Chapter 163: To Live And To Exist (2)
"Doubting my bearer’s word is futile. If he says that he can do it, then believe that he indeed has a way to make it happen," Xagrien chid in as the supportive lover of the Moon Elf Lord.
Of course, the bearer ntioned felt that familiar tickles under his gut. It was a good feeling that is great for his flirty heart.
"Need I say more?" Luis cheekily said. The mischief that lacks malice flashed in those dark green eyes.
"This..."
Xerxes speechlessly watched the couple, especially the confident bearer in front of him. He just realized it now but ever since the Moon Elf Lord ca, the gloominess between them dissipated instantly.
It’s like even he forgot that he is dying and is currently in a weakened state.
’I just felt light,’ Xerxes whispered inside his head.
This pleasing aura and the Moon Elf Lord’s words earlier almost made him say that he wants to stay and exist even though he had long conditioned himself to face the worst.
He doesn’t want to just disappear. That is the truth. But the thought of continuing to exist in this world makes him ask himself if it is worth it.
Mori is no longer alive. His race was hunting him and his only brother and family were certainly mad at him for the betrayal that he did.
With all these things, he doesn’t think that he deserves to be given a chance.
’Mori, what should I do?’ Xerxes blankly looked up at the blue crystalline ceiling.
"If you cannot find any deep reason for existing then look at the things that you are lacking and use that as a motivation to continue living," he heard the Moon Elf Lord speaking.
"Does it still count as living if your physical body is dead and I can’t even touch anything?"
"As long as you feel alive then that ans you are living," Luis said. It was unknown to him if he was making any sense saying that so he added, "Don’t you have the little tree spirit with you? And don’t you think, Xagrien needs your help?"
The long-haired dragon embraced silence after being asked those questions.
Right, he is not alone. There is a company who is looking forward to eting him and he just t the child of his beloved bearer.
"You said earlier that my mother asked you to guide . I believe you are not the kind who would shirk their responsibility?"
Xerxes looked at the young moon elf who spoke lightly about Mori.
"I..." he tried to utter his answer but he found himself unable to make a sound. Weakness took over his entire system making him feel numb all over.
’Oh, my ti is up...’ Xerxes whispered. His consciousness is cutting in and out and he could faintly hear Xagrien and the Moon Elf Lord speaking.
"Shit! This old dragon’s body is... I need to supply him the mana needed..."
"I will help..."
Xerxes felt warm in his chest knowing that in this foreign land, soone would do their best to help him and the most surprising part is that the lord of their enemy is the one who initiated to reach his hand to him.
’Well, this should be enough... Too bad I decided too late. I think Xagrien needs to fumble his way to discovering the secrets of our race.’ Xerxes whispered to himself.
Maybe it was true that when soone is about to die, their life flashes in their mind abruptly.
And in Xerxes’ case, it was the final mont that he shared with the bearer who stole his heart.
They were on the edge of the Immortal’s Glade at that ti, hiding within the lush forest after running away from those dangerous individuals who were after their tails.
"Xerxes once this troublemaker grew up and exhibited traits of a dragon. I could only rely on you to educate him," Mori said as he rubbed his swollen belly.
Xerxes knew the intention of the bearer by saying this. Mori wanted to wholesoly brush off the nervousness they were feeling because this is the part when they needed to part ways.
The huge dragon in front of him changed into his humanoid form. Revealing a handso gentleman with an outstanding temperant. There were few gashes on his body but he could continue to stand unfaltering.
Xerxes’ cold blue eyes are focused on looking at the face of the amazing bearer in front of him.
"I will, I promise you that," he said with finality in his tone.
However, Xerxes knew that his survival against the joint attacks of the seven Spears of the Dragon Lord was slim.
Mori knew it too. It was obvious to the small tremors in the originally obstinate gaze of the bearer.
They looked at each other reflecting complicated emotions in each other’s cold blue and purple orbs.
"You need to make sure that you will fulfill that soday so please, stay alive." Mori but his lips and blink away the tears threatening to fall in his eyes. "You are the closest friend that I have ever had, Xerxes. Please don’t make
lose you."
’Close friend...’
Xerxes felt a pang of pain straight through his heart but he just laughed it off. Although it sounded a little forced and weak.
"Why are you suddenly acting this is not you," he tried to joke. "I knew it. Pregnancy is bad for your health.*
Seeing the great dragon acting silly in front of him, a charming smirk gradually ford on Mori’s lips and playfully smacked the back of Xerxes’ head.
"You cunning lizard. How dare you poke fun at a pregnant bearer just to divert the topic. Promise . We will et each other again after this. Make it happen no matter what."
"I promise." Xerxes’ raised his right hand and his handso face blossod into a wide happy grin.
’You are so unfair, Mori. I made it happen and yet you failed to do your side of your deal,’ Xerxes thought.
Maybe this is the world’s way of saying that they were never fated to be with each other.
He was just ant to fall in love and unconditionally adore Mori but he isn’t his destiny.
Xerxes is slowly descending to the pit of lancholy or should he say nothingness. He could no longer feel his body and he was dreading the mont when he could no longer think.
Fear slowly crept its way to his heart while thinking of that since once he reached that point that is considered as the end of his existence.
Xerxes subconsciously waited for that to happen. However, as the ti kept dragging, the tension he was feeling caused him to feel a familiar feeling that he hadn’t seen for a long ti, it was nervousness.
’What is happening? Does the destruction of the soul take a long ti?’
"I just want to end it all."
"Fuck, seriously? After making
struggle for a long ti, that is the answer you are giving ?!" An angry voice of a bearer suddenly broke through his supposedly deaf ears.
