"I know you would never beco the Cardinal of the Resurgence Church."
Although Ice Princess had a hint of sorrow in her expression, her tone was firm.
"But... this is the official announcent released by the Resurgence Church."
She handed Dekan a docunt, detailing the information publicly disclosed by the Resurgence Church that morning.
"After positive and friendly communication, we are pleased to announce that Mr. D, proficient in curses, poison, and ntal control, has officially joined the Resurgence Church. He will serve as a new Cardinal of the church - the Cardinal of Pain - and fight alongside other mbers for our great doctrine."
"Ive been fucking transferred to Resurgence Gaming Club to play as a jungler?!"
Dekan couldn't help but curse. Although the Resurgence Church didn't explicitly na Dekan, the description was practically revealing his identity.
"Who ca up with this miserable idea?"
Dekan felt as if he had been tricked into a situation where he couldn't escape. The Resurgence Church, in his opinion, was being utterly disgusting. If the church genuinely considered him a companion, they wouldn't reveal such information about their own people. So, it was clear that the Resurgence Church had sinister intentions. They aid to provide a handle to those who wanted to cause trouble for Dekan.
"This is just a ans for the Resurgence Church to sow discord. While there will be people with ulterior motives taking advantage of it, please don't worry. The truth will prevail, and the majority of people believe in you as a hero." The Ice Princess looked at Dekan seriously.
Seeing Dekan's silence, Ice Princess added, "I absolutely believe in you."
"Is it because if my reputation becos too high or if I beco a special class card maker, it might touch the interests of certain people?"
"Exactly."
"Hahhh." Dekan sighed helplessly.
He had tried to keep the whole incident low-profile as much as possible. For example, the celebration event in Tristan City was portrayed as a re coincidence. The capture of a large group of Resurgence Church followers was portrayed as pure chance. The process of "defeating Isabel" had many details omitted because Dekan couldn't reveal his final trump card. Finally, the part about "defeating Evans" attributed the main contributor to the Holy Knight Judith. Although Dekan was the key figure, it appeared more as if he coincidentally encountered the situation and contributed by countering Evans's archetype.
Even with all the efforts to lay low, there were still people who couldn't tolerate Dekan.
"Besides, your demon-language card-making skills are not sothing that no one can notice. Although foreign language card-making is a key research focus for modern card makers, your proficiency in demon-language card-making is unbelievably high, as if you were a living ancient demon..." Ice Princess added.
Dekan nodded. He understood what she ant. In this world, demons had almost beco extinct many years ago. Demon-language card-making had gradually beco a lost art.
In ancient tis, the Pain Reversal Archetype and Mana Evaporation Archetype that Dekan currently used were not without demon enthusiasts. At that ti, there were counterasures and strategies against demon's pain imposition, pain feedback, and summon interference.
However, with the passage of ti and environntal changes, demons vanished, and the demon-style techniques disappeared along with the lack of new cards to support them.
Suddenly, in an era without demons, Dekan brought out the latest modified version of the Pain Reversal Archetype. With so of Dekan's ingenious ideas added, the current environnt found it challenging to deal with him. Often, opponents might be caught off guard by Dekan.
If Dekan continued to develop the demon-style techniques, it could have a significant impact or even disrupt the current environnt. So special class card makers might be severely restrained and even render completely useless. Therefore, many people did not want Dekan to bring about such a massive change.
"Can you tell where the main resistance is coming from?" Dekan asked calmly.
"The special class card makers affiliated with the Northern Countries, the special class card makers belonging to the Empire, and..."
Ice Princess handed Dekan a pre-prepared list. Dekan took a look at the list, expressionless, and nodded.
"I understand, thank you."
"The forces in the Northern Countries are currently requesting a comprehensive investigation of you from the Kingdoms Federation, trying to take you away from the Norton Kingdom. However, the Norton Kingdom and several friendly neighboring countries have strongly opposed this. But please rest assured, no matter what, His Majesty the King will not hand you over."
"Okay."
Dekan knew that the Norton Kingdom would not betray him. Since he started school, the King and the nobles of the Norton Kingdom had undoubtedly been firm supporters of him. Otherwise, Dekan's life could not have been so relaxed and carefree.
And most of the surrounding neighboring countries were friendly with the Norton Kingdom. Considering that Dekan had eliminated the Cardinal of Ruin Evans who frequently appeared to terrorize their countries, the neighboring countries would undoubtedly feel much more reassured. Therefore, there were other forces with a protective stance towards Dekan.
However, the unity between the Kingdoms Federation was not absolute. Imperial forces outside the Federation also posed a headache. This provided an opportunity for the Resurgence Church to sow discord.
"So, Dekan, if you go and kill one or two more Cardinals, won't that prove your innocence? The Resurgence Church can't possibly tolerate you challenging them like this, right, ow!" Suddenly, Teacher Cat made a genius remark from the side.
"If I have that ability, why wouldn't I just go and deal with those who oppose directly? Aren't they more manageable than those Cardinals?" Dekan retorted without holding back.
Being able to defeat Evans was not only due to having reliable teammates but also because Evans had walked into Dekan's trap. Daring to actively seek Dekan out ant having no way to retreat. However, if Dekan were to actively go after those Cardinals, even if he brought his idol group along, it would be challenging.
"Don't act recklessly, ow!" The Teacher Cat, hearing Dekan's dangerous words, montarily suspected if this guy was actually the Cardinal of Pain.
Dekan remained silent, only flipping through the list again. He ran his fingertip over their nas one by one, as if intending to erase their nas.
