Chapter 176: Niel and Noella

After that incident, Noella suddenly beca much quieter at school.

After Maureen made it to the finals, Donald’s family and Josephine’s family both sent congratulations, inviting Maureen for dinner.

The one Maureen most wanted to thank was Professor Logan.

She consulted Teacher Logan, asking him to inquire from Teacher Brown about what type of wine Professor Logan usually enjoyed.

She planned to buy so gifts and visit him over the weekend to show her gratitude.

anwhile, Liam’s sense of crisis was growing heavier.

Every day, as he witnessed Maureen’s na appearing prominently on the finalist list, and the love letters that she pulled out from her desk which multiplied exponentially, his heart ached with envy.

However, he had to act nonchalantly, glancing only briefly before retracting his gaze.

For three consecutive days, he got up at five in the morning, climbed in through the window, and inspected the love letters in Maureen’s desk, only to climb out again. By eight in the morning, when most people arrived, he would co in, battling the cold.

Maureen didn’t realize that Liam had been making trips to the classroom early on these days.

He pretended to be late, entering coolly like ‘no one is cooler than ’, having no idea that many love letters had gotten destroyed by Liam before she even saw them.

All she thought was that Liam’s mood seed low these past few days.

Was he jealous again? But these days she hasn’t even bumped into Richard in the corridor.

Confidently, Maureen thought that she couldn’t be the reason for his mood, perhaps he just didn’t get a good rest.

Liam wasn’t sure why those boys had no sha! Don’t they understand what restraint is?

“Why do they keep writing love letters to Maureen?!”

After spending three days after school at the milk tea shop going through all those colorful love letters with Niel, he felt like he was fed up with all the nonsense.

He furiously mumbled, “A bunch of love-brained good-for-nothings!”

Niel felt like he was scolding him as well, but there was no proof.

Even without Richard, the world was still full of dangers.

Everywhere there are skeletal demons trying to steal his girl!

And the most pressing problem now is that Maureen hasn’t fallen for him yet, which increases the chances of her being swept away!

Though there are less people on the forum shipping Maureen and Richard, people also haven’t been rooting for him and Maureen.

Everyone says that he and Maureen just don’t match! Liam’s confidence has hit rock bottom.

After so hesitation, he asked a question in the group chat,

“Do I lack personal charm?” Drake: “Pfft.” Liam: “…” Afraid that Liam would explode, Niel hurriedly tried to salvage his dignity, “No no no, it’s not that you lack charm.

The main point is, Liam, when Maureen is with us, we treat each other like siblings.

I think you are very important to her, otherwise, she wouldn’t choose to rescue you first whenever there is a problem.

She was more worried about you that day on the basketball court too.”

“Now you need to let her realize that you are – um, how do I put it, the male protagonist in idol dramas.

You need to make her realize that you can be the main lead, to change her mindset.”

Liam roared, “‘You can be the main lead’, what’s that supposed to an? Explain it to , how am I not the main lead?!”

Drake: “It ans, you can create so remarkable scenes.

Learn from the male leads in TV dramas.” Liam was still unsatisfied, but he snorted, “Like what?” Drake started to give voice tutorials.

“You should find a place, do you know about the kind of lighting you can find on Twitter? They hang on the trees like stars.

Take her to this kind of romantic place, then simply flip the switch on, and then say to her, ‘Oh, how co the stars are shining brighter when you’re here’?”

Niel: “…Isn’t this a bit too cheesy?”

Drake sincerely replied: “I don’t know, but this trick has never failed .

If it doesn’t work on Maureen, it’s not my problem.”

Quietly pricking up her ears to listen to the secrets, Liam could only say: “…” Is that all?

Niel then suggested: “Why not plan a mugging with so friends, and then you can save her.

Are you aware of the suspension bridge effect? Girls tend to fall for the person that saves them in a dangerous situation.”

“What kind of ridiculous sches are you two suggesting???” Liam was annoyed and embarrassed, “None of it is even usable!”

That was what he said, but the next day, Liam sneakily made a check on Twitter.

A mugging plan would scare the little girl, Niel is really thoughtless.

Drake has a lot of dating experience, perhaps it’s worth a try.

Maureen was also thinking about inviting Liam to go with her to Professor Logan’s house.

In this way, they can have an excuse to be together on weekends.

Liam had a ‘why can’t I be separated from anyone, won are such a hassle’ expression on his face, but he grudgingly accepted and pretended to just happen to be passing by the dormitory on Saturday to pick up Maureen.

He brought Maureen a pair of gloves, fluffy and white, while he wore a black pair.

With Maureen’s early purchased gift in hand, then the driver take them to the lane where Professor Logan’s house was.

Since he had already ntioned to Professor Logan that he would bring a boy to help with cooking, Professor Logan was not surprised.

Professor Logan had not taught Liam personally, but had certainly heard of his na — a renowned one within the school, with his status as Liam fraying the nerves of every teacher.

Professor Logan had been psychologically prepared for soone of Liam’s stature, the kind of second-generation successor who lacks any understanding and stirs up all kinds of trouble.

But, much to his surprise, Liam turned out to be nothing like he’d imagined.

The boy was tall and handso, his very presence seed to make the already cramped courtyard even more crowded.

Liam, however, didn’t utter a word or exhibit any of the annoying characteristics of a rich kid; he just wiped down a chair and sat down.

He then started a ga of Chess with Professor Logan’s grandson.

Could he be sowhat likable after all? Maureen took off her coat and went into the kitchen, putting the groceries she’d bought into the fridge.

Professor Logan followed her in and started a conversation.

After getting acquainted, Professor Logan’s temperant was no longer as unapproachable as it had been initially.

While eccentric at tis, and occasionally throwing a jab or two, he mostly imparted advice from an elder’s perspective to Maureen.

“Only 35th in the province.

What’s there to be happy about? Still making a special trip to boast in front of .”

Despite his remarks, a smile tugged at the corners of Professor Logan’s crinkled eyes.

Maureen couldn’t help but laugh, “I’m a bit dumb, so just being a finalist is already a joy for .”

Professor Logan replied, “Don’t relax, continue working hard while you’re still young.”

Maureen nodded vigorously, “Yes!” When Professor Logan finished speaking, Liam ducked in to help wash the vegetables.

The kitchen was already rather small, and Liam’s tall stature made it difficult for Maureen to move around.

Furthermore, the air in the room beca filled with the intimate scent of both of them in the cold winter.

Liam leisurely helped Maureen tie her apron. His face turned red, and so did Maureen’s.

The fragrant scent of ho-cooked food wafted in the small room, where breaths, gazes, and the slightest movents all seed to slow down, forming a languid but heart-stirring movie-like scene.

“Is it done, finally?” When she heard no sound from Liam, Maureen turned her head. As she spun around, she collided straight into his chest.

The impact from Maureen’s forehead on Liam’s chest stirred his heart, turning his speech into gibberish.

He managed to stutter,

“What…what are you turning for, it’s not tied yet!”

Feeling a little uncomfortable, Maureen pushed him away, saying,” I can handle it on my own.

It’s just a few vegetables.

Can you please leave?” Before Liam had ti to say anything, he was unceremoniously pushed out by Maureen, who proceeded to close the kitchen door. ”

So, Liam was left with no choice but to sit down on the sofa.

Professor Logan’s grandson silently served him a cup of tea.

He smiled and tousled the boy’s hair before accepting the tea.

Liam suddenly thought of sothing, his head whipped around to stare at Professor Logan sitting next to him, “Professor, about Maureen previously…”

He has also been scoring well, he didn’t visit with her before, did he?

Professor Logan gave him a glance, knowing perfectly what was on this young man’s mind.

He scoffed and said, “No need to ask anymore.

She never brought anyone here before, you’re the first.”

Liam tried hard to keep a straight face, but the little bird in his heart fluttered its feathers with sheer delight.

Richard t Donald’s family at the western restaurant with her, but he was the first to et Professor Logan with her.

That ans he didn’t lose! Mulling over this, Liam smirks, takes a sip of his tea, and casts his eyes towards the kitchen.

Professor Logan’s place is small, equipped with an open kitchen.

Maureen ties her hair up, revealing her fair neck.

The dim glow of the sunset floods through the small window, casting a warm radiance on the side of Maureen’s face.

It’s surprisingly odd, why does everything Maureen do look so appealing?

So adorable.

“Does it look good?” Professor Logan suddenly asked.

Flustered, Liam blurted out without a second thought, a touch of pride in his voice, “Of course it does.”

In a mocking tone, Professor Logan said, “So good that you’ve splashed your tea all over my floor?”

Taken aback, Liam had just realized he’d burned his mouth.

Feeling the scorching sensation, he imdiately jumps up, frantically ripping away tissues from the tea table to wipe up Professor Logan’s floor.

In the kitchen, Maureen: “…” She bites her lower lip, her face flushing.

The second thing was that he seed to… –*******–
