Chapter 155: Not Fated, Never Destined (1)

"No, I will bring my mate with ."

Xagrien imdiately stressed. Standing firmly on the ground, his eyes didn’t waver at all despite the unsmiling face of Xerxes.

"My bearer is different from any moon elf lord and I won’t stand by while you are subjecting him to pointless racial hate."

Tension slowly boiled between the two silver-haired n as they obstinately leered at each other. One with purple eyes that spits lightning while the blue ones are giving an overwhelming chill.

"Fin-" Xerxes was about to word out his agreent but Luis beat him to it.

"It’s okay, you can go with him."

The moon elf lord’s gentle voice broke the tension pridefully. "I don’t want to overstep my boundaries if you’re going to talk about very personal things."

Xagrien caught the slim and fair hand of the moon elf lord that he was fanning, his thick brows are crumpled.

He doesn’t like this action of Luis that seemingly alienates himself from him.

"What do you an by that? You are my-,"

"My mate and my partner," Luis said with a aningful shine in his eyes.

Xagrien noticed that his bearer subtly emphasized the last word, sothing flashed in his purple eyes and he retracted the lightning that was dancing around his eyes.

Facing the other silver-haired man, he crossed his arms over his chest and spoke nonchalantly.

"Alright, since my bearer made way. I will go with you but don’t expect

to keep it all to myself once we are done."

"This child..." Xerxes’ eyelids couldn’t help but twitch in annoyance. From his attitude to his mannerisms, everything is eerily familiar to him.

They say attitude and mannerisms are not inherited. Now here is soone who proves otherwise!

Xerxes sighed and he whispered, full of irony, "Fine as if you would want your mate to know everything I am about to tell you."

Luis caught a little bit of the sentence but he only raised a brow at that. Although he curious, he didn’t bother to ask because even if he did, he doubts that the man will answer his question given that there is a faint animosity between between them.

When everything appeared to be settled, sothing happened.

Whoosh!

Sothing wheezed towards Luis, it was so fast that it didn’t even create an afterimage but he flawlessly caught it with just two fingers.

The pale and slender middle and index fingers. "Oopsie."

It caught Xerxes off guard, making him stare at the moon elf lord with a gap on his lips.

Such an impressive reflex? Without empowering himself with mana on top of that?

Even him, the Dragon Lord’s guardian doesn’t have such quick reaction when sneakily attacked like that.

This new Moon Elf Lord is not a joke at all!

Xerxes stared at Luis more closely this ti. However, sothing or should he say soone stood in front of him blocking his sight.

"A twig?" The oblivious moon elf lord waved the piece of wood that flew towards him.

It was nothing but a stick. Although it is just a brittle piece of wood, if it was shot at a speed like that then the damage that it would create is almost the sa as bullets.

"Are you hurt? Xagrien’s forehead creased as he took the twig and fried it with lightning until it turned to ash.

In contrast to Xagrien’s frowning face, Luis took it lightly, "It’s okay, I am just curious why they threw this to ."

Since living in apocalypse, he honed this skill of detecting bloodlust but this ti, it his sense didn’t reacted aning the attacker doesn’t intend to kill him.

But still, a little injury is possible if he is one beat late.

Seeing the agitation of his man, Luis tried to soothe him by caressing his arm.

"Ahem," Xerxes, who was forced to eat dog food by the two lovers, answered sourly, "I told you right? I am not the only one who isn’t fond of the moon elf lord."

The innocent moon elf lord of course knew who this guy was referring to. The spirit of the Heart of the Forest.

"Oh, I can understand why they use a twig and not a leaf."

Luis turned his head to look at the lone tree that seems to be experiencing an onset of baldness.

’And I can understand the underlying aning behind those words,’ Xerxes thought that the little tree spirit will surely be pissed off by this moon elf lord.

Luis saw the sour expression of the man in front of him. Dragons in their humanoid form are basically like humans plus the protruding horn. They have funnel-shaped ears and it made Luis feel familiar towards Xerxes.

So he doesn’t have any qualms about acting awkwardly.

"What a bunch of anti-fans, you guys... I will not be surprised if you created a hate club dedicated to bad-mouthing the moon elf lord after all these years."

Luis clicked his tongue at the Blizzard Dragon. "Just like what they say, birds of the sa feather flock together."

"Anti-fan?" The silver-haired man scrunched his forehead in confusion. He could sohow understand all the words said by this young moon elf lord.

But only this one unfamiliar word left him with a question mark.

What kind of word is that?

Luis answered, his tone light yet hearty, "Those words perfectly define you as my hater. You can be called a lot of nas based on your feelings."

"Oh, that is quite an interesting take. Then how would you define soone who unconditionally loves a person who is already in love with soone else?" an emotion fleetingly appeared in the man’s cold blue eyes.

Xerxes brushed whatever thought popped up in his head and faced Luis with an equal gaze for the first ti.

Of course, this stare-down doesn’t sit well with the big vinegar jar but he was helpless since Luis signaled him not to interrupt.

"That depends, if the subject of unconditional love is not in a mutually loving relationship, then I would call him a hopeful idiot. But if the other is happy with his love life, then I will call you an honorable idiot," Luis saintly smiled after flawlessly spitting the aningful last sentence.

He is just guessing. It’s his right as an intelligent being.

Of course, Xerxes isn’t a slow one so he laughed a little, and then he quickly reverted to his collected temperant.

"You and I will never beco close, moon elf lord."

After saying that, he flung his robes long sleeves and said to Xagrien.

"Let’s go now, my ti is running out."

Xerxes’ words are laced with hidden aning and the two could partly comprehend that based on the quest title that is related to this man.

Secrets of the Dead. They found the dead and all that is left to do is to find the remnants of Xerxes in order to clear the mission.

But for Luis, it is more than just a mission since this concerns people’s past and not anyone is comfortable exposing that. Therefore, he let Xagrien go as per the man’s request.

And Luis got a feeling that it was a sensitive topic. He really doesn’t want to assu since but based on the looks Xagrien and Xerxes are connected by blood.

[I will rely on you, Xagrien.] Luis uttered to his lover through telepathy.

The moon elf lord doesn’t expect any response but to his surprise, Xagrien cupped his head and planted a short heart-fluttering kiss on his lips.
