Chapter 973: Chapter 783: Maybe It Could Produce Antibodies

Xu Shuo stepped into the anomalous section of the budget shopping mall.

What greeted him was an ordinary shopping mall.

However, the sky above was azure, and the sun shone brilliantly, though there was no sensation of heat.

Additionally, the area lacked any Safety Bureau guards. Outside the mall, people were bustling on the street, and no catastrophic anomalies were apparent for the ti being.

Xu Shuo looked up.

The sun seed like a re texture map.

Other than emitting a pale light, it lacked any real solar function, and even the white clouds in the sky remained static.

Pedestrians moved back and forth on the streets.

But none of them interacted with those around them.

They completely ignored Xu Shuo’s presence. Even if they accidentally bumped into his shoulder, they wouldn’t react — they would simply continue forward with a fixed smile until their figures vanished at the end of the street.

It was as if they were part of so rigidly programd routine.

This scene.

Instantly escalated the eerie atmosphere of the street.

Xu Shuo stood outside for about two minutes before finally stepping toward the budget shopping mall.

Standing outside its glass doors, he could see a similar bustle of people inside, while a faint stream of air-conditioned coolness seeped out through the cracks.

“Creak.”

Xu Shuo pushed the door open and stepped in.

He had assud he’d need to delve deeper inside to investigate further.

Yet the very mont he pushed the door open.

A sudden sensation of weightlessness struck him. Before he could react, his feet hit the ground again, and in front of him was already Exit B of the mall’s underground parking lot.

He paused for a mont, then turned his attention to a row of bicycles leaning against the wall.

There were about a dozen bikes, old and faded, cramd together. They bore little dust, indicating they were regularly used.

In the City Center District.

It was common for the elderly to ride bicycles for grocery shopping.

After the last incident at the budget shopping mall.

Themis had inadvertently misplaced this group of bicycles.

The mall had caused a commotion for a while afterward, with everyone assuming a thief had stolen all the bikes, prompting demands to check the surveillance footage.

Unfortunately, the caras had conveniently malfunctioned that very night.

And now, these bicycles had reappeared.

Xu Shuo frowned as he regarded them for a mont, then stood still and opened his Player’s Handbook. Upon noticing there was still no response from Luo Kai, he thought for a mont before stepping into the underground parking lot.

And once again, the sensation of weightlessness struck!

Bang!

The mont Xu Shuo landed, he staggered slightly.

Snapping his head up, he found himself facing an expansive, desolate pitch-black terrain. Above, a dark red sky seed to be brewing a massive storm, with layers of black clouds spiraling into a vortex.

This didn’t seem like Earth anymore.

Had the Phase Space fractured?

He stared up at the sky in confusion, suddenly struck by the thought that the massive vortex resembled an eye, with the center of the vortex serving as its pupil.

It was then that the slowly rotating vortex abruptly convulsed violently, and from its center erged a colossal black hand, descending like a collapsing tower. Its crimson claws at the end bore down upon Xu Shuo with terrifying force!

Xu Shuo’s eyes widened abruptly. He instinctively tried to dodge, only to find his feet frozen in place.

Looking down quickly.

He found countless black tendrils had silently erged from the ground, binding his legs firmly where he stood. The darkness continued to climb upward.

Yet before this,

he had felt absolutely nothing.

By this point, the massive hand from the vortex was about to strike down. At the critical mont, Xu Shuo’s entire body suddenly sank into the pitch-black ground.

The ability of “Dark Stealth” allowed him to rge into the darkness.

But the mont he entered the dark space.

An overwhelming surge of darkness swept toward him from all directions, uncontrollable, surging forward and wrapping around him tightly, imprisoning him so completely that he could no longer escape this dark space.

Xu Shuo furrowed his brows.

Decisively, he used the “Qiuzi” Character Card.

The innate dark abilities of the Necrophage far surpassed his own expertise.

Xu Shuo attempted to disperse the darkness clinging to him, directing it to unravel using Qiuzi’s power. Yet at that mont, even Qiuzi’s abilities couldn’t manipulate the oppressive darkness surrounding him.

It was as if he had fallen into a swamp.

Like being crushed under the weight of thousands of tons of water.

No matter how he struggled, he couldn’t break free, and the unseen, sticky tendrils of darkness held him firmly as he continued to sink deeper.

All around him stretched an endless abyss of blackness, void of any color or light, devoid even of the sight of his own body.

During this mont, it felt as though even the concepts of ti and space had faded from his consciousness.

How much ti had passed?

How long…

Xu Shuo suddenly jolted.

Before his eyes, a brilliant gold-red light tore through the void, piercing like sunlight breaking through storm clouds, like dawn shattering the dark night. In an instant, it dispersed all the surrounding darkness.

Whoosh—

It was like erging from the water and taking a breath of fresh air.

The crushing darkness enveloping him vanished, and while the scene remained one of midnight, the air now felt fresh and liberating.

Xu Shuo slowly exhaled and looked ahead.

In front of him stood Los.

Los’s expression appeared sowhat helpless: “Only a minute has passed.”

Xu Shuo hesitated for a mont, intending to glance past Los at the scene behind him, but Los noticed his movent and, alard, quickly pulled him around to face another direction.

“You’re still trying to look?!”

“Because I can’t rember what I just saw.”

“There’s no way I’d let you rember!”
