Unaware of the battle of wills above, Bea continued refining her newfound control.

The battlefield had beco her laboratory.

Her splits adapted, her influence deepened, and with each abyssal turned, she received invaluable feedback—tangible proof that her thods were improving. The process was still slow, each conversion requiring careful manipulation, but the efficiency was increasing. The more abyssals she controlled, the easier it beca.

It was a delicate balance. Push too hard, and the abyssal would resist or collapse, its mind shattering under the strain. But if she adjusted just right, subtly weaving her influence through the abyssal energy to change the target of their blind allegiance from what she gathered from their mories was called the "Great Mother"… then they would turn. And they would fight.

At least for now. She had no plans of trying to keep and raise a group of abyssals.

However, even as her influence spread, it remained a slow trickle compared to the abyssal corruption that raged unchecked across the battlefield and turned city guards and spiritual creatures at a faster rate. This wasn't a solution—just a fracture in an otherwise overwhelming tide.

But then sothing shifted.

A sudden rupture in the abyssal ranks.

The battlefield quaked as sothing massive crashed down from the skies. A grotesque, armored abyssal—a monstrosity nearly the size of a warship—had been forcefully thrown from the high-level battles above, its body gouging a massive trench in the earth upon impact.

It was one of the few abyssal equivalent to an 8-star beast-tar or violet-grade spiritual creature, and had arrived not far behind the Demigod, although its presence was almost completely overshadowed by the overwhelming aura of the abyssal demigod, it and several other high-level abyssal had also been quite difficult to deal with for the city-guards—more specifically the retired guards.

That's right. Despite Nadia being a 7-star beast tar, she was far from being the strongest under the City Lord, naturally there were stronger 7-star and 8-star beast tars, otherwise the city would have fallen long ago only supported by City Lord Ishvaran.

However, all of them are quite old and have long since 'retired' to various private areas to quietly cultivate away from the common affairs of the world. Many of them hadn't been seen in decades and had been naturally forgotten by the residents with ti, only appearing now when the city was on the brink of collapse.

Now it finally seems as though a decisive outco has been made in the high-level field, just below the demigod level.

The knocked down massive abyssal wasn't dead, but it was struggling, abyssal energy leaking from its many wounds.

Unfortunately, unlike human armies with independent thought, abyssal armies seed to have an almost perfect, mindless coordination that made them so dangerous.

Abyssals did not fear pain. They did not fear death. They did not break formation.

And so,l many of the abyssal simultaneously acted without communication and rallied around the fallen abyssal captain. So even directly through themselves into its wide-open jaws in order to sacrifice themselves and provide their injured superior with much needed sustenance.

The fallen abyssal captain, though grievously wounded, was being rapidly reinforced by its mindless underlings. The abyssals' coordinated efforts to heal their superior were disturbingly efficient, a testant to the hive-like nature of their kind. If this continued, the high-level abyssal would recover and rejoin the fray, balancing the hard won advantage the humans now possessed on the field.

If they let this abyssal fully recover, they would have to injure it again.

"ALL UNITS! TARGET THE FALLEN ABYSSAL! BRING IT DOWN BEFORE IT RECOVERS!" A lord cry rang out from one of the more senior guards.

In reply a wave of spiritual skills and attacks imdiately converged on the abyssal general's massive form.

Naturally, the humans wouldn't sit back and allow their plans to succeed, but their efforts to attack the fallen abyssal captain were held back by the many abyssal and corrupted creatures that greatly outnumbered them.

But Bea took a different approach. She decided to take control of the abyssal already standing close to the fallen captain.

Discretely sending a nearly transparent thread of ntal energy through the field unnoticed, the first corrupted she turned was a small, insect-like creature skittering near the abyssal leader's massive form. It froze for a mont, its glowing eyes flickering as Bea's will took hold. Then, without warning, it lunged at another abyssal, its mandibles tearing into its forr ally. The attack was swift and brutal, catching the other abyssals off guard.

And slowly, she began to also control so others around to ambush their own allies.

Chaos erupted.

The abyssals, so perfectly coordinated monts before, now turned on each other. Bea's controlled abyssals attacked their kin with savage ferocity, disrupting the flow of energy, and fresh flesh and blood resources ant to heal the fallen abyssal captain. The high-level abyssal itself roared in frustration, its massive limbs thrashing as it tried to restore order to their ranks, but the damage had been done. The carefully orchestrated recovery effort was unraveling.

Bea continued to weave her influence, turning more abyssals and deepening the chaos. The battlefield around the abyssal leader beca a maelstrom of violence, abyssals tearing into each other with mindless abandon. The high level abyssal's wounds, instead of healing, began to worsen as the flow of energy was disrupted and so controlled abyssal even took the opportunity to bite and tear into its wounds.

Moreover, after seeing the actions of the controlled abyssal, those uncontrolled strangely joined in their actions without Bea's influence.

They tore into the flesh of their superior and consud it, using the 'high-level at' as an elixir to help them breakthrough. Soon many of those that weren't controlled by Bea increased in strength, and seeing the benefits to eating their own superior, other abyssal not controlled by Bea also enthusiastically began to tear the high-level abyssal apart. Their previously organized behaviour was long gone as they succumbed to their most carnal instincts.

Finally, with a deafening crash, the general collapsed. Its massive body shuddered once, then went still, its abyssal energy dissipating into the air. The remaining abyssal scrambled to collect and absorb the remnants of its energy.
