It turns out that Lette had underestimated the extent of the military decline of the Elf Empire.

The once-glorious and invincible Elf Empire doesn’t even have a decent military departnt anymore.

After leaving the Imperial Palace, Lette felt his head swell.

He originally intended to coax the Elf Clan onto his tricky path, but sohow, in the blink of an eye, he ended up boarding the Elf Clan’s leaky ship!

At this mont, Lette realized why the Elf Empress had such a strange expression throughout and agreed so readily in the end.

Indeed, those who have nothing to lose have nothing to fear!

Lette couldn’t help but think of the twin Goddesses of Life in the Divine Court; is going barefoot truly a family trait?

Though, really, don’t go barefoot in matters like this!

After the Elf Queen’s beginner-to-advanced explanation, Lette finally understood the basics of the military force of the Elf Empire.

With no wars for many years, they didn’t fight either.

Moreover, the responsible Holy Light Church ensured no conflicts erupted into war with other human bordering nations.

The Elf Empire dismantled its original army and it had been disbanded for hundreds of years!

As the Empress ntioned, apart from a few border troops and the Imperial Guards responsible for defending the frontier, there’s no structured military force dostically.

Lette then got a detailed understanding of what they, the mother and daughter, called the border-guarding troops.

As it turns out, they’re really just bands!

The largest band has only more than eighty people, and the smallest about forty.

The internal occupational mix is exactly like a rcenary group, in fact, they are rcenary groups.

These rcenary groups that belong to the Elf Empire often go to take on rcenary tasks near the border when idle!

These rcenary groups even handle over half of the Elf Empire’s border material sales!

Lette was incredulous and scolded the Elf Empress for allowing border troops to work part-ti and do small business!

This is an unprecedented joke!

The Empress explained that because the military departnt had been abolished, the border troops had no legal ans to receive military rations.

With no other choice, the Elf Empress had to use the na of the Elf Empire to post so border patrol tasks at the rcenary headquarters.

She then let these border troops, restructured as rcenary groups, take on these rcenary tasks.

In this way, it was like subcontracting the garrison task externally, and then letting internal teams take on the tasks, which indirectly paid military salaries.

This bizarre operation made Lette reluctantly applaud.

Initially, these rcenary groups were diligent, but eventually, due to financial difficulties in the Elf Empire, they had to seek their own ways.

Gradually, it evolved into the current situation.

Lette originally had a bit of hope, considering the border defense troops were known for endurance and being iron-willed.

If their fraworks were intact, they could nurture these few troops into the seeds of a legion for expansion.

With the Elf Clan’s soldier quality, they could quickly form a combat-effective unit.

But upon seeing now, it’s utterly hopeless.

Forget about using them as seeds; these guys could be directly pulled out as negative examples.

In the carriage, Lette rubbed his cheeks: "It seems we’ll have to build the Blood Elf army from scratch.

As for those rcenary groups at the frontier! Call them all back.

Even if mosquitoes are small, they’re still at. Moreover, they know the border situation best.

Have them return and form the Vanguard Army. Being scouts is also good."

"Understood, my lord, I’ll have soone send them a ssage later."

Lying in the carriage, Lette rested his head on Lilith’s lap.

One must admit, after Lilith regained her original form, she’s much more useful than when she was tiny.

If it were before, resting on her legs would probably feel a bit uncomfortable, right?

Bang!

Lilith knocked on Lette’s forehead and glared at him in anger.

"I sense you were just thinking sothing offensive!"

"What? How did you sense that?"

"Well, I’m Malice-Lilith. At such close distance, do you think I couldn’t feel it?"

"Ah... I sohow forgot about that."

Emily looked out the window at the streets characteristic of elves, asking excitedly.

"Lette, Lette, what are we doing next?"

"We’re going to the Life Leaf Library of the Elf Clan."

Lette stretched and changed to a more comfortable position: "Don’t forget, our main purpose here is to help you find the Druid heritage."

Hearing this, Rosadina looked at Emily: "My lord, this Miss Emily seems to be human, right? I actually wanted to ask earlier; she gives a peculiar feeling.

Humans, I’m afraid they cannot beco Druids. That requires a high Life Elent Affinity and a resonance with nature to obtain the recognition of a Beast’s Soul.

Moreover, even in the Elf Clan, only male elves have this ability."

Lette waved his hand: "Her case is rather special. In any case, let her try."

"Since the lord has said so, of course there’s no problem. However, in the Life Leaf Library, only Druid-related materials and techniques are recorded.

As for the Beast’s Soul, we don’t have it at hand.

The inheritance was broken, and the last Beast’s Soul has already dispersed."

At this, Rosadina’s eyes were full of sorrow.

The sudden departure of the Life Goddess, the mutation of the Ancient Tree of Life, the catastrophe of extinction for the clan, the loss of territory, her compatriots slaughtered, captured, sold, bullied...

When these things happened, Rosadina should have been just a child.

The Longevity Species live long, and the difficulties accumulated over a long life are much more than those of other races.

"We have an old saying that goes ’bitter things will turn sweet.’ Sunshine always cos after the rain, cheer up a bit!"

Her Highness the Princess was first taken aback, then hurriedly took out paper and pen to make notes fervently.

"What the lord said is so right, how poignant and philosophical! Listening to the lord’s teachings, I feel enlightened, life has beco much brighter!

I definitely have to write this down!

No! I must write down every word the lord says! Then organize it into a book! For the fan club to admire, worship, and read!

What should it be called?

Yes! Call it ’As Holy Sin Wright Says’!"

Lette nearly lost it: "When I needed you to co up with nas for military operations, where was your brilliant mind!

Don’t record this phrase!"

The carriage slowly stopped, and amidst the commotion, they arrived at the Life Leaf Library.

Lette led the three ladies out of the carriage and, looking at the towering library, he couldn’t help but exclaim.

"The Holy City’s library is just three floors, and this one has at least more than a dozen. Truly deserving for elves..."

Lilith nudged him with her elbow: "You ca not just for the Druid’s legacy, right?"

"Mm, I want to check the Elf Clan’s major events chronicle, to see which year the Tree of Life had its mutation, in case there are so clues."
