"Stop! Routine inspection!"

A furious shout halted the caravan advancing on the trail.

The Inspection Team from the mountain village rushed down, blocking the long caravan with an extrely arrogant attitude.

As the chief of this convoy, the leading supervisor obviously didn't expect anyone to dare stop the caravan.

He was extrely angry, rushed to the front of the team, and pointed at the nose of the Inspection Team's captain, roaring in anger.

"Who are you people to dare intercept us?"

"We are the Light Inspection Team, responsible for inspecting passing caravans to see if there's anyone daring to transport contraband! Smuggling goods!"

Upon hearing the captain of the Inspection Team say this, the caravan leader was a bit dumbfounded.

Honestly, he hadn't heard of this so-called Light Inspection Team.

But looking at the solemn expression on the other side's face, it didn't seem fake. Moreover, the mbers of the Inspection Team were all surrounded by a strong aura of light, which couldn't be faked.

But... this so-called Inspection Team didn't even have a uniform, and their weapons were bizarre.

If anything had to be said, they seed more like mountain bandits robbing and looting.

While the leader was in a daze, the Inspection Team captain waved his hand: "Brothers, go! Routine inspection!"

"Yes!"

The other mbers of the Inspection Team imdiately surrounded and reached for the boxes on the carriage.

The people from the caravan were, of course, not willing, and stepped forward one by one to stop them.

"Bold! You dare obstruct the Inspection Team's law enforcent! Everyone, listen to my command, draw your swords!"

The Inspection Team captain imdiately turned hostile, and with his command, all mbers drew their weapons.

That posture suggested they were ready to kill at the slightest disagreent.

This ti, the people of the caravan started to have dodgy looks, and their previous arrogant attitude vanished.

Mainly because these people were so righteous that one couldn't help but feel guilty.

Moreover, most people in the caravan knew there was indeed a problem with their team.

They weren't a proper caravan but rather Archbishop Charles's private caravan.

The goods transported weren't legitimate rchandise but rare treasures and tributes from the various counties scavenged by Archbishop Charles in the Northern Realm.

These things, besides for Archbishop Charles's personal enjoynt, a significant portion was intended for the high ranks of the Light Divine Court.

After all, these goods had illegitimate origins and couldn't be openly presented, so they chose to travel small roads to avoid official checkpoints.

Otherwise, they wouldn't have been stopped on this desolate mountain path.

Of course, they hadn't made any defenses.

Every carriage was adorned with the banner of the Light God Sect, and the carriages bore the emblem of the Archbishop Charles's family.

Whoever moved these carriages would essentially be offending both the Light God Sect and the vast family power of Archbishop Charles.

Basically, it was like committing suicide, and a most cruel and torturous one at that.

Any foolish thief should see these two marks and run as far as possible, afraid to have anything to do with them.

But these people, seeing these two marks, acted as if they didn't see anything, which was indeed perplexing.

The leader saw that a confrontation was brewing and grew a bit fearful.

Knowing that with these two amulets, no one would dare to harm them, the caravan didn't even bring along proper guards.

Being accustod to arrogance, he subconsciously thought there would be no problems, but unexpectedly, the situation had turned against them.

The leader quietly approached the Inspection Team captain, first performing a standard Light salute before discreetly pulling out a bag of gold coins from his chest.

"Sir, we are Archbishop Charles's convoy. There is nothing illegal on board.

This small token is just a gesture. Please be lenient and let us pass.

If so, Archbishop Charles will definitely be delighted."

The leader thought that paving the way with gold coins, lowering his stature, and waving the archbishop's banner—

A combination punch like this was bound to have so effect, right?

Unexpectedly, the Inspection Team captain grabbed the leader's wrist and shouted furiously.

"Ah! In broad daylight, you dare bribe the Inspection Team openly! Just for this, your head can be off!

As a believer of the Holy Light, you engage in such petty theft? You've lost all face for the Light God Sect!"

The leader felt as though his wrist was about to be crushed, and fury surged through him.

"What are you doing? Do you know whose convoy this is?

This is the archbishop's convoy!"

The Inspection Team captain snorted coldly: "Archbishop, so we shouldn't inspect because it's the archbishop?

The Divine Envoy said!

Under the light, everyone is equal!

Since it's the archbishop, he should set an example!

As an archbishop of the Holy Light, what shouldn't everyone inspect? What can't everyone see?!

Archbishop?

Let tell you, I'm here to inspect the archbishop!

Don't ntion the archbishop; even if the Pope himself were in this carriage, the Inspection Team would still conduct a check today!"

Such outrageous words instantly frightened the leader into paleness.

He, with lips quivering, timidly asked.

"You! What kind of thing is this Inspection Team anyway? Even the Protecting the Court wouldn't dare say such words!"

This question seed to strike a chord with the captain, who took a deep breath.

"You ask what the Inspection Team is?

I'll tell you!

What the Protecting the Court dares not manage, the Inspection Team dares to manage!

What the Protecting the Court dares to manage, the Inspection Team must manage!

Who they dare not kill, we kill!

Who they dare not catch, we catch!

What they dare not do, we do!

In one word!

Divine Authority granted! Inspection across the land!

This is the Inspection Team!

Is that clear enough?"

The leader was dumbfounded, now convinced that this group of people was absolutely insane!

"Do you realize the consequences of your actions? The archbishop won't let you off! You will definitely pay for today's actions!"

"Consequences? Price?"

The Inspection Team captain's expression was solemn: "The Divine Envoy taught us!

My heart and actions are as clear as a mirror, all for the light!

How could we fear consequences or price?

Don't defile the light we worship with your filthy thoughts!

All mbers of the Inspection Team!

Search!

All who dare to obstruct!

In the na of the light, execute on the spot!

For the light!"

"For the light!"

Under such aura, the caravan's staff was utterly terrified, and could only stand trembling on the side, watching as the Inspection Team searched.

So many rare treasures, imnse wealth, were suddenly exposed before the Inspection Team's eyes.

"Humph, humph, good, very good, this is the archbishop's evidence of guilt!"

The Inspection Team captain imdiately waved his hand: "Take everyone and the carriage to the Holy Mountain! Let the Divine Envoy adjudicate!"
