Shenzhu Village remained the sa, unchanged by the visit to Beichuan Si.

It was rather Magong Tong beside him.

She looked around curiously at the scenery that was both unfamiliar and familiar.

Just as she was observing, the voice of Beichuan Si suddenly sounded in her ears.

"How is it?"

"Eh?" Magong Tong turned her head.

"What I an is, looking at these scenes, can you rember anything?"

"I don’t know... but I am very familiar with the things here, it’s strange." Magong Tong touched her head, not quite understanding, and as she looked again, her voice involuntarily slipped out, "It feels like I’ve lived here... like I lived here for a long ti."

There was a nostalgic, yet sowhat bewildered expression on her face, as if she couldn’t comprehend why she felt this way.

Beichuan Si silently observed her reaction and after a long while, turned his head to speak to the air beside him, "She said so."

"I know." The unmanifested Magong Yongshi sighed, looking at Magong Tong’s familiar face and tone of voice, and said with certainty, "But even so, she is Tong, I couldn’t possibly forget her face."

"Why are you so sure?"

Could it be that this Magong Tong is not that Magong Tong? Maybe it’s only because she resembles the Tong in the residual image due to family bloodline?

Why was Magong Yongshi so certain?

Magong Yongshi calmly replied, "It’s a sisterly intuition."

Sisters?

Beichuan Si had never heard that Magong Tong had an older or younger sister in her family...

Beichuan Si imdiately turned back and asked, "Magong, do you have a sister?"

"I’ve always been an only child at ho." Magong Tong rubbed her head, "But I know my birth record is in Shimadu City, yet I have no impression of Shimadu City."

"That’s what she said," Beichuan Si turned back and spoke again.

His behavior of talking to the air made Magong Tong step back twice, her large eyes incessantly looking towards Beichuan Si.

Magong Tong knew that Beichuan Si had the ability to see spiritual bodies; he must be talking to that spirit now, right?

"Are you saying you and she are sisters?"

Beichuan Si ignored Magong Tong’s reaction.

He didn’t quite understand the sowhat far-fetched remarks of Magong Yongshi.

But if he considered the possibility that Magong Tong and Magong Yongshi were sisters, it did hold so plausibility.

Beichuan Si pondered for a while and took out his notebook, flipping to a page.

There was a record on it about the Soul Guiding Ceremony.

’Magong family will give birth to twins every certain period, both female, known as the ’Soul-Anchoring’ twins. The twins should hold the Soul Guiding Ceremony at the Magong Main Family to enhance spiritual sensitivity.’

’The eldest daughter is raised by the Shenzhu Shrine from childhood under the Shenzhu surna, while the younger daughter takes the Magong surna and is raised by the Magong Main Family, without transgression.’

Looking over this, it indeed seed possible that Magong Tong and Magong Yongshi might be twin sisters.

According to the Soul Summoning Ceremony and the previous story of the shrine maiden told by the residue of Magong Yongshi, it was even possible that Magong Tong’s mother, Magong Xing, had given birth to triplets.

Beichuan Si tightly clenched the strands of hair that hung before his forehead.

Let’s make such an assumption.

Magong Tong’s mother, Magong Xing, gave birth to three children. The eldest daughter was adopted by the Shenzhu Family, and the second daughter, Magong Yongshi, was adopted by the Magong Family.

The Magong Main Family either concealed this fact or fabricated an excuse, leaving only the youngest daughter, Magong Tong, with Magong Xing.

Given the influence of the Magong Main Family in Shimadu City, achieving this in silence posed no problem at all.

"Later, for so reason, Magong Xing fostered Magong Tong with Magong Dongzi, here in Shenzhu Village, and after that, for so reasons, Magong Tong lost her mories of Shenzhu Village."

Combining the clues gathered before, this inference might indeed be valuable.

After all, it was quite normal for the Magong Main Family to do these things for the whole village.

Moreover, the Magong Main Family seed to have quite a few connections in Shimadu City...

Beichuan Si wrote these thoughts down in his notebook.

At this mont, the faint voice of Magong Tong sounded.

"Beichuan, have you finished communicating with Ghost?"

"It’s finished."

Beichuan Si put away his pen and greeted.

"It’s finished, Miss Yongshi, you don’t have to hide anymore. Let Magong see you; maybe she could recall sothing."

As his words fell, Magong Tong imdiately saw a girl dressed in a traditional long-sleeved kimono, her eyes corner marked with teardrops, appearing gentle as water, in front of her.

Magong Yongshi stood calmly in front of Magong Tong.

There was no excitent of a long-awaited reunion, nor a recognition scene that brought tears.

Magong Yongshi just looked gently at Magong Tong, the softness in her eyes unchanged even through nine years.

Feeling the tenderness in the other’s eyes, Magong Tong, uncharacteristically unafraid, looked with her delicate large eyes at the girl who resembled her by three or four parts.

A sense of indescribable familiarity surged, and Magong Tong swallowed before she couldn’t help but ask, "Miss Ghost, have we t sowhere before?"

Hearing this, Magong Yongshi’s eyes dimd involuntarily.

The saddest thing in this world is not the failure to recognize each other, but that when you stand in front of , you no longer know who I am.

But quickly, Magong Yongshi composed herself and turned to look at Beichuan Si:

"Mr. Temple, I would like to spend so ti alone with Tong. You’re probably going to the Shrine directly next, right?"

"Yes, I plan to explore up the hill first, to figure out exactly what the situation with the Shenzhu Shrine is, then I’ll take Magong there," Beichuan Si nodded.

That was the safest approach.

Then, Beichuan Si laid out his plan, "I will probably co down from the mountain around six o’clock. If I haven’t finished exploring, I’ll stay overnight in Shenzhu Village and go up the mountain again the next day to continue exploring. During this ti, Magong, I’ll leave you in her care, okay?"

"Provided there’s no deliberate interaction with the Magong Main Family, there shouldn’t be any problem. Besides, Tong and I still have a lot to catch up on—no problem at all," Magong Yongshi looked at Magong Tong.

Feeling the sowhat intense gaze from the other, Magong Tong shrank her neck, but surprisingly, she didn’t show any resistance.

It seems this is what they call the connection between sisters.

Moreover, the current weakness of Magong Yongshi’s spiritual body posed no threat to Magong Tong, which also reassured Beichuan Si to entrust Magong Tong to her care.

After giving so instructions, Beichuan Si finally left Shenzhu Village to officially bid farewell to Magong Tong and Magong Yongshi, heading towards the Shenzhu Shrine.
