, he is the person the Demon Court wanted to eliminate imdiately. If the Demon Emperor returns and the Demon Court is re-established, likely, he will be the first to be sacrificed. No wonder he’s in such a rush,"
People looked on with schadenfreude, as for the Demon Clan, the ti of the Demon Court had always been their most nostalgic era, and the man before them was one of the chief culprits of its destruction; probably, no one was inclined to show him any favor.
"Are you the Old Qing Jiao?" the young man scrutinized the elder up and down.
"I heard from my father that you used to be a mighty and gallant warrior leading the charge; I never expected you would end up looking like this," the young man said sowhat uncertainly.
It seed to connect the seemingly weak monster before him with that powerful and shaful traitor he knew.
The young man’s words seed to stir so dust-sealed mories in the elder. A hint of nostalgia flashed in his eyes.
Those were such glorious tis; it seed there was no need to worry about anything else, just follow the figure ahead and charge forward.
There was a ti when he, too, was that blood-bathed, fearless warrior, sadly one step astray ant a world of difference, and now he barely recognized himself.
He looked at the boy’s slightly youthful face and spoke with a hint of nostalgia, "You must be Howling Moon’s son, all of your clan have that distinct mark on their foreheads."
"Back then, he was just a naive youngster stepping into the world. I never imagined that in the blink of an eye, his child would grow so much."
The Green Flood Dragon spoke very sentintally. The mysterious youth’s eyes and brows resembled his father’s dearly. That lad back then was also proud yet full of vitality, always following behind him, asking questions about everything.
"Shut up, you have no right to ntion my father’s na. If it weren’t for you, he wouldn’t have been gravely injured, nor would he have died so prematurely," the boy roared angrily, his eyes filled with fiery hatred.
"So he’s already dead!" Old Qing Jiao sighed.
Had that proud young man also passed away? It was the first ti the old man truly felt the passage of ti.
"You’re still young. Leave this place. I don’t want to kill you. Don’t get involved in this dispute any further. Leave Howling Moon’s bloodline behind," Old Qing Jiao waved his hand lightly, a fierce wind arose, and the boy’s body was involuntarily blown away, soon disappearing in the crowd.
"Old fellow, it seems over the years, your heart has softened sowhat," soone remarked.
However, a voice suddenly erged, and a man clad in black armor, holding the boy, approached from not far away, his tone teasing.
"It’s you!" Old Qing Jiao said, his tone filled with surprise.
"Yes, it’s ." He dropped the boy on the ground, ignoring his hateful eyes.
"Since you did it, then don’t be such a hypocrite, or else you’ll beco what the Human Clan says, ’playing the whore while setting up the shrine,’ only making yourself a laughing stock," the man said scornfully.
"Heisha, I am still different from you."
"Forget it, we are both traitors, what’s different? Besides, my dissent with the Demon Court is well known. No one says anything about my betrayal. It’s not like you, an official of the Demon Court, in charge of the treasury, who also ended up betraying. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have tried to assassinate you," Heisha laughed heartily, bluntly tearing open Old Qing Jiao’s old wounds.
"You, with so many years gone by, your mouth is still as foul as ever."
"I may be foul-mouthed, but I’m not stupid. If you do sothing, do it thoroughly. With that in mind, why keep this remnant alive to potentially ally with those guys against us? Don’t forget, we are getting older, but they are still young," Heisha said harshly, gripping the boy’s throat lightly.
"If you want to kill , then as Heisha, today I tell you, whoever dares to ss with , this guy will face the consequences," he said as he began to apply force with his wrist.
The boy’s cheeks instantly began to turn color, the imnse strength making it difficult for him to breathe, his face becoming flushed with congestion.
Despite struggling ceaselessly, Heisha’s power was too great, making it impossible for the boy to break free.
Yet after a long while, no one in the surroundings took action. Heisha laughed and said, "What a bunch of cowards, too scared to take a stand. Today I’ll kill this runt first, then I’ll find trouble with you later."
He was about to end the young boy’s life.
"Sigh! It’s just a child, why be so ruthless," a sigh rose from the crowd, and a handso young man erged, leading a little girl by the hand.
The little girl was busy enjoying so food, seemingly not realizing she and the others had beco the focus of everyone.
