The acrid sll of burning, the cold air, the sky shrouded in red.

Dead trees, their dry, twisted branches weakly stretching out as if soone had once hung from them.

At the foot of Beichuan Si was pale yellow, loosely clumped, dry cracked soil, and not far ahead lay the burnt remains of puppet-making workshops.

This space around him was devoid of anything, roughly one or two thousand square ters in size, and beyond that, nothing could be seen.

Everything around seed to be obscured by the rolling cruel red sky.

"This vengeful spirit actually has such special abilities," Beichuan Si muttered, clutching a hamr and not hurrying into the puppet-making workshop; he surveyed the area to get a grasp of his surroundings.

In this wide world, nothing was strange.

The vengeful spirit hidden in this abandoned puppet factory had intelligence and had even created this space.

But Beichuan Si knew as well that the combat ability of this spirit couldn’t be particularly strong.

If its combat ability had been strong, it wouldn’t have bothered with such tricks and would have simply confronted Beichuan Si directly.

After searching the area to no avail, Beichuan Si no longer hesitated and walked towards the workshop’s large door.

Different from the blood-red sky outside, this workshop seed to devour all light, pitch dark inside, impossible to see even one’s hand.

Beichuan Si took out his flashlight, turned it on, and began scanning the surrounding environnt.

This puppet workshop was connected to another one, surrounded by machines sparkling with a crystal gloss.

On the other side of the machines, many half-assembled puppets hung.

It was as if in this workshop, people had been tirelessly working up until now.

Wait a minute... assembled puppets?

On that workbench where the puppets were assembled, polishing and grinding tools were still left.

But aside from those, there seed to be a paper docunt as well.

Beichuan Si walked over and picked it up.

It was an old financial statent with unwilling bloody handprints on it.

Upon seeing the title of the statent, Beichuan Si’s eyes flickered montarily as he murmured, "I see."

Indeed, if such a thing had happened, the Sanmu Puppet Factory would have inevitably folded even without soone setting it on fire.

Beichuan Si’s speculation was increasingly confird.

But he hadn’t noticed sothing.

Above this workbench—

On the ceiling of the entire production workshop, puppets quietly lying there seed to have slightly moved.

First, their wrists twisted, followed by their necks shaking, and their tightly closed eyelids also seed to lift.

Then—

An icy aura of death intertwined with a bluish fla rose, clinging to the puppets’ bodies, burning even more intensely as if they encountered gasoline.

Oddly enough, although the bluish fla was scorching, the puppet surfaces showed no burn marks.

But even so, the screams, sharp and miserable like those of children, still tore through the workshop’s deep silence.

"The combination of stagnated fire and the aura of death," Beichuan Si blinked and drew back his hand.

Stagnated fire was a fla in Shenzhu Shrine that used souls as fuel, while the aura of death would gradually erode and cling to the resentful spirits hiding in the puppets, combining for a potent effect.

"But aside from these—" Beichuan Si’s eyes hardened, and he swung his large hamr with all his might at the empty air in front of him.

"Roar!!!!"

A strange, eerie cry ca from the air, and Beichuan Si felt as though he had hit sothing, the wooden handle of the hamr bending to its limits.

Then—

The sensation of hitting sothing disappeared, and beneath Beichuan Si’s eyes wrapped in the aura of death, a dark, resentful transparent figure sprinted towards another workshop.

Half of its body seed deford from Beichuan Si’s hamr blow, but it moved exceptionally fast.

Seemingly sensing Beichuan Si’s gaze, the contorted figure sped up and disappeared directly into the next workshop.

Beichuan Si snorted coldly, his deanor cold as a grim executioner, and began to envelop everything around in blazing flas with stagnated fire.

For a mont, ghosts wailed and wolves howled, countless lower-level spirits stained with stagnated fire, their spiritual bodies burned away and shattered.

The large hamr in his hand rcilessly fell, smashing nurous puppet spirits that had not yet fully perished.

Towards the end, the puppet spirits began to scatter in fear upon seeing him, like mice upon seeing a cat.

"Run, run, let’s see where you can go," Beichuan Si licked his lips, his face invigorated, and a sinister cold smile seed to curl on his expressionless face.

He had scouted the surroundings earlier because he had anticipated such events.

This space was only about one or two thousand square ters; the puppets couldn’t run far.

These spirits, having caused who knows how many deaths while hiding here, were now caught by him and were inevitably being hamred into oblivion.

Nishijou Kurenai, clinging onto Beichuan Si’s collar, also appropriately revealed a sinister cold smile.

The pair, like the most terrifying vengeful spirits, emitted a chilling bloodlust step by step towards the next workshop—

At Beichuan Si’s waist, the Shinra Bell still jingled, unclear whether it was alerting Beichuan Si to the presence of spirits around him or warning the spirits of Beichuan Si’s presence...

...

After burning everything through in the previous workshop with stagnated fire, Beichuan Si moved onto the next puppet-making workshop.
