Chapter 765: Chapter 651: Tonight’s Wind Is Very Noisy

If a gun appears in the first act, then it must fire by the third act.

Therefore, since Black Dragon Island appeared at the beginning of the story and is currently being sought by both parties, it must exist.

And it might even be an important plot point.

Or an important character.

Xu Shuo was so determined to find the giant dragon clan mainly because the records of the Holy Court’s history indicated that the power of the giant dragons was not to be underestimated; they could directly dominate the battlefield.

Even the Papal Lord did not know why the giant dragons were defeated a thousand years ago.

But whether the God of Light had perford miracles a thousand years ago, whether this continent had legendary Grand Magi, or whether swordsn had the strength to split mountains, the Papal Lord also did not know.

The world today may be in the Age of Dusk, with mystery waning, and the history of the past has beco sowhat dubious legend.

However, that is for ordinary people.

The history of the Church of Light has not been lost, and the Dragon Clan and Elf Clan truly exist.

Furthermore, the Dragon Clan, which relies on the inheritance of bloodline power, does not need to learn any magic or Sword Qi. Their natural physical gifts are inherent from birth, their bodies enormous, effortlessly taking to the skies and traversing lands.

On the ancient battlefields, they were proper monsters, squashing a child with each step.

Therefore, Xu Shuo planned to find the giant dragon clan as soon as possible.

If they were part of the allied forces, all would be well.

If they were part of the enemy’s camp, they must be dealt with swiftly.

In any case, don’t even think about making it to the final battlefield!

If the Order of the Sun Knights failed to find them, he would personally head to Tunus.

Xu Shuo had never intended to go to the Royal Capital with the Holy Court Army—although he would certainly go to the Royal Capital, for he still had the task of slaying King Saint Vlaro.

It was just unknown whether the opposing camp also had a side mission to take him out.

If they did, Xu Shuo was quite looking forward to them hurrying up and finding him.

Nightfall.

The moon was bright, and the stars were sparse.

While Xu Shuo quietly waited for news of Black Dragon Island.

In the waters of Tunus.

The Order of the Sun Knights received the latest decree from the Papal Lord, and with full gear ready, taking the newly drawn map and masquerading as a rchant ship, they set sail for Black Dragon Island in the night.

And after their vessel had gone far away.

A young girl who had been hiding behind so rocks erged, frowning slightly as she watched the ship blending into the night.

The Tunus City-State was blockaded, and if she wanted to leave, her only option was to set out to sea.

But there were secret sentinels in the waters, so she had to hide along the coast and wait for an opportunity, never expecting to see the group that took the rchant ship’s crew setting out to sea.

During the blockade, fishing was forbidden, and so was the departure of any trade convoys.

This ship that departed in disregard of the ban was most likely the group searching for her.

Although those people bore no identifying marks, the girl guessed they were part of the Holy Court Army.

After all, the vicinity of the sea near the City of Light saw many itinerant preachers, resulting in a more concentrated belief among the populace.

In fact, in all the city-states of the Western Continent, the ecclesiastical authority holds far more reverence than sovereign power.

The reason the Tunus City-State was blockaded was that the Church of Light had lost sothing, and they had plastered her portrait all over the place.

But there’s one advantage in an ancient backdrop.

There are no surveillance caras.

And even if a portrait is very well done, there will still be so discrepancies with the subject’s actual appearance, especially since she had never shown her face.

So the portrait drawn based on the descriptions from the crew mbers couldn’t really be said to resemble her; one could only say they were very different, with only the details of the attire and appearance accurately depicted.

But the girl had already changed her attire completely.

The clothes she had been wearing before, along with the bamboo hat and veil, were carelessly thrown into a rubbish heap.

The girl now disguised herself as a fisherwoman, her smooth black hair lying flat against her spine. Her ears were slightly more elongated than a normal person’s, her skin even fairer and more luminous, and those silver-white eyes gazed out over the sea bathed in moonlight.

The Holy Court was probably off searching for Black Dragon Island.

Her goal was also to look for the black dragon.

Thus, after reflecting on it, she decided to stay put.

From the movents of the Holy Court’s forces, it seed they had been searching the seas around Tunus for Black Dragon Island for quite so ti. Given this likelihood, they probably were not going to the trouble of seeking out the black dragon just to kill it.

Therefore, if the Holy Court’s forces truly found the black dragon, they would inevitably bring it back with them, so she might as well just wait around in the Tunus City-State.

The true appearance of the black dragon was still unknown to her; heading to Black Dragon Island alone would only increase the risk of danger.

She would let the Holy Court’s forces run into the wall first.

The legendary giant dragon clan was known for their power of flesh and blood, so it was unlikely they could be so easily killed by a few Holy Court soldiers, especially now, in the declining Age of Dusk, a thousand years later.

The girl pondered carefully and felt that it should not be so simple.

But just then, her gaze suddenly sharpened; a feeling of danger made her hairs stand on end, and she abruptly leaped to the side!

“Whoosh!”

A silver arrow landed at the position where she had just been standing. Though the sound was faint, the arrowhead had penetrated deeply into the rocks, demonstrating its lethal potential.

The girl turned her head toward the attacker’s position, only to see a man dressed in noble attire standing upon a coastal cliff.

From his vantage point, he looked down at her with an inscrutable expression on his handso face. Suddenly, the corners of his mouth rose in a smile, and he raised the silver bow in his hands once more.

A silver arrow magically appeared in his right hand.

The girl tensed her body, flipping down off the rock just as the arrow shot towards her, and after a brief glance at the man, she turned and quickly disappeared into the night.

This drama was only just beginning, and it was not the ti for battle.

Besides, it was not uncommon in the chaos of battle to mistakenly kill an ally from one’s own faction.

Who knew what sort of disguise that other player might be wearing.

Hence, Zuo Fang did not continue the chase.

He looked at the silver bow in his hand with mild annoyance and muttered under his breath, “The firing rate is too slow.”

Had it been firearms, by now he would have already shot hundreds of bullets.

However, ancient scenarios did not allow the use of modern weaponry.

The silver bow vanished from his hands as Zuo Fang took out paper and pen, sketching the appearance of the girl he had just seen to submit to the Tunus City Defense Forces tomorrow.

Although he was still uncertain of the girl’s alignnt, capturing and interrogating her was an option, and at worst, they would only lose a teammate.

After drawing the portrait, sensing sothing, Zuo Fang took out a compass engraved with the Crown of the Sun.

On the compass, a glowing point in the upper right suddenly disappeared.

This ant that the group of Sun Knights who had gone out to sea had either been completely wiped out or had exceeded the range of thirty kiloters and could no longer maintain a connection.

Zuo Fang put away the compass and gazed out to sea.

Moonlight spilled over the water as waves lapped against the rocks.

The moist, salty sea breeze tangled in his brown hair, as the man in noble garb stood silently on the cliff’s edge, his figure outlined by moonlight casting a cool and lancholy silhouette, exuding an air of needless sorrow.

Yet, his right leg rhythmically tapped the ground, and he humd an off-key tune into the wind—

“The wind howls loudly tonight~”

“No one can sleep~”
