According to the plot setting and ga background, these villagers of Santong Village are actually possessed by evil spirits, having beco undead "living dead."
The protagonist ventures out at night to find clues, and the mysterious creatures he encounters are villagers revealing their true form.

Besides the black blood, the ga’s monsters have other traits, which is that their bodies exist between "physical" and "spiritual."
