Chapter 64: [Bonus Chapter] The Great Hustle of the Thirteen Clans (8)

"I experienced a weird phenonon days ago. It was the ti when I was too angry and agitated. My blood lust was leaking. I want to go around, kill all the nuisance who is pestering my backyard and flip everything over." Luis narrated as the orange light of the setting sun kisses his fair skin.

His tone was serious and his pace was stable. The ntal conditioning sohow worked and he is happy about it. Thank goodness he managed to control his thirst.

His thirst for hunks and everything nice. Hihihi.

"Ah," The spirit of the Tree of Life, who is assuming the figure of his past life as Luis Lee, yawned without even trying to cover his mouth. So the scar in his right eye and the eye bags were stretched.

"Hey, are you sure you are ready to listen?" Luis’ expression was like a blank piece of paper. But this ti he isn’t trying at all.

’What the hell is with this primordial spirit being the sage? This spirit is like that lazy ’stupident’ who was the faithful target of the teacher’s flying eraser!

"It was hard to have this kind of persona, moon elf lord. Please try to improve your sense of identity, please." The spirit of Tree of Life reasoned out while rubbing his eyes.

"So it is my fault now?"

It just smiled subtly saying that Luis nailed it.

The moon elf lord just rolled his eyes and continued.

"Then sohow the moon elves in the entire Amber Forest felt my agitation at the exact sa mont that I was on a rampage. They said they felt a thug deep inside them, urging them to see , their moon elf lord. And so they did and 50,000-plus moon elves traveled to et . I am not complaining but instead, I am happy to see them. However, I was a bit concerned since nothing was said about it in the Inheritance." Luis made sure to provide abundant details in his narrative so the Tree of Life can get the gist of the curious phenonon.

"Ah," However, the old sage whom Luis is placing his hopes in, yawned for the nth ti. But this ti, its mouth is covered with its hand.

’You know it’s impolite to openly yawn like that while soone is talking to you right?’ Luis didn’t bother to say that loud. He was afraid of what he can do to soothe his irritation.

The fact Tree of Life’s spirit is doing it with his face irks him 10% more than it should.

’Calm down, Luis. He is a prawn. A jerk with the face of a prawn.’ Luis once again tried to hypnotize himself. But this ti it is not because he realized that his body was hot instead, Luis’ blood reached boiling point.

"Ah," The spirit yawned once again as if to taunt. ’Should he gag this spirit?’ Luis thought. However, he dropped that idea since the Tree of Life is like his parent in this world.

"How pitiful."

"I beg your pardon?" The moon elf lord didn’t understand what the spirit murmured.

"In this world, there is this one special yet normal-looking tree that resides in the middle of every woodland. No, it isn’t a Tree of Life for I am the only one in this continent. But that tree is said to be the manager of the life and death of the trees in the entire forest. This special tree is connected to each and every tree in the woodland. Ancient spirits like

call them the Heart of the Forest. Ah.." The Tree of Life narrated a tale as an answer to Luis’ question, but just like what was expected it was interrupted with a yawn in the end.

"The Heart of the Forest is typically the oldest but more often than not they are the trees that hold much more vitality than the rest of the trees in the forest. Ah, In exchange for its great amount of vitality, they will act as the savior of the forest and send vitality to trees that need it. Ah."

"They are the saddest entity in this world in my opinion. Ah, aside from working their entire tree life to preserve the life of the forest, they shoulder the bla if they die because, ah, their death ans the demise of the forest."

At first, Luis thought that it was just an FYI tale. A narrative that was spoken just for the sake of describing and informing him since wood power is one of his two given power systems.

But as the story progressed and as the ancient spirit’s yawn beca frequent in between his sentences, Luis realized that it sohow resembled his situation right now.

Only he knows the approaching doom that they will have to face in decades ti and he has the responsibility to keep the survival of the moon elves.

"Hey, I know that you’re like a parent to

but could you stop talking in riddles and go straight to the point?" Luis asked since there is a dread brewing in his guts. His body is tingling for reasons that could be nervousness or anticipation.

The Tree Of Life’s Spirit didn’t keep him in suspense and it gave its explanation.

"Out of all moon elf lords, you have the thickest connection to them. Ah, the fact that you can convey your emotions to them although subconsciously and sohow influence them proves that you are a one-of-a-kind moon elf lord. Ah, no one even among your predecessors was born with that gift."

"You said a gift. Then this should be a good thing, right?" Luis straightened his back subconsciously. Did he just find a possible avenue for levelling up? Will he get an additional golden finger?

"Have you ever received a bad gift?" The sagely ancient spirit was quick to burst his bubble.

"Nope, just mugs and picture fras." Luis deadpanned.

"I don’t understand what those things are but they should be a bad gift."

"No, don’t decide too hastily. I am a coffee person and I have lots of photo cards of my favorite K-pop idol so I love receiving those."

The primordial spirit who is obviously a native of this world looked confused right now. It even forgot to yawn like it did earlier.

’That is one point for .’ Luis thought looking smug.

"There is sothing wrong with you, moon elf lord. You are speaking words that I can’t understand."

The poor ancient spirit’s face is full of question marks but it decided to gloss over it.

"Anyway, your strength is their strength and your weakness is their weakness. I am not sure what role the universe has given you but you should know that your death is the death of everyone connected to you in this world."

"I knew that already. Anything else?" Luis said in reference to the quests in the system.

"Talking with you made

realize that you don’t take

as a parent at all, totally unlike what you said earlier." The Tree of Life’s spirit pointed out.

Its eyes are as round as its gaping mouth. The expression that it shows right now is sothing that Luis will never get caught doing. It’s innocent and childish, a stark contrast to his rough features.

’Will I look cute like that if I did the sa expression?’ Luis cannot help but wonder while pressing down the envy. He is quite sure that he will never strike as soone cute if he did that.

Worse, he will be shot dead on the spot because he is missing that one important factor and that is innocence.

"I’m sorry about that. Your face inside my mind is that of a prawn so I forgot that you are the spirit of the Tree of Life." Luis tried to joke but the old spirit who is burrowing his likeness did not understand it.

Luis is not sure if he should be relieved or not.

The innocent tree of life no longer bothered itself to stress over the moon elf lord’s weird words.

"The moon elves are strong beings but their developnt is far behind compared to other races. You can use your connection to them to strengthen them by @#$((#,"

"Wait, what are you saying?" Luis asked since the last word was gibberish to him.

’Is this a payback for what he did earlier?’ Luis looked at the ancient spirit but that is not the case based on the words that ca out from the Tree of Life later on.

"Ah, it seems like the Law of the Universe has censored that information. Don’t worry. Try to figure it out yourself, be the strongest lord that exists in this world and even the law that balances this world will have no say to you, newly born moon elf lord."

"Do you have anything to ask?"

For now, Luis took note of the statent Tree of Life. So parts are gray for him but he is sure that it won’t be long and sooner it will unfold for him.

"Yes, just why is so information not included in the Inheritance?" Luis then explained the issue about the ranks of the plate, his face openly expressing his annoyance.

The Tree of Life gave a knowing smile, that bent the scar on its face.

"Ah, You already know the answer to that, newly born moon elf lord. They have very long lives so it is natural that so aspects are just puny matters to them. The Inheritance is the shared mory of the moon elf lords that ca after you. That is both the basis and the limit of Inheritance. Ah, So everything that they missed also ans that it will not appear in the Inheritance."

"Those assholes!" The moon elf lord exclaid, clenching his fists. Luis cannot believe that he was right! The hell with their damn interests! Don’t they know that they have responsibility to care for their own race?!

At this ti, Luis’ body started to glow.

"It seems like your ntal strength has been used up." The Tree of Life’s spirit pointed at the white light that is consuming the moon elf lord.

That statent hit Luis like a battering ram. Right, techniques that he could use as the moon elf lord needs ntal strength to properly execute it.

"ntal strength was maxed out?! It ans that I will pass out after this?!"

A look of horror. That is the last image of the moon elf lord before Luis was engulfed by the white light and shot into the sky was a look of horror.

The Tree of Life’s spirit crossed its chiseled arms and his gaze followed the trail of the light.

"It was fun to talk with you, moon elf lord."

His body slowly disintegrated into white orbs of light but before he vanished he whispered to the calm breeze of the wind.

"The moon elf lords ford an obsession with certain things to keep themselves going in their long life... I wonder what the new moon elf lord will have? I hope it’s not his subordinates or else he will be broken when the ti cos."
