Chapter 145: Chapter 118: Advisor (Part 2)
This includes VR, AR, and MR devices, as well as motion-sensing ga equipnt.
The concepts of VR, AR, and MR have been hyped by major companies for a long ti now, and many related gas and devices have been released, making it a relatively popular field in recent years.
However, Chen Ba is clearly more interested in motion-sensing gas compared to AR, VR, and MR gas.
He experienced a ga that captures body movent trajectories through the TV/computer cara to perform dance moves.
He also tried a ping-pong ga that simulates racket feedback through a controller to mimic real-ti matches.
"The equipnt is a bit pricey!"
Although the experience was quite good, after asking about the price, Chen Ba couldn’t help but sigh, "If the prices don’t co down, this type of equipnt ultimately won’t replace the mouse and keyboard or controllers."
Moreover, the gas are really few.
The number of gas that these devices can run or play on is just too few. Most of the gas are pretty basic and can’t compare to the major titles on PC or console.
"What can you do, PC and consoles have been around for so many years, while these devices have only erged for a few?"
Yang Dong said with a smile, "For now, even if one or two phenonal VR or motion-sensing gas appear, it’s still hard to shake the status of mouse-keyboard combos and controllers."
But who can say what the future holds.
Just like how the arcade ga rooms that once thrived everywhere were slowly beaten by and even replaced by internet cafes.
Maybe soday in the future, with technological breakthroughs, these insignificant little gadgets will indeed replace the mouse and keyboard.
We’ll talk about the future in the future.
After wandering around the exhibition area and experiencing the new gas and technologies from various companies, Chen Ba also discussed the new ga he revealed in his speech today.
"Love simulation gas, you all must have played them, right?"
"Played, but..."
Yang Dong hesitated a bit and said, "Are you talking about oto love simulation gas or male-oriented Galgas?"
"Either works, they’re almost the sa anyway."
Chen Ba didn’t fuss over Yang Dong’s distinction between oto and male-oriented, because he knew these are indeed the two major branches of love simulation gas.
Oto gas are like a bunch of handso guys, such as the type represented by a suave CEO like Li Zeyan in "Love and Producer."
Male-oriented ones feature a bunch of beauties, focussing more on Galga categories. The recently popular "I’m Surrounded by Beauties" is of this type.
The folks at Tianba Studio play gas whenever they have free ti, so Chen Ba would never believe they haven’t played such love gas.
Lu has at least ten Galgas on his computer already.
This is just the incomplete ones; if you count the ones he has finished and uninstalled after entering the sage mode, there are definitely dozens.
"Ahem!"
Seeing that Ba knows him so well, Lu’s expression couldn’t help but tighten a bit, and he quickly defended himself, "It’s not that many, I work so much, it was only in my spare ti that I played one or two at most."
"Ah, right, right, right!"
Not wanting to expose his clumsy lie, Chen Ba shook his head and said, "So, what do you think, for this love simulation ga, should it be oto or male-oriented?"
"It could be either!"
Zhong Shengwei thought for a mont and said, "Both oto and male-oriented have their loyal players, but Ba you seed to ntion that our ga is gender-neutral?"
"Exactly! Gender-neutral!"
Chen Ba nodded and said, "If a player chooses a male character, then it’s a male-oriented love ga. If they choose a female character, then it’s an oto love ga."
The main focus is on inclusivity and comprehensiveness.
Both male and female players are the target audience of this new ga, not like other love gas that create separate domains and tracks.
"How about the Online explanation?"
Although Ba briefly touched on the Online mode during his speech, Lu still had many questions.
For love simulation gas like this, it’s not like there aren’t Online versions.
Many mobile gas have online features, but those are mainly based on in-ga purchases and heavy spending, which he thinks is not the sa as what Ba ntioned as Online.
"The ga is definitely a buy-to-play."
Chen Ba first established the main the before continuing, "My idea is to make this ga a Roguelike, where each ti you encounter randomly generated male/female leads."
"Then the key to the online aspect is that you can collaborate with other players online to help each other conquer characters."
Chen Ba gave an example.
Assu Yang Dong and Lu are each playing the new ga, each randomly encountering several female characters with different personalities and identities. Suppose Lu has difficulty conquering a character and might need the help of other players.
At such tis, Lu can send a distress call and let Yang Dong enter his world, acting as a wingman to help him complete tasks and conquer certain characters.
"So if I went to Lu’s world and found myself liking a female character, can I pursue her too?"
"Of course!"
"You could even compete with Lu to pursue the sa female character, but Lu might get upset and kick you, the trailer, out." Chen Ba said with a laugh.
This was just a joke.
The online mode exists with good intentions, because who among us doesn’t rely on one or two "Advisors" when pursuing girls or boys?
Chen Ba plans to add a voting feature, inspired by a harem ani he watched called "Date A Live."
In this ani, the protagonist Wakaba Shidou has a sister nad Qin Li.
And every ti Shidou goes on dates with the spirits, Ratatoskr, i.e., Qin Li and her Advisors, co up with various ideas to decide Shidou’s next move and dialogue content through votes.
The intention behind the online mode is to make use of the saying, "Three cobblers with their wits combined equal Zhuge Liang."
After all, conquering a character involves making many critical choices. If the wrong choice is made, it generally ans the conquest has failed.
Furthermore, because these NPCs are randomly generated, there is no universally correct answer, so players really need the suggestions and help of others.
"Advisors?"
Lu couldn’t hold back his laughter, "They just co up with funny ideas, relying fully on wingn to win dates, right?"
"Well, you don’t have to listen!"
Chen Ba spread his hands, saying, "If you’re confident you can make the right choice every ti, then don’t listen to the Advisors, just go with what you think."
But in most cases, that’s not feasible.
No one can guarantee making the right decision every ti, and no one can claim to be an expert in romance.
When you’re unsure of what to do, taking so advice from others might just help you turn the situation around.
Actually, it’s the sa in reality.
Both parties involved in a romance can be quite blind at tis, making wrong choices or decisions, having good bros/sisters by your side to guide you helps a lot.
But then again...
Advice from good bros or sisters can be tricky, it’s up to you to believe or not.
If you feel it’s reliable, then go with the Advisor’s suggestions. If not, then quickly ditch the Advisor to avoid ssing things up for yourself.
"Love Advisor Departnt!"
With a smile, Chen Ba said, "The word ’Advisors’ sounds crude, why not call it Love Advisors instead."
The ga will be nad this as well.
The core gaplay remains the classic love simulation, but due to the presence of the "Love Advisor" chanic, it becos an online ga.
There will be a leaderboard at that ti.
It’ll be like in LOL, where you can give teammates a thumbs up or report them post-match. If the Advisor is helpful, give a thumbs up and five stars!
If the Advisor isn’t helpful, offering nothing but bad ideas that ruin others’ chances, give a thumbs down, serving as a warning for other players to avoid taking this person’s advice.
How do Advisors appear?
Of course, players initiate a help request, and the system randomly matches an online player to assist.
Then you check the "performance record"! Wow, got an Advisor with rave reviews? This one’s a must-have!
Got one with mostly negative reviews??
Good luck to you!
