Seeing his daughter’s sword heart beco pure and flawless once more filled Su Jianyi with relief, yet his expression grew even colder.
With his right hand, he clenched the air twice, lanting the absence of his sword by his side, for he would have surely disciplined this audacious young man. Moreover, there was a familiar aura about this youngster, sowhat reminiscent of the Heavenly Dao he once dared to strike.
Could it be that this youngster had co into contact with the Heavenly Dao?
Su Youyi and Liang Yi exchanged smiles as they returned to normal, marveling how quickly they faced trials upon becoming Dao companions—a testant to their support for each other.
On the path of the Immortal Dao, neither of them was alone.
"That Jade Pendant...have you worn it since you were a baby?" Su Jianyi turned away from Liang Yi to pose another question.
"Ah? Yes...I heard from my senior brother that I’ve had it since I was in swaddling clothes," Youyi only then realized Su Jianyi was speaking to her and took out the jade token.
Without any visible gesture from Su Jianyi, the jade token slipped from Youyi’s hand and floated in front of him.
Liang Yi and Su youyi intently observed as Su Jianyi’s right thumb tapped the void, conjuring a phantom image of another Jade Pendant beside the one in front of them. They looked nearly identical, the only difference being one adorned with the elegant character "Su," and the other inscribed with the forcefully drawn character "Jiang."
"This..."
A bold conjecture ford in Liang Yi’s mind, mirrored by Su Youyi’s expression, as she too, conceived the sa thought.
"Could it be that the elder is not Youyi’s ancestor but..." Liang Yi halted, unsure if his speculation was correct.
"I indeed am her biological father."
Su Jianyi’s expression remained serene as he confird this, sending the jade token back to Su Youyi’s hand.
Hearing Su Jianyi’s confession, Su Youyi clenched one hand tight while catching the floating Jade Pendant with the other.
The cool touch of the jade token soothed Youyi’s racing heart, yet she still struggled to believe—how could she possibly be the daughter of a predecessor from before the First Epoch?
"This is your mother, Jiang Ying." Su Jianyi, whose hands once dared to strike even the Heavenly Dao, now gently sketched in the void the image of a woman of extraordinary beauty.
Liang Yi glanced at the woman in the drawing and then at Su Youyi.
If what the elder said was true, then the younger sister indeed strongly resembled her mother—from the brows and facial features to the special charm contained within their similar pale reddish pupils.
Su Youyi felt overwheld; such revelations were too significant. She hadn’t pondered this matter over the many years, assuming that with her senior brother by her side, it wouldn’t concern her.
Yet unexpectedly, the answer to this question now lay abruptly before her.
The throbbing from her lineage, the deep mories from her Divine Soul when she saw the portrait—all confird its truth.
"Mother, Father..." Su Youyi fell silent, also slightly bewildered.
"When you were born, the Abyss had just been sealed, with everything heading towards decay, and the epoch began to fade," said Su Jianyi, a pure Sword Cultivator who hardly knew how to offer comfort, let alone to a daughter he was eting for the first ti.
"To ensure your safe passage through the cataclysm, your mother and I had no choice but to use a costly secret technique to create a small and sturdy Secret Realm where ti nearly stopped. Once the timing was right, you would erge in a new, safe, and prosperous epoch."
Su Jianyi spoke lightly, but both Liang Yi and Su Youyi could hear the care in his words. The imnse difficulty ntioned by such a formidable figure could only be imagined.
Su Youyi glanced between Su Jianyi and Liang Yi, still finding it hard to accept the sudden ergence of a father.
"Having traversed two epochs, and now seeing you already grown up like this, even I find it strange—back then, you were just so little." Here, Su Jianyi spread his hand slightly in the air as a gesture.
Even he didn’t realize that the corners of his mouth had curled into the most naturally affectionate smile.
"I know you might find it hard to accept for the ti being, but I just wanted to tell you that your parents do love you. In fact, we might love you more than anyone else."
"Now that you have soone by your side worthy of your lifeti trust, I’m quite satisfied, though this young man looks a bit too handso—keep an eye on him, and if anyone dares to snatch you away, just one sword strike should suffice. Our Su Family has never feared anyone," Su Jianyi said atypically after talking for a long ti. His mana, already scarce, was diminishing, and even his body started to beco translucent.
A man who once killed millions without uttering a word, now found himself babbling endlessly, all because of a loving father’s duty and care.
Upon hearing the words spoken by Su Jianyi, Liang Yi unconsciously straightened his chest and took his junior sister’s hand.
This was, after all, a token of approval from his father-in-law; from now on, his sister could rightfully be part of the Liang family. But upon hearing the latter part, Liang Yi simply couldn’t help but smile wryly—his father-in-law was indeed fierce, who else would teach their daughter to chop people?
"Do I look like that kind of person?" Liang Yi touched his nose, thinking about how he had nothing to do with villains in both his past and present lives; which villain has ever had only one love affair across two lifetis?
Su Youyi watched Su Jianyi’s body becoming increasingly transparent, longing to say more to her father she was eting for the first ti, but she didn’t know what to say. Yet she felt that if she didn’t say sothing, she might regret it for the rest of her life.
Su Jianyi waved his hand and from the Void in front of him, three orbs of light in red, gold, and orange converged, two flying towards Liang Yi and one towards Su Youyi.
"This red one I’m giving to you, boy, is the result of my countless years of research on the Abyss. Even after suppressing Cang Dong, I didn’t idle away, and researched the undying powers of the Abyss for two epochs, and the outco lies within this red orb in your hand."
"The gold one is for your master, who is the current Sect Master of the Taoist Sect, containing all my understanding of the Sword Dao. His ambitions are higher than the heavens and he seeks to surpass , so I’m not worried that he will be lost in my experience and walk the sa path as I did. He will naturally understand by receiving this."
"As for the last orange one, consider it a small compensation for your mother and I not being there as you grew up."
Su Jianyi hesitated for a mont before continuing to speak to Su Youyi.
"Thank you, senior!" Liang Yi, sensing that the senior might really be leaving, felt a surge of sadness, holding the two orbs feeling rather lancholic; was this eting that spanned two epochs finally coming to an end?
He glanced at his junior sister, who still appeared hesitant to speak.
If Su Youyi hadn’t been picked up and kept by Liang Yi since she was a child, then nobody could imagine how such a small baby could have survived, so it seed normal for Su Youyi to harbor so resentnts.
Su Jianyi had made arrangents in the Secret Realm before, but unfortunately, everything fell into disrepair over ti, except for the Array that continued to protect Su Youyi, which even lasted beyond an epoch.
"Don’t worry about the Abyss noticing you; when the Great Formation ends, I will erase the mory fragnts about inside the Taihua XiYi bell. This way, even if the Array is deployed again and returns to normal, this sealed place will cease to exist."
Su Jianyi, to ensure the safety of his daughter and that "pig," decided it was better to erase these mory fragnts directly, as it wouldn’t be good if the Abyss took notice too soon.
What he didn’t know was that Liang Yi had been marked with an Execution Order by the Abyss as soon as he arrived in this world.
The sword scabbard reluctantly lingered around Su Jianyi, not wanting to witness his master’s departure.
"My sword broke when I beheaded the Heavenly Dao back then, and I don’t know where it ended up. All that’s left now is this scabbard, and I’ve used the rest of my power to turn it from void to reality, and I’m giving it to you. It’s more than capable of nurturing any sword."
Su Jianyi tapped the scabbard, erasing the "Su" character on it, and directly threw it to Liang Yi. Despite the scabbard’s struggles, it had no choice but to comply, given the strong aura of the Sword Dao emanating from Liang Yi.
"Nurturing swords?" Liang Yi suddenly rembered the broken sword he had acquired in the imperial treasury of Xuanzhou Immortal Dynasty.
Because it was so worn out, Liang Yi had stashed it in his backpack without giving it a second look, only rembering it now.
But there was sothing more important at hand than this; otherwise, he would have taken it out to ask if senior Su recognized that sword.
When Liang Yi looked up again, Su Jianyi’s figure had almost turned transparent, the sunlight behind him even passing directly through his body and shining on the two of them.
In the last monts, Su Jianyi kept staring silently at Su Youyi, perhaps expecting sothing.
"Sotis, once you miss sothing, there’s no chance to make up for it." Liang Yi patted his junior sister’s shoulder, warned her with this sentence, then turned around and left, giving her ti alone.
This advice of Liang Yi was for Su Jianyi as well as for his junior sister.
Having already felt the agony of regret, Liang Yi didn’t hope his junior sister would be the next one; otherwise, no matter how happy she would be in the future, there would always be a trace of irreparable regret in her heart.
After Liang Yi left, Su Youyi raised her head with tears in her eyes, looking straight into Su Jianyi’s eyes for the first ti.
"I’ve never blad you; if it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t have t my senior brother, so I am really grateful to you."
Hearing these words, Su Jianyi felt sowhat gratified and unconsciously smiled, his heart feeling as though a burden had been lifted.
"Senior brother is right, so things once missed can’t be made up for. If I don’t say these things now, they will trouble my whole life, so I choose to say them now."
"Although you and mother weren’t there to watch grow up, you allowed to et my senior brother, who has been taking care of all these years. If there’s such a thing as fate, I believe in it at this mont."
"So, thank you, father!"
