Chapter 948: Chapter 770: If the Sun Explodes in One Year

Xu Shuo walked out of the café.

Not too far away, Luo Kai, who hadn’t left at all, quickly approached him.

“Did you check it out? Does that Judgent avatar actually work? Oh, and he didn’t ban us from continuing research on the defensive chanism’s power, right?” Luo Kai asked eagerly.

“…”

Xu Shuo was originally walking straight toward the studio without looking around, but hearing Luo Kai’s incessant chatter, he suddenly stopped in his tracks.

Luo Kai imdiately halted as well.

He stood there, clearly anticipating a response.

After a mont’s silence,

Xu Shuo turned to look at him and asked seriously: “Are there programrs on the research team at the Yuhua Institute?”

Luo Kai: “…”

To Luo Kai, it seed like no normal person would ask such a question.

But then he thought about it,

this guy wasn’t exactly normal either.

So he calmly took it in stride.

And calmly made a phone call, tossing the question to Captain Zheng, asking him to investigate the Yuhua Institute’s situation. Eventually, they confird that there were no programrs among the teams stationed at the institute.

“Why did you suddenly ask that?”

After finishing the process, Luo Kai asked curiously.

Looking at the red traffic light while crossing the street, Xu Shuo said, “The defensive chanism is like a precise chanical program, which ans its operation follows patterns. But most researchers, when faced with the unknown, tend to overcomplicate things.”

Luo Kai nodded thoughtfully.

That explanation was indeed straightforward and easy to understand.

In summary, Xu Shuo seed to want programrs to join the research on the defensive chanism, though it wasn’t clear if he misunderstood the capabilities of programrs.

If nothing else, even if the “defensive chanism” had so computational patterns,

it wouldn’t be sothing programrs could decipher.

Since Xu Shuo didn’t stop walking, Luo Kai followed him all the way to the office building beneath the studio.

The two of them discussed the defensive chanism at length on the street. As for confidentiality, it didn’t feel necessary—any passerby overhearing bits of their conversation probably wouldn’t understand the context.

And if any script players were eavesdropping,

it wouldn’t matter either.

This was because Luo Kai planned to suggest that the official team publicly release so information about the monsters in order to attract more players to reveal themselves.

In the real world, if High Rank script players wanted to remain hidden,

it would be almost impossible for anyone to find them.

Whereas Low Rank script players,

rookies who had just entered the acting scene often lacked good performance skills. If their disposition was poor, they might even show off or boast a little, allowing traces of abnormalities to surface through re snippets of their conversations.

But High Rank players were much more cautious.

Their composure seed deeply ingrained in their very being.

Take Radiant Ga Studio, for example—an official priority surveillance unit—and yet, despite this level of surveillance, no one had discovered Los’s unusual identity.

This speaks to how composed that powerhouse truly is!

Of course, his strength might also be a factor.

But given the current crisis, no one in this world can remain unaffected anymore.

They need to rally together all the players in this world,

and protect the world together.

After dropping Xu Shuo off at the studio,

Luo Kai stood outside the building, took a deep breath, glanced around, and waved down a taxi that frequently stopped on this street.

The taxi hesitated for a mont before driving over.

Luo Kai opened the passenger door and got in directly.

“To the Safety Bureau.”

“…Huh?”

The taxi driver froze, eyes slightly wide.

Seeing that the car hadn’t started, Luo Kai turned to look at him.

Saying nothing, just staring.

The two locked eyes.

Until a faint electrical buzz ca through Luo Kai’s Bluetooth earpiece; the taxi driver’s expression subtly shifted, and he looked away. Without another word, he quickly shifted gears and slamd on the gas pedal.

With a screech, the car sped off!

Radiant Ga Studio.

Xu Shuo had just returned to the office.

While exchanging information with Pei Hong, Pei Sheng sneaked in, looking suspicious. Seeing Xu Shuo was on the phone, he remained silent for the mont.

But before long,

he realized Xu Shuo seed to be talking to his older brother.

“Wait, is that Pei Hong?”

Pei Sheng’s eyes shot wide open!

Xu Shuo, speaking softly into the phone, lifted his head at the sound, glancing at Pei Sheng indifferently before turning back to continue his call.

But this reaction made Pei Sheng instantly more lively!

Xu Shuo, still turned away, continued his phone call when suddenly his phone was snatched away. Pei Sheng swiftly put so distance between himself and the desk before loudly answering the call.

“Hello?!”

“Why are you calling? Investnt plans?”

“Then what do you want…”

“Nope.”

“Not happening!”

After blurting out the last two phrases frantically, Pei Sheng tossed the phone back to Xu Shuo as if it were burning hot and tried to bolt out of the office.

But just as he reached the door,

he rembered his original purpose for coming.

So he froze, still standing by the door, warily watching Xu Shuo.

Xu Shuo, calm as ever, picked up the phone again.

“Hello?”

“Mm.”

“Tonight.”

“That works.”

After finishing the call, Xu Shuo hung up.

Pei Sheng stared at him curiously: “What are you and my brother scheming? He won’t invest in your studio, and he’s not going to find you projects either. What could you two possibly have to talk about?”

The Pei Family’s investnt in Radiant Ga Studio had always been represented by Pei Sheng.

No matter where the money ca from,

the representative was undoubtedly Pei Sheng.

At this mont, Pei Sheng suddenly rembered sothing.
